Gaming has reached a point where failure is good for the industry. And I mean total, utter and complete failure where all the business idiots pull their stocks and leave.

The whole problem with video games these days is that too many venture capitalist dumbasses have gotten too invested in it as an industry, and it's driving decisionmaking at companies that hurt creativity, by trying to make the same games as gaming is known for but without spending the kind of money you need to, in order to make it. They wanna see the same popular games recreated for less cost, and higher returns. That's literally why everyone's aiming for Live Service slop in the first place. Produce 40% of a normal game, and drip-feed the rest of it over time to maximize the investment.

And that leads to something that's even worse: That it's okay to be a mediocre, failure of a developer on a game project, like Suicide Squad, which was clearly developed by 200 nincompoops after Arkham Knight had some actual talent behind it. How does that happen if it's not because the company and the investors are driving it to rid itself of people that make games, you know, GOOD?

When everything's scorched down, there's no way to be succesful but to be the BEST of the BEST in the business. That's how gaming came to be in the beginning. It was ultra-geeky people, with various special interests, not fanboys or wannabes who play video games and wished they had made Breath of the Wild themselves. They're people who know how to make something they have in their mind, and are excited by the technical prospect of putting it together.
