The mere mention of AI...

the mere mention of AI, some people get viscerally angry and start typing "AI SLOP AI SLOP" and to me it feels kind of performative

Does Anon Babble feel called out by the notorious video gamer Jay Bauman?

Link? Surprised a gay lib would say that.

Rare Jay L
It's not performative, I have been witnessing first hand the effects of the internet sloppifying because of AI
If you aren't gonna put in the effort to make your own shit and need to proompt it, why in the fuck would I pay for it?
I will never pay for AIslop

Who?

Alright, fine, I'll watch this one hour video. You sold me on it. I can't believe these hacks are gonna defend AI Jeets.

Don't know who this is but I've been saying it the entire time AI is going to be used to shill stuff to you nonstop and that's exactly what has happened.

Ok, 4 minutes in and I can already tell that this was just bait by OP. Good job. Here's the actual full quote.

There are people that whenever you mention A.I., in any capacity, in any form, because there are a lot of different things that A.I. does, there are a lot of different utilizations for it. But just the mere mention of it, some people get like viscerally angry and they start typing A.I. SLOP A.I. SLOP and they get very upset. And to me it feels kind of performative. So that's my hot take. I hate A.I. in the world of art. So, there's different utilizations of it. Some, I think, can be done, more, I don't know, maybe you want to say """ethically""". If people just use it as like a search engine

So, no, Jay isn't pro-AI slop sloppifying vidya or movies or tv shows. Maybe there's some use for it in medicine or whatever, but that's not relevant to Anon Babble.

Turns out it's not a Jay L after all.

AI benefits the Right far more than the Left and that's why you see all the anti-AI shills screech nonstop.

A slop creator that does all your work for you based on your idea guy proompts benefits my side more

Why would you self own like this?

.png - 861x877, 146.99K

They still shit on it without fully understanding it.

Nooo, you need to understand the full breadth of the technical complexity of AI to be against the slop it inherently produces

Alright, and you need to have a degree in chemistry and have a 50 page dissertation on Skatole before you can complain about me shitting on your face

Turning corpo slop into directionbrain invalid babble

Every time I see this, I'm convinced more and more that the only people backing and supporting AI are Indians who think they can create a career out of AI or literal corporate hires paid to astroturf AI and expend massive amounts of effort trying to convince people it's more than just the latest slop factory.

frognigger

profound mental retardation

Many such cases!

No, anon, it's brainlets that got fooled by those exact people.
And also just people that see trannies and SJWs bitching about AI and then go "Ok, I have to support AI now"
These people could be convinced that breathing oxygen is bad if SJWs went on a campaign to promote it.

I think people who get legitimately angry at someone using AI to generate what is effectively a stock image for a fucking background are loons.

the moment someone uses AI for something, that thing and that someone are immediately dead to me, not because of some moral principle or anything but just for the simple reason that this someone doesn't want to bother actually making it
if someone doesn't want to bother making it, why the fuck would I bother experiencing it?

it's even worse when it's used for details, or background filler stuff, to streamline the process or however you may want to call it. When Zun tries to justify making AI backgrounds all I hear is, "I just want to get done with game." and it undermines everything he presents from now on to me . It's like going to a restaurant and they give you your food with a bunch of ketchup on top because they just didn't want to bother making the sauce today, but hey, they cooked the rest of the food so it's just one thing, right? Not a big deal.
AI is the ultimate fuck you to the fan and that's all it is in the end. Slop will be slop.

But that's literally my point. The present directionbrain retardation literally only serves to benefit corporate entities by way of convincing people who also have directionbrain-related cerebral fracturing that the "Other direction" hates AI, and thus you /should/ love AI, or that "Our direction" is going to use AI in the future while "BAD DIRECTION" is going to get fucking rekt and owned by us gods.

Just because he's gay doesn't mean he's retarded.

I know, I was just arguing specifically with your point that you are replying to shills.
You're not replying to shills. You're replying to retards that got shilled.

