I loved Pazaak so much I won all the tournaments got every card and had enough credits for the rest of the game.
I even downloaded the standalone fanmade Pazaak Cantina game and used to play competitively online with other people before it shutdown.
I've played a few different App versions and one of them Pazaak Cantina: Card Game is pretty good except its missing the Star Wars music and sound effects because those are copyrighted.
If I had IRL friends I would 100% buy a physical Pazaak set online and a few sets of Old Republic credits and force my them to learn and play the game.

By the time the game was to be released and the HK factory was supposed to be DLC through Xbox Live, the factory wasn’t restricted to the endgame and could be done any time after Nar Shadaa for some reason.

KOTOR II is quite literally the only instance of a piece of deconstructionist media that is well-made in the Star Wars franchise. It showcases an actual earnest attempt to show the weaknesses of BOTH Jedi and Sith. I maintain that KOTOR I is the better Star Wars game, while KOTOR II is the better overall game. The original game has the hero's journey as it should be, while the sequel has a more muddled tone that while incomplete is still quite fun.
Yeah, it gets pretty bad. You're just about done with most of the good shit, it goes downhill fast. I almost want to overexaggerate how bad it is so that you still have fun with it. At the end of the day there are parts that are still quite good and overall the Vong while uninspired are still far better than what came after. I honestly prefer it without the mod myself, but I download another mod to keep the changes to shops. In TSLRCM, you have a higher chance of getting high tier gear in the shops. Often times, you want to save scum before loading into an area with shops for the first time.

Hey, it's the original is what people got hooked on in the first place. I just did my first playthrough in forever without the mod and frankly I think I prefer the game without it, even if I did miss having some of the restored content here and there. In a way it's a sleeker experience even with the rougher edges and loose plot threads, though that could just be nostalgia.
I originally played the kotor games on xbox back in the day and I will never play KoTOR 2 without the RCM. The ending with HK and G0T0 being restored makes it worth it.
It's definately a better paced experience. If there was a light version that only had the Droid Factory, some of the narrative additions and the loot table changes, I'd play that instead. I hate what they did to Nar Shaddaa in particular.

Extra dialogue/narratives? Cool. Half-baked gimmicky gameplay sections? Nah.
What's always rubbed me the wrong way is they squeezed back in cut dialogue wherever they could fit it, whether it matched the intended context or not.
Been a while since I played KotOR 1, but does the soldier get 2 feats on the first level up on the Endar Spire? If you don't want to level at all on Taris, that would probably be the best starting class. The meta in the first game is to dump all Attributes into Strength and getting the equipment that buffs Strength. Blaster builds in that game are shit unless you have the Yavin Station DLC.
