The sinclair status also gives a bit of offense level which is nice, but also you misread; it says reuse the SKILL if the conditions are met which should mean a full double EGO usage then the kill self. Not sure if that means double sin consumption but since it kills him it's not like you have to worry about SP loss or negative sin resource corrosion.

I don't think innovation is the word I'd use. Innovation implies that there's some kind of forward progress for the genre its pushing, which I don't think is the case. Its more that the things that are atypical for the genre make the game unique amongst its peers.
Look at how it handles characters for an example. Every gacha game handles characters the same way given they're usually the primary monetization method: new characters are introduced in the story or have an event the same time their banner goes up. They will get a lot of focus as a form of advertisement to encourage you to roll for them. This means that gacha characters have to sell themselves usually on their design and the briefest snippets of their usually 1 dimensional personalities that you get to see. Its kinda similar to the appeal of fighting game characters. Are they fun to play? Do they look cool? Etc... And there must always be new characters to market so you can make money

Limbus Company 12 playable characters and only 12 playable characters. All IDs are simply alternate universe versions of those 12. These characters are largely unlikable early on which can make them difficult to connect with (AKA want to roll for). And yet having a core cast of 12 that remains unchanging means that you get a lot of time with them. The entire story gets to revolve around them, their development, their relationships with each other, and so on. Its more like a JRPG with a larger than average cast than a gacha in how it is presented to the player. It might not optimize money making but it does mean that the Sinners are pretty objectively superior to every other gacha game character to ever exist (I am allowed to say that I payed for the Exusiai statue).

Do you not have access to the MD? If you really don't have enough IDs of any status to run a single unified team, do yourself a favor and pick a status and just shard the best IDs for it. Burn is probably the easiest to build because the only necessary component is bullet Outis for the dark flame nukes and just grab whatever burn units you can get your hands on because the status is piss easy to build even without micromanagement. Firefist greg and Philip Sinclair are probably the best units to get and if you don't care enough to bring a full team you might as well fill the rest with sinking units to keep the boss' SP nice and low

Just focus on applying very good sinking at the start of the battle so that whenever her SP resets or boosts back up you can push her back down, that way you can direct your good damage skills on the cradle and clash her annoying moves with S1s and S2s.
Probably should also let a few sinners stagger as early as possible so you can avoid a bad stagger at a terrible moment.

The boss lets you amass a great amount of statuses since he has only 1 part, equal speed, and no cleanse of any kind, just a damage reduction. I would think statuses are good in general. If you read his passives you can even see he takes damage from sinking so that is what I used. You dont "need" the sp debuff (I tried other teams) but it makes it a lot easier to deal with if you have bad rng or fail to cycle your skills properly

Sinking especially nullifies a lot of the damage his unbreakable coins have, and makes his later powerspike actually winable. Rodya is great for tanking unbreakable coins too with her insight mechanic/shield hp.

I was winning handily but rolled tails on his big AOE and he just alternated between staggering half my when he only had 800 HP left my first run.

Second run I just bled him and abused Red shoes so he could suck on every single red coin he played.

I don't understand how you are supposed to recover after a bad turn. This is something that i have felt being an issue from day 1 of this game. The director continues insisting upon these fights taking longer and longer but the RNG+ the length of the fights make some of them be incredibly infuriating. I can lose no clash for 12 turns and the moment one clash is lost its all downhill and reinforcements will not help you recover.

You use your brain and think ahead instead of thinking turn by turn.
If you see your entire team is filled with IDs all one coin hit away from stagger you think about what can happen next turn.
If I see all my IDs can be vulnerable to one AOE I let some get staggered ahead of time so I don't have to worry about that later on even if it means they take free damage right now.

Regardless, gacha IDs (which are grindable) vary in strengths, synergies, and utility.
You're in luck since Mao Faust is easily the strongest ID in the game by a significant margin.
Seasonally we have an event called "Walpurgisnacht" which is a temporary banner of IDs that cannot be purchased with shards (until the subsequent Walpurgisnacht).
The IDs in that event have been very strong and most players save their rolling currency until it comes around.
We're due for one since the Canto just ended, so I'd say save your currency for rolling until then.

I haven't used her myself for the fight but she can purge debuffs on herself.
That should at least remove some of the trouble you get from him getting coin power from tremor/burn existing on targets.
Plus she's neutral to slash so that's better than nothing, and her base EGO only makes her take real damage from his Envy skills.
That's the last piece of advice I can possibly give you, otherwise I may as well just play the fight for you.