Why do NPCs keep insisting AI is more than just a tool? They build up these unreasonable expectations in their heads and then act all pissy when those expectations are inevitably missed.

needs mountain range to house PC

dedicated reactor for electricity

cooling from water turbine/dam just to generate cock eyed anime girl with 6 fingers blending in with her torso

yeah nothing wrong with wasting natural resources

Nothing—good or bad—will come from "AI". No utopia and no "sloppified" dystopia.
If you're think otherwise you're either old, brown, leftist or a combination of the three.

The opposite end to the hysterical artists are the people so freaked out by it they pretend to embrace it in order to prove they aren't scared, like the slave who embraces his master and copes that he isn't trapped.

Ultimately it's just the difference between a creation and a "product". Something that an artist put together will usually be something they wanted to make because making it and the process of honing their own abilities and building something they desired is the core focus of the process of creation. You don't just "make" something because of a compulsion to do so, you do so because you have a desire, passion, and/or drive to do so, and you might not be perfect at it, but if you genuinely want it made, you'll fucking do it, even if it's not the best in the world.

A product is something assembled in order to be sold. Nothing made by an AI prompter has any love put into it, any true desire other than quickly accruing income, and frequently they wind up lying about their shitty prompted "works" only because they are fully aware that will negatively impact potential for it to sell. Nothing made by someone using AI was made with the intent to Create something, it's uniformly just a tool to more quickly generate Products to be issued immediately and sold to generate more revenue and nothing else. There's no beautiful artist's touch, no grand narrative, just revenue streams and nothing else.

The destruction of copyright law benefits the right

the moment someone uses photography for something, that thing and that someone are immediately dead to me, not because of some moral principle or anything but just for the simple reason that this someone doesn't want to bother actually painting it

if someone doesn't want to bother painting it, why the fuck would I bother experiencing it?

Imagine being scared of a glorified Photoshop.

The destruction of copyright law is a pillar of anarcho capitalism.

Weird since a lot of right leaning people claim to love merit, hard work and skill.

There's the photography analogy, I'd say we're about 2-3 posts away from the horse and car analogy.

No artist ever embraced photography, or photoshop . . .

Im indifferent to AI because humans made it easy to replace themselves. Look at modern arts and tell me human art is something worth protecting over what AI is making.

costs less

produced faster

has more creative input as without the cost and production to consider, they can get ridiculous with concepts

often produces art better than standard artists

In an ideal world AI is an argument of replaceing something beautiful that is human, in reality it is something beautiful replacing something that adopted bizaree standards for what it considers "good".

Shit, we might even actually get 2d animated movies again because of AI, and for designs and aesthetics to be based around what people want to see rather than what shitty modern artists are making. They just had to be better at what they did, and they chose to instead try to redefine the standards, it didnt work, and now the replacement has come. Id be sad if I actually felt like we were losing something.

literally what or who are you talking about

I wonder how much they got paid for that episode?

I accept your concession

Nah next is the AIfag flooding the thread with 100 shitty pics of the same character

At least $46k a month

file.png - 1208x939, 431.25K

if the game looks like shit don't play it, if the game looks good why do you care

Look at what the tohou artist just said about AI after making a bunch of slop which nobody likes, then look at the legendary SMT artist who shat out an embarrassing product that ruined his reputation. This is the advanced level of contrarian cope driven by existential fear.

The slavecattle substratum of Homo sapiens sapiens have been screeching about this or that technology replacing humanity since the beginning of history. It's never happened; they've been wrong every single time without fail, and they'll be wrong this time as well.

plus VAT

You have to pay taxes when donating money to people lmfao

He's right. I've seen content that is perfectly good and looks fine, something you can't even tell is AI, but retards will still call it slop.

I personally use and fuck around with AI alot and have been doing so almost since day 1. I have no problem with using AI tools to speed up work or even just make shit with SD if you don't know or have the time to draw. What I have a problem with is low effort slop, if you're gonna put something out there, post something for everyone to see, publish something then put in the effort. I should not be able to tell at first glance that it's AI, and if I can it has to be either interesting or serve a purpose.

