WHAT THE FUCK IS A MIMIGHOUL?

GREED IS GOOD

Why is this powerful when your average 1-card combo slop has 1 starter that translates into 20 cards?
At full power, any one Tearlament translated into drawing your entire deck.

its powerful because its not Once per turn and there are ways to recycle it infinetly, it would also become a must have for literally every deck because there's 0 downside to drawing it at any point of the match.

The short is: it's unconditional, can't be responded to favorably, and can draw you two of any card. Combo pieces generate a shit ton of cards but the cards they draw are deterministic and always result in the same outcome. If a combo is A-BB-CCC, then pot of greed could result in drawing A as well as an Ash Blastum to negate the enemy's combo. Or two As, which would let you go AA-BBBB-CCCCCC (obivously card limits but you get the idea).

The irony is Pot of Greed would likely not be playable in modern YGO, it's that powercrept. Not because the effect isn't good, but because your opening hand NEEDS to have answers to your opponent's turn 1 play or you lose. And as broken as pot is, it's not a hand trap that can stop your opponent from going off.

These days, decks have their own archetype-specific combo starters.

There is zero cost to using Pot of Greed. It can fit into absolutely any deck.

Nah, she would win.

The irony is Pot of Greed would likely not be playable in modern YGO, it's that powercrept.

Tactics just went from 3 to 1 and its draw effect was its more popular choice.
On clown formats like MD and OCG you need an answer to Maxx C and Fuwalos first and foremost. If you draw an auxiliary card like pot, the moment you activate it your opponent will shotgun the roach knowing that in 4 cards the likelihood you opened ash or called by is minimal in contrast to their 6 similar handtraps (2 Maxx C and 4 Mulcharmies)

This card sucks.

This post was brought to you by the Graceful Charity gang

You are retarded, the other pots are still staples and some are banned in MD. It's a plus one, no bullshit, going second with it means it is a MUST Negate, because not doing would mean 2 one card starters or board breakers.

Reality is that with enough gas you can break most boards

this event is so awful

Master Duel has become slop format because of multiple engines piled together can power through most negates. Slop is weak to floodgates and all that shit is banned.

Painful Choice clears

leaks doko?

Mimighouls and branded alts

literally just errata it to once pern turn, DUH

Because it's a free +2 that could hypothetically stack. Like there is literally no reason not to run 3 in your deck if you could because it both removes cards from your deck as well as itself.

graceful charity

discard my bewd

THEN MONSTER REBORN IT

Peak 1993 gameplay

Episode 2 is even shorter

Konami....

Average YGO boss monster

Pot of Greed

"NOOOOOOOOO YOU CANT HAVE 2 FREE DRAW!!! YOU NEED A DRAW BACK! THATS NOT FAIRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

you attack

I activate magic cylinder

-3000 from you

I change of heart your blue eyes

Swing with both

GG
No re

Flip monsters that summon themselves to your opp's field, have bad effects for them, and he has to flip them or else he's floodgated

The downside is that going 2nd you'd rather a handtrap.

have bad effects for them

unless they have Dominus Impulse in their deck, in which case the cards do nothing and you just give free bodies to your opponent

Post your favorite cards that kill retards that can't read

Am I the only one who thinks old school Yu-Gi-Oh was fucking retarded?

activate silly skeledino at start of turn

opponent tries to handtrap my on-field dinos

opponent nibs themselves

happens surprisingly often

No, a lot of people are just nostalgic. Old yugioh was objectively a badly designed game where most cards were 100% worthless garbage with literally zero redeeming qualities and then a tiny amount of wildly, unbelievably overtuned broken cards.

And before some fag says "its still like that!" it's really not. Hell, they even finally made all the various useless normal monsters usable recently with primite.

only the gx era was like that, everything had as much pack filler as there is today

Yugioh has been retarded since day 0 (when they were still printing Bandai cards).

The first initial set release was the worst. Most of the cards were normal monsters with very bad stats and the spell cards in the early game were so overpowered that they're still banned or limited to this day

Tactics just went from 3 to 1 and its draw effect was its more popular choice.

Nobody would complain if Tactics strongest effect was the draw 2, they complained because the handrip is infinitely more powerful and also much stronger going first.
Tactics ended up poorly designed because it had 1 effect that's broken going first, 1 turn agnostic effect and 1 "broken" go second effect, but monster stealing is really bad so the card ended up another called by the grave, 1 st turn supporter, rather than a board breaker or versatile card for either turn.

The strongest Raye fan is disappointed.

"Nobody has ever summoned Exodia before!"

With this ruleset, Exodia is the only viable strategy since lifepoints and decking out doesn't exist.

hilarious

I don't care for it either. Every time I play it it feels like once an advantage is gained there's no way for the other player to come back. Once parity is broken and there's a deficit in card advantage or board presence it's a slow inevitable road to defeat. This could be a longer back and forth or it could be as simple as "lol delinquent duo".
The only thing that could pull you out is a string of several hot top decks.

And playground yugioh that people like to daydream about is even worse, if old yugioh is going somewhere slow then playground yugioh is going nowhere even slower.

The truth is Pot of Greed would not break the game, especially since it conflicts with both Extravagance and Prosperity. Prosp being the stronger card overall. So decks that go hard in on draw probably don't benefit that much.

I just want to see Raye and Roze have sex, is that too much to ask?

Remember when they did no banlist tournaments and the winning Tear decks didn't even play PoG

Well yeah, they were playing Graceful Charity and Painful Choice instead because those cards turn on their combos.

It can fit into absolutely any deck.

