I actually liked these games more then XY, and obviously more than SWSH
These were the games that made me lose all interest in pokemon. Glad I didn't miss anything.
I never hated those, and unlike everyone I'm not mad about a jrpg having cutscenes, my only complaint was the roads being too constricted

Ultra sun and moon were the last Pokémon games I enjoyed playing
Last gen I played and honestly I waited too long to drop the series. I liked most of the new mons and some of the ideas but execution was just bad. Good porn though.
It was too many cutscenes too often. The path through the game was really one long road with no branching paths.
What's the point of these games if you can just grind and rape everything?

X/Y were painfully mediocre and OR/AS was flawed.
After that, the Switch had had more losers than winners.
Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee was sabotaged by its wild encounters.
Sword/Shield were painfully mediocre again.
Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl are the worst remakes ever produced.
They at least turned it around with Legends Arceus, and Scarlet/Violet in some regards, and Legends Z-A might deliver, or it might not.
The Pokemon series really hit some bad lows after Gen V.
USM was the most ripped off I felt with a game. I went into it thinking it would be as good as Emerald and Platinum.

If the game opened up, leaned into the player being on a vacation instead of moving there, and scaled the totems to be tackled in any order, itd be max kino.

ORAS was the best. Why SM/USUM moved away from having the lower screen provide online accessibility, the EV training game and dexnav to just having that retarded rotomdex staring at you is beyond me. Oh wait no it's not, it's because Yokai Watch was raping Pokemon in Japan with sales so they copied it.

It wouldnt have been so bad if it had pro-controller support, my wrist hurts when I think about that game. The wild encounters felt like they cut corners to save money.

ORAS were the best games on 3DS because even a faithful remake of RS instead of Emerald is still a Hoenn game which immediately puts it leagues above the new from scratch content they made with Kalos and Alola. Best Switch games were Scarlet Violet in I'd say a 40/60 ratio of them actually being pretty good and the other games just being so damn bad(the fumble they did with BDSP needs to be studied)