The main problem with obvious AI use in a commercial product is that it's often an indicator of low effort, aggressive cost cutting, or incompetence, often all three combined.

low effort slop

Not a problem exclusive to AI

Ramdeep... stop spamming your queer off-topic AI threads and maybe people won't bully you as much

value added tax

no value added

I just avoid consuming the AI slop. Therefore, I don't get angry.

Complaining about the *use* of AI tools is kinda like complaining about the use of Photoshop. It's not what you use, it's how you use it
Too deep for 4channel

he’s right

mike was too much of a boomer to even set up his own emulators and that was like 15 years ago

Jay is correct

But yes there shouldn't be 24/7 AI spam generals on every single board

Duality of man.

Jay hates whatever (straight) men are doing.
He's the reason I unsubbed from RLM back during the pandemic. Should have did it sooner.

They also claim to love the constitution and law and order, yet elected a convicted fellon that keeps trying to pass anticonstitutionnal decrees...
It's pretty obvious that all the Republican ""values"" are merely elections time posturing and the only real things they value are greed and power.

I will never consume media that uses Photoshop - all it does is prove that you don't care enough to BOTHER picking up an easel and paintbrush

you WILL enjoy the AI slop
stop resisting

Yeah the tool that requires a modicum of understanding to use is totally equivalent and has the same use case as the infinite slop machine that lets shitskins spam 5,000 variations of the same deformed anime girl in slightly different poses.

AI isn't a tool it's a cognitive outsourcing system. It's the same as hiring an Indian consultant to decide and make shit for you. You can pretend like Indian was your tool but he's the one who did all the work

Just label any work that contains AI use and the people who dislike AI stuff don't have to interact with it. Big Corporations hate this obviously since dividing the audience into niches is against their core tenet of going for the maximum broad audience possible.

It's a tool. A "cognitive outsourcing system" is just an AGI

It's not what you use, it's how you use it

You literally are so angry you become dyslexic, OP is correct about some becoming irrational retards

I'm using AI to help me create a city and social structure in a D&D campaign

You couldn't force me to put a "made with AI" on the box even if you wanted to.

some of you people are so delusional about AI its kind of crazy. Like watching boomers try to talk about modern society.

People spamming AI creations on image sites don't like to tag their stuff because they know it'll get filtered.

infinite slop machine that lets shitskins spam 5,000 variations of the same deformed anime girl in slightly different poses

You just described photoshop.

Obviously I'm talking about professional stuff. Hobby shit is literally irrelevant.
If you intend to actually SELL AI made stuff and it gets out that you deliberately concealed this, you have nobody to blame but yourself for the blowback.

every image site that i know of does tag it, what are you talking about

doesn't want to bother actually making it

r u rarted
do you make everything you use in your... nevermind, do you make anything you use in your dailly life?

man who does't know what a lora or CFG scale is lecturing to you about AI generation

typical

Why do AIsloppers hate creativity anyway?

Are you ok, anon?

People getting irrationally angry about things being made with the help of AI are a minority

I don't think there will be any blowback, it's all a performative virtue signal by guys like you with your new thing to hate.

In that case there should be literally no issue in labelling your stuff as AI made, right?

Then why were you so angry at the idea of being forced to put "made with AI" on the box of your imaginary work?

This is the kind of retard logic that has every other teen in the country hooked on galaxy gas because they're just for making whipped cream bro.

Why don't AIsloppers include the full quote of what he said?

Concession accepted

get ready for 10 years without any AI regulation

this is how sky net happens

Superstitious idiot.

You couldn't force me to put a "made with AI" on the box even if you wanted to.

Yeah but good luck trying to sell that shit to other people. Why would I pay money to you for your AI slop when I can create my own AI slop for free? Thats the thing you pajeets fail to understand, when something is so accessible that it can be created with a push of a button, nobody is going to pay money for it, your DnD campaigns have no future because they are generic AI slop indistinguishable from my generic AI slop.

