But after the TV grid exploration was culled, they lost their role gameplay and narrative-wise. So the devs had to rewrite them into combat characters. But it's very hamfisted: they get ether aptitude and super powers from a mcguffin, and all the characters start dropping "subtle" hints how they should gain some muscle and take combat lessons. And it's going to be bad from gameplay balance standpoint too. Playable MC is either always the most powerful character in the game and permalocks a slot in your party, or they're useless and you're never going to bench the supercore gacha characters for them.

How? I have 200+ pulls (for the non-standard banner, for the standard I have 300+) saved up in Nikke and have like 85-90% of the characters. I keep getting a few SSRs every ~50 pulls. I even skip out on dailies/weeklies sometimes because I'm too lazy. Nikke is the most generous gacha I've seen in a while desu. You also get those tickets from rolling which you can then use to just buy the character instantly, no need for pity. Also the fact that they add most characters to the standard banner is fucking great.

Meanwhile in ZZZ I'm lucky if I get a character before hitting 70 rolls. I'm constantly losing the 50/50 and I barely have anything saved up.

She has void hunter-tier strength but isn't one. It's because in this game Void Hunter is just a title bestowed by the goverment unlike HI3/Genshin/HSR where their super characters are actually special beings.

Granblue does it all the time. Sometimes you have something that fixes a character like Europa or Vikala, and then you have Chat Noir who gets 20 buffs and still sucks ass

Nerfing gacha characters is forbidden in the business. Buffing is perfectly fine but companies rarely do it because new characters generate vastly more revenue than re-running old ones. HSR is buffing a bunch of old characters next patch for example.

One way to do old character buffs that some games like to do (like Nikke) is to create new characters with niche kits that have very specific buffs that only apply to certain old characters.

I'm also a lucklet with bottom 23% pulls and I still get what I want/ Without spending a single cent, i can comfortably pull a new character every 2nd banner and if I wasnt a lucklet maybe each banner. The problem i have as a freemium player is that I don't have enough materials to lvl up agents yet alone minmax them. Got vivian and rat, skipped hugo and lighter banners and again i have enough polys for around another 100 pulls. And even now i can do shiryu 7/7 and get 7-9 stars on assault. Just recently did the void with 12/12 to check something and if anything, it was a slow slog while paying attention to agent hp constantly droping on gepetto
