i can't see this happening desu, i can go online right now and pre order one on the UK nintendo site and it releases in 9 or 10 days, compare this to the switch 1 and wii releases where it was literally impossible to buy one until about a year after release unless you'd had a pre order in for months

There is LITERALLY no reason to drop $500 DOLLARY DOOS on it if you don't care about playing Mario or Pokemon. The only "new" games dropping on June 5th are Mario Kart: World, and DANKEY KANG BANANA RUMBLE or whatever. That's it.

Everything else is just "enhanced" versions of games that already came out that you most likely already played. If you don't like Mario Kart or DANKEY KANG, then you'll have nothing to even play on it. Only a handful of games are releasing with "performance" enhancements, it's not like EVERY Switch 1 game is immediately getting enhanced on the Switch 2.

The game won't run at 60 FPS or play at 4K unless the developers behind the game make that change for the Switch 2 version.

Better framerate is all I need from pokemon. (And uhhh... other things)

I could also add getting back to TotK with the upgrade, but I'll save that for the future since I've been wanting to do a Wind Waker playthrough for years and specifically put it off for a potential Switch release. Got the Thursday and Friday booked off work. Nintendo Store just took my payment, so the order process has started.

I've been so excited I've been playing a bunch of the other classics. Nearly done with Round 1 in Pokemon Stadium, unlocked Expert in Star Fox 64, played Fire Emblem Sacred Stones for the first time and finished it. I started Goldeneye yesterday too, BUT apparently they just confirmed Switch 2 patch for N64 has button remapping on a per-game basis so I might stop playing there and save that for then.

The wait is so slow but fuck, I'm excited.

Might be nice. I personally didn't like BotW or ToTK, just didn't like the "open world" approach to Zelda and didn't like how the game played/looked. The update will let it run at 60 FPS in 4K so that could be a game changer, won't look as blurry and the animations will be much smoother.

I’m looking forward to the lifespan of the Switch 2. I’m going to be honest, nothing releasing with it has me excited enough to go buy one right away. I don’t play Mario Kart by myself or online. It’s one of those games you pull out when you have people over, and there are 5+ of them that you can play right now. In some ways the 8 Deluxe DLC ate into any hype for me. If it had been a decade since any new kart content then maybe I would have been interested in day 1.

I was really hoping that the TOTK and BOTW "upgrades" would fix the abhorrent problems, but they don't address any of the issues. It sucks. Just a minor bump in framerate and maybe a faster loading time, but that doesn't seem like it's worth it. They didn't even fix BOTW's master mode, which is just a lazy damage sponge effect on most enemies, and TOTK? Didn't even bother with them.

Well, the uninspired and boring side quests, the filler content like the koroks and addison signs, the lack of any proper difficulty modes, the excess amount of filler items that will never see practical use, the braindead enemy AI that's too easy to cheese, and I've yet to hear if they're gonna address the obnoxious problems like vehicles despawning for no reason.

With the switch 1, going physical was always better. I bought many indie games knowing I could resell the game afterwards if I enjoyed it or not. It helped physical copies became much cheaper than digital over time due to costs with housing copies on Amazon. Switch 2's new version of physical copies outside first parties sting, since the valuation of the games might be lower. Piracy is always the best way to archive games anyways.

I genuinely hope the Switch 2 turns out good because I want to want it. But for now, I’m not feeling the hype, and that has more to do with a lack of satisfaction with the Switch than it does with the Switch 2 reveal. Just not a fan of the direction the company has been going for the last decade.

I fully expect the console to do well, regardless. Console warring in 2025 is pretty gay.

Don't think I'm going to get an SD card at launch. I'll just archive a bunch of games I don't play as much.

Character-wise it’s the mooks and costumes that require unlocking whereas all the normal characters are in from the start should I hazard a guess. As for karts/bikes picrel seems to be the starting line-up, though you unlock a new one for every 100 coins so it shouldn’t be an issue getting new ones
As for playing myself i’ll probably spend launch doing the grand prix and familiarizing myself with the open world, then hop online for the Anon Babbleeekend

I've already pre purchased but the lineup is very disappointing, I'm going to enjoy Mario Kart and Donkey Kong but then it's literally just Switch upgrades until Metroid Prime 4, another Switch upgrade, then next year nothing, Duskbloods looks boring, and it's 30fps, Elden Ring was legitimately bad and completely shat on the established formula which was eroded with every game anyway.