I'm not angry about putting "made with AI" on anything, I just don't have to do it and you can't force me to do it.

And there would literally be no way for you to know if something I've made was done with the help of an AI.

That's how irrational and delusional you are about this. From AI giving me advice, to helping structure and format a document, or create a stat-block for a creature that's relatively balanced. You would quite literally never be able to tell, meanwhile it's saving me hours of on/off work.

You haven't yet made any argument for why I shouldn't do this, except some libtarded moralizing, finger wagging, and shaming tactics, like a couple of women lol

AItard stock response #3 of 10

get ready for 10 years without any AI regulation

Theres already regulation for AI porn in place. Only a matter of time until big IP companies like Disney hurt their feelings and ban AIs from generating Disney princesses.

I don't know who that is or what point you're trying to make, but I'll go on record to say I do enjoy a little bit of AI slop every now and again. Just in moderation.
Not for any particular reason, of course. I just like it is all

Then don't buy my module (I doubt you even play tabletop RPG's anyway), and just go through the trouble of making it yourself.
I'm not going to stop you, and I don't care if you do it.

Then don't buy my module

My point is that nobody is going to buy your module.

I really don't care if they do or not

Sorry bro, that Indian isn't your tool, he did all the work. You can pretend he didn't and you can take all the credit but the results speak louder than words.

Some, I think, can be done, more, I don't know, maybe you want to say """ethically""". If people just use it as like a search engine

Except we have real search engines that can quickly give you the correct result in half a second.

I watched some retard yesterday go "hey AI bot, is salt really that bad for you?" and it pulled up some junk study about cardiovascular implications with a very restrictive salt intake from a decade ago that has since been mostly discredited given it used flawed methodology. But 10 years ago some puff piece journo used it for an article, and that article was probably part of the training data.

Complex topics are quickly reduced to "yes, you're right!" and biased sources. Sure, you could argue that the same retard could google "salt actually good for you?" and find some junk article in the modern day to affirm their beliefs, but these days those articles are probably written by AI anyway. It just makes everyone dumber, and reduces the responsibility of the end user to critically judge the information presented to them. For humans, AI is an absolute chore to navigate around already, and it's only going to get worse as more and more AI papers get churned out and the reproducibility crisis goes from "most studies are a joke" to "99.9% of studies are a joke" overnight.

holy fuckkkk
my diiiick

I'm not angry about having to reveal my real gender I just don't have to do it and you can't force me to not use the women's bathroom

Okay AI tranny

People are already buying AI made products. Stop coping

They hate what they don't have which is why all they are able to prompt is fan art and big tittied anime girls.

I'm still watching this video, there is this interesting perspective Mike brought to the table related to this

Things are evolving quickly, and very soon, people might be able to create a completely photorealistic, very deceptive "real" trailer for either a movie that's coming out or a fictional movie that they invented, a Titanic 2. Where it would be indistinguishable from a real trailer. [...] I think this will get worse for studios because there's a concept called "Confusion in the market place", which is a legal definition of problems that arise when someone tries to steal or mimic your brand. You can't create a restaurant called Berger King even if your last name is Berger.

Corporations are the biggest villains of our times, but they may in fact be our only hope against AIslop.

literally a skill issue, learn to proompt

And there would literally be no way for you to know if something I've made was done with the help of an AI.

This is the funniest thing about AI jeets. They legitimately think nobody can notice, because they can't notice.

I really don't care if they do

You care enough to argue against it. I create my own porn animations with Honey Select all the time yet I don't go to Anon Babble and get upset when people say nobody would pay me money for it. You're clearly upset about the fact someone told the truth that nobody will ever buy your AI slop and the moment your group hears AI wrote the campaign they'll get disinterested and start goofing around ruining your session instead.

Genuinely retarded take

People are already buying AI made products.

Name an example.

