When

when

Whenever AMD finishes that new APU tech they're working on.

Hopefully 2027 at the latest, I need a decent handheld option the Switch 2 is garbage

At least 2 more years.

source

My ass

Just buy a Rog Ally X.

The only games that can't be played are shit with straight up malware anticheat that intentionally causes the game to kill itself when running on a Steam Deck

WOW WEN BALVE RELEASING A NEW DECK WITH THE NEW IGNORE "INTENTIONALLY BREAK THIS GAME ON THE STEAM DECK" MIDDLEWARE CHIP????

it runs anything made in the last 5 years like ass albeit and it burns my hands while doing it

Just buy a Legion Go.

Honestly I'm not sure if they're going to bother making a deck sequel when there's plans to have SteamOS on other gaming handhelds.

anything made in the last 5 years

All shit.
Except Pizza Tower
Which is and runs great

Why wouldn't they? It's the most popular handheld PC.

Legion Go 2*

The Legion Go 2 will have 20% more performance but cost $1000 instead of $500

Valve said that the tech isn't there yet.

Only thing I would want from a deck 2 is VRR support and a 120hz display.

but games run like dogshit!

Yeah like, 2% of them.
I play games that came out 20 years ago. Games that do support higher refresh rates too.

Just buy a Zotac Zone

A few years after the Deckard and SteamController 2

sorry bro, you'll be stuck on your obsolete deck for years

look mom I posted this lying shill garbage again!

buy an ad

anything I can't run is shit

that's sour grapes poorfag cope

tranny tower

great

lmao

Why is the Switch one loading half the assets and looks like 360p?

Fool that you are, you've freely established none of your gaming opinions are good and you could have just stuck to the fox and grapes cope.

The fact that they one of the main Switch 2 games being shilling is a port of a 5 year old game worries me.

Do you even know what 360p looks like or are you parroting buzzwords?

They said the announcement would come in 2026 minimum, so I'd say at least 2 years.

Great to know that the switch 2 gameplay footage looks so damn good you have to delude yourself into thinking it's a lie to cope with your dreck consolewar butthurt
cyberpunk on the deck is what 360p looks like

Wait, is the game really locked to 30 fps on the Switch 2 or is some "quality" mode bullshit?

looks so damn good

It looks like the ps4 version with dlss 2 lol I play it on PC with path tracing so idgaf about this console war faggotry

It is in dock mode, several people who have tried CP77 say that in portable mode it doesn't look much better than the Deck, it would be interesting to see how much the switch 2 consumes in total, I assume at least 30W minimum to achieve that in dock mode.

tendies believe that shit looks good

I know you've been stuck on a mid 2010s smartphone for 8 years but God damn are your standards for what looks good low. Also,

30 fps

Hahahahahahaha

They already said they were making a new one though

youtube.com/watch?v=GHlgHmdCVXo
I'm waiting for the Steam Deck or another handheld that has an 8060s and has a minimum duration of 2 to 3 hours at full power.

Why are tendies so obsessed with the deck? It was never released as a competitor to tendie products and 99% of people who own one don't use it as a primary gaming device, it's just a way to access your existing library on the go or if you want to lay down and veg to some lower spec games. Most of us deck owners have gaming PCs.

5 year old game for $70

30 fps in docked

$450 console

Honestly, hats off for Nintendo and CDPR for pulling off this scam. At this point you just gotta respect the grift.

It's probably because it's the only gaming device the Switch 2 theoretically is stronger than, they spent years claiming specs don't matter and now they're gloating about beating a 3 year old device(potentially). It's pretty pathetic.

I don't deny that it's a scam and I own a Steam Deck (I'm not going to pay full price for the same games twice to play them on a handheld), but I don't deny that the hardware catches my attention, aside from the "supposed" performance of the Switch 2.

when they think of some other cool portable pc hardware like the deck's trackpads
and only a few years after the deckard VR headset comes out

It's only slightly stronger than a steam deck except without any way to optimize games, there's a handful of way more powerful handhelds out there now.

docked vs handheld

shill?

were the SD card issues fixed? thats honestly the only thing that's holding me back

What's the rush? the first deck is still good enough. You don't need a new model every year

IIRC Valve said that they want at least double performance per watt. So maybe next gen GPU architecture.
Imagine giving it Silicon Carbide battery either to reduce weight or improve life.

Not years, decades. Even in the gamecube days they were doing this sort of shit.

Its over 3 years old, the rush is because it doesnt have enough power to run everything you expect it to. Shit like expedition 33 or ps3 emulation are perfect uses for the system and are on the cusp of working but there just isn't enough power.

Do we really have to repeat this dumb conversation every single time?

someone brings up handhelds

baiting tendie posts this image

someone points out its a docked image and the switch is weaker than the deck in handheld mode

tendie has a spaz attack and starts crying about digital foundry

tendie starts spamming the thread pretending everyone who disagrees with him is the same person

steam deck

steam deck 2

steam deck 2: episode one

steam deck 2: episode two

steam deck alyx

PS3 emulation maybe, but current pseudo AAA shit?
I don't understand buying any of these handhelds for games like that. Even on a high resolution display, if that display is 8'', I'm just thinking of lynch and watching movies on a fucking phone. Hell there's a few games out there that run pretty fine on the deck I would still not play anywhere but on a decent screen because of how everything is scaled.

pseudo AAA games aren't AAA, they are expensive indie games which are the perfect candidate for a handheld. I dont need to see an indie jrpg in 4k. same shit with capcom games, they dont look good enough for me to give a shit if I play them handheld but the screen is slightly too low res and the handheld is slightly too weak to handle it.

They're unoptimized to shit games that still require modern hardware the same way some AAA games do.
youtube.com/watch?v=1RC7-RFMzvI
Capcom is also known to currently put out games that don't even run half as well as they should on PCs magnitudes better than any current PC handheld.

nvidia is passing money under the table

he already knows the answer, the rest of the video is not needed

Valve stole my idea

I want my money.

The requirements on a desktop are much higher. A handheld only needs to run at 720p 30fps on med-high settings for it to be playable, any more is a bonus.

Fuck off scuf, nobody likes you

yo what the hell is this, it looks fucking retarded but i can tell it's designed to be super comfy since it applies the simple principle of placing the most used inputs (sticks and buttons) in a postion that makes the thumbs stay neutral

Nah modern games still run fine on the ally x. Lower resolution because of smaller screen and fluid frames help a lot. It's really only the steam deck that can no longer play anything new.

you lost tendie
enjoy getting raped by $70 games, the eSlop and NSO subscription costs

t. watched tendies have their virtual console games stolen by nintendo

Meanwhile in reality.
Docked mode, by the way
