The thing about Asriel is that his situation is pretty complicated in Undertale. He spent most of it as a soulless flower monster and his "true self" was that of being like, a seven year old. We don't really have a good idea of what an adult Asriel would be like.

This isn't entirely correct. They fall into similar ideas (Asgore is still a divorced dad for example) but their characters act pretty different. Sans especially seems way less open and enthusiastic in Deltarune. Might just be because Kris is kinda fuckin weird though.

Basically, the main characters were four kids, three of them constantly complained about their parents, while one of them, Dave, was raised by cool big brother who constantly had swordfights and rap-offs with him. Then right before the end of the comic Hussie decided to recontextualize the whole thing as Dave realizing that his legal guardian was a domestic abuser and a complete psychopath. While it didn't go against canon, many considered it too melodramatic and heavy-handed.

It does really well to set up Susie and Ralsei and a lot of the mysteries and strange happenings involved. But its also so clear that chapter 2 starts with a ton of new mechanics and a way more focused idea of what the little town was going to progress like.

If Sans was actively suspicious of Kris and targeting him, he would have approached him and made contact, like he does the literal second you walk out of the Ruins in Undertale.

Deltarune is said to be separate from undertale, and yeah I don’t think the UT ending is gonna change or chapter 7 is just the underground but as a dark world AU. but they’re absolutely related. Chapter 2 reveals that King knew of the Knight's plan to open a second fountain in the computer room. When taken with with other lines about the Knight in chapter 1, the most likely interpretation is that the Knight met him and told him about it.
By extension there's a good chance that the other card kings also met the Knight, or at least saw him.
Queen has definitely seen the Knight since she saw how the fountain was made.
Spamton and Jevil are a tossup. They may have met the Knight, may have only seen him, or may have learned about him from another source.

Frisk is not the reincarnation of Chara. The human you play as is Chara's dead body brought back to life, filled with their essence. They take the name Frisk at the end of a Pacifist run to put their old life behind them. This is the same reason Kris is not named Frisk or Chara, they also took a new name after leaving their old life behind them, but due to the different circumstances of their different universe, it was a slightly different name.

You can litigate the timeline and events to argue against Kris Knight but I think the implications for the wider narrative are more damaging
Kris has to be totally deceiving everyone to the point of much of their characterization just being a fake front. If Kris is the Knight there is absolutely no way Ralsei doesn't know, so he must have been colluding with Kris from the start (somehow), and the whole prophecy and basically every bit of Ralsei's characterization and interaction with Kris and Susie is a complete lie. Kris and Ralsei are both aware of us and spend much of their time together putting on a show for our benefit exclusively, yet Kris makes no effort to hide their actions from us when we're alone with them.
The Roaring would probably also have to be fake despite the substantial corroborating evidence for it and The Knight (Kris) being independently identified as "The Roaring Knight." Kris's motivation for opening fountains become even more unclear. Most people assume it has something to do with Dess, but Kris doesn't just ask Noelle or Susie or anyone to help with something they would certainly want to help with. Despite being unwilling to ask their friends for help, Kris is willing to endanger them and other innocent people by entrapping them in Dark Worlds without their knowledge, despite Kris being established as having basic moral decency.
Any of these would be damaging enough to the story on their own without considering the implications on what would happen after they were revealed. Susie reacted badly to Lancer's betrayal, this would be an order of magnitude beyond that. The story could not recover, but there's plenty of story left to go. Deltarune isn't a stranger to dramatic irony, but this is beyond creating tension in a narrative, this is snapping it in half and setting it on fire.

There's zero evidence that the King spoke with the Knight. His battle dialogue in chapter 1 suggests he saw the Knight (probably not clearly enough to be identifiable, like the video in Queen's mansion), but nothing more. The exchange between the King and the Queen at the end of chapter 2 implies they're already familiar with each other, explaining why he brings her up before she enters the room. Nowhere does it indicate he spoke to the Knight about the Queen.

Not even the person who wrote that book knows what "life force" is or what SOULs even do. We know plants don't have SOULs, but are alive. We know Kris CAN survive without his SOUL, so it's obviously not required for the body to remain functional. Whether or not it "complicates" things is another question. Despite his seemingly weakened movement, Kris performs 2 leaps across a room and walks normally without the SOUL at the end of Chapter 2, so I am inclined to believe that any "complications" are a put on at our expense, just like the threat with the knife at the end of Chapter 1.

Consider the introduction at the start of the game. Someone stole a SOUL from Gaster. That is not debated, right? So why would that someone go through the trouble of doing that just to put it into Kris? Would it not make sense for the person who stole the SOUL to be the same person who received it? And if it was Kris, would that not explain everything he has done to us? He has a use for us and is inclined to listen to us, but he can also ignore or contradict us whenever he wants, just like Susie. Moreover he is prepared for our arrival and shows no sign of shock or fear towards us at any point in the story so far, even after Snowgrave.
Is this really what we would expect from someone who is possessed by a force they cannot fight or know, who is some innocent person caught in the crossfire of Gaster nonsense? I find it hard to believe.

What makes you say Ralsei knows anything?

Well for starters, when Ralsei arrives in the Cyber World he claims he "felt a dark presence and hurried over," implying that the Dark World had only just formed and giving Kris an alibi — if what he says is true, Kris did not open the Cyber World fountain and cannot be The Knight. If Kris is The Knight, Ralsei must be lying.
