They grab adaptation rights from games they publish and announce that they're "planning" an adaptation, so they pass on the rights to Story Kitchen to inflate their portfolio, because Kepler's CEO and the guy who runs Story Kitchen are friends, and Story Kitchen buys a fuckton of game adaptation rights they do nothing with. The only one they actually did something with was Sonic.

There were never actually going to do anything with the E33 IP, just like that Sifu adaptation has been dead in the water for years, but with E33's release surpassing all expectations massively, they may actually go ahead. It made them more money than all past Kepler projects combined, easily.

Speaking of Story Kitchen, I just opened their website to check something and noticed they massively bumped up E33 on their list of projects.
Some weeks ago, it was near the bottom, now it's only below the actual Sonic films and Tomb Raider as an IP. Goddamn Disco Elysium is under it, because of course nu-ZA/UM sold out the rights.
