I did play the first one and never bother to finish it because it is frustratingly slow as a single player game but as a co-op game you do not get to do anything, some guys spawn and finish the level before you know the objective. Most of the game is made of copy pasted sections and this is not the kind of game where you want to take in the story. Reviews at the time said it was "fun with friends" but the gunplay is shit.
I remember that Randy scammed the conceptual artists that came up with all the reasons why people played this game and after defrauding them Randy ruined the original idea for a serious game by replacing all dialogue with "Narwhal-Bacon Chimichanga" internet humor.
Borderlands 2 was more of the same shit but it had Moxxy and Tiny Tina and Borderlands 3 just defaced the franchise, made the sexy characters ugly and Tina was a lesbian for no fucking reason.