Not exactly. If decks have bricks in them, POG can potentially have you draw into those bricks when you would need to search them.
For Snake-Eyes a great example is Poplar. You never want to draw into Poplar. If you opened 4 handtraps and POG, and drew into Poplar and OSS you'd be miserable.
A lot of 1 card combos actually benefit from low cards in hand because it means more cards in deck to search. Part of the reason 7th Tachyon can be even stronger than Bonfire despite being a hard neg at the beginning of the combo. This is also why Snake-Eyes is so strong going first. Open 5 means less chance to open your bricks.
PoG would be a staple in 2 card combo decks or decks without powerful 1 card starters. But I'm not convinced it would be staple in Snake-Eyes, Snake-Eyes already weak to droll so POG just doubles down on that, Whereas Talents let you handrip under droll.

would you actually put it in a deck?

Get a job

Yes yes very good painful choice very good, HOWEVER....

I'm sorry, but not to talk shit but that's pure skill issue. In a fucked up game where Droll, Veiler, Ash, Nibiru, other pot cards, and hand traps exist, you mean to tell me you'll suddenly glitch and crash out because I had a free +1? Motherfucker I would get way more pissed getting hit with a Raigeki or Harpie's Feather Duster than a fucking draw 2 on my opponent's turn. Hell fucking Morganite does this exact same shit, only the whole game and only at the cost of hand traps which arent always needed anyway!

I think the controversy surrounding PoG was a stupid ass joke that went too far and now people honestly think its this grand win card cause "durr who knows what it does?"

Running True Light/Magical Mallet in my deck is a stupid ass work around to this shit anyway.

change of heart

heh, nothang personnel kid

Why are TCGtroons retarded enough to buy spreadsheets?

Iblee.png - 200x200, 36.95K

I won a 5 turn, 30 minute duel against Snake-Eyes where they summoned 37 times across their 3 turns and I summoned exactly 5 times.

play opponent that does 10 fucking summons in a row

they give up immediately when they crash into Cyber Jar and it wipes their field

GG no RE.

It turns out that once you remove Apollousa and SP Snake-Eyes Fiendsmith doesn't really have a gameplan aside from pushing your monsters and attacking over them with big bodies.
But that doesn't work with 5 occupied S/T zones and Bystial Lubellion in defense, so their only option is to loop Lacrima for burn

It turns out that once you remove Apollousa and SP Snake-Eyes Fiendsmith doesn't really have a gameplan

yep, that's why I always enjoy hitting someone with a Raigeki or Cyber Jar wipe. Too many cards focus on the singular card being targeted but guess what bitch? Unless you omni negate, this Mirror Force/Raigeki/Cyber Jar is about to rip you a new asshole.

The game was always retarded but you didn't have to think before. Summon Skull + Axe Unga Bunga swing for game.

Now you got chain links, if vs when timing, one card starters that plus into other one card starters, etc etc.

gaylord

Now you got chain links, if vs when timing, one card starters that plus into other one card starters

I've literally lost brain cells trying to see all what a motherfucker is doing when they start some link chain shit, like ok this card does-and its gone and linked summoned into something else.

ere ya go

this is why blue eyes is better

get Protocol Gardna from the Dice Rally

Why the fuck did this card require 2 Cyberse monsters?

protocol.jpg - 300x442, 59.3K

I don't understand why they banned this card rather than put down counters.
Literally get some counters like handtraps that go "If the enemy draw cards out of draw phase they received 8000 lp damage and their spouse divorce them" or something.

Time Turning Morganite. Dont play any effect monsters from the hand and you get a +2 the entire match, but yeah we need to ban Pot.

Ironically enough that's the deck I play. Everyone is bitching about bans while I'm having faggots giving up left and right cause they dont enjoy me summoning 4 dragons in one turn off one hand.

Purrely Horny Memory

I straight up don't give a shit anymore.

You didn't play real old school Yu-Gi-Oh back then. If you just went straight into Summoned Skull/Jinzo, it's going to get Black Hole/Raigeki'd. You had to pace yourself with GAF, Giant Ogre, and Spear Dragons until your opponent is forced to board wipe and then push for kill.

Summon Jinzo thinking you're hot shit

runs right into a man eater bug

Morganite is way worse than Pot of Greed, especially in today's win immediately or die meta
Morganite you have to wait a turn to get the advantage, and if you draw into another one it's a dead card, whereas Pot of Greed can get Pot of Greed can get Pot of Greed, and is an immediate effect that advances your gameplan right away

playground yugioh

cringe

I SUMMON POT OF GREED TO DRAW THREE ADDTIONAL CARDS FROM MY DECK

There's nothing playground about GAF>SS/Jinzo and then getting it wiped. All the kids at the LGS did that but the older kids knew better.

because wasting space on a card that counters pog and does nothing else is retarded

I feel dumb, it took me a while to realize you can activate Apple very easily by just kamikazing her on a opponent monster with higher ATK.
That said, the magician girls are ok but they need a lot help with negating nasty effects and especially deal with traps. You can lock spells with the secret village of spellcasters but that's usually not enough. Also forget your GY being your second deck, it's straight up your second hand with how this theme works.
tl;dr use Solemn Judgment

LOTD CPUs have an interesting interaction;
they refuse to attack Lemon unless your hand is empty or they got multiple powerful monsters on the field, but they don't mind attacking Chocolate despite knowing you can pull a DMG from the graveyard and always lose to her unless the monster has more than 4000 ATK, or a Lemon to activate her effect either way. Berry is also always targeted despite allowing a free summon from the deck and instantly flipping to def position.

Not remotely as retarded as it is right now.