You can just play your campaign with AI as well at this point. No need to get any humans involved at all.

when you side with megacorporations on literally any issue, and yes i do mean literally any issue, its time for some serious self-reflection

Simply put, I'm gonna be one of those annoying vegans but against AIslop

I will buy a game that is advertised as not being made with AI. It turns out it was made with AI? I blacklist that developer and publisher. Rinse and repeat.

Over time, this will assure that I never pay money for AIslop.

I don't think I'll be in the majority on this, unfortunately. Humanity always goes to the path of least resistance, and in this case, it's giving in to AIslop, but at the same time I have hope that this niche will always exist at least for as long as I live. And that's gonna have to be good enough for me.

lol

There's this one guy who makes great femworgslop and posts it in /wowg/ every now and again
If there's one reason to visit that godforsaken place, it's that one man and his work

not my problem, unticking these is the equivalent of swimming in a sewer

You're a superstitious retard.

yes, i only speak via cliches because my IQ is 64

What if i am a one man dev and the only way to have voice acting in my indie game is to use ai to generate voices?

He wasn't siding with them, he was saying that a tsunami of lawsuits are on the horizon for AI. Any AI program that asks for money has to censor its own AI so you can't generate copyrighted material. The new Google AI can't do porn at all for example. Youtube fake movie trailers are playing with fire and the moment their channel grows too lucrative is the moment the owner of the movie IPs are going to shut those pajeets down.

AI doesn't make old copyright laws magically disappear.

The thing is that megacorporations are simultaneously for and against AI. They would love to use AI to have the work be done by a single machine entity without having to pay any actual real people. If Disney finds a magic AI that lets them make movies as good as what they make with just a prompt, they will never pay anyone ever again and 99% of the people at their creative offices will get fired (They will have to wait a bit longer after that to fire all their amusement park people). But on the other hand, they don't want any random AIjeet to use a prompter like that and create movies as good as theirs, because then Disney itself would be worthless and irrelevant.

AI has become a nuke. And we are gonna have to reach a state of mutual self assured destruction so that we can have AI disarmament, which would save art from becoming a slop supernova. That's our best way out of this mess. The other alternative is that all media becomes infinite slop as far as the eye can see.

NOOOOOO PLEASE LIKE MY AISLOP

No, jeet. See:

AAAAAIIIIIIIIIEEEEE PAY VOICE ACTORS
PAY THEM PAY THEM PAY THEM

I hate to admit it but I agree with you
I hate having a fetish that's so specific barely any artist make anything that appeals to you

it's a 10 year moratorium on new state regulations on AI, so it would prevent (for example) california from banning AI in movies

Actually you're the jeet, because jeets are more likely to believe in superstitious nonsense like AI = demons

shut up

Youre laughing like this isnt happening regardless of your consent or if you even take it seriously.

It would unironically be more soulful if you asked random people on the street for voice samples and did all main characters yourself

no u

Nah ur the jeet cause you're making shit up about demons and I never said anything of the sort.

Well, feel free to tell me how you would notice? If I ask chatgpt to gin up a balanced stat block for a chaos spider in x roleplaying system, and then I typeset and place this statblock in a roleplaying module with a story that was outlined for me by an AI with connecting important characters (and fleshing out their personalities) whom I've then written stories for/about, and all this for players to use as reference - please enlighten me at what stage of this will you notice that an AI was involved?

You seem to believe you have psychic powers - and yet even the most incredibly obvious AI artwork is still fooling about 90% of people, let alone using AI as guidance and time saving tool for relatively mundane work, and you believe I'm the one being delusional here.

I'm not upset about anything, I just think you and your friend are genuinely retarded for getting so bent out of shape over AI, and you'll both be consuming AI-produced works in short order none the wiser until someone points it out and you can then do your foot-stomping virtue signal performance over how slighted you are that they dare infringe upon your eyes such unholy AI slop.

Just new woke libtards 2.0 or 3.0 or whatever.

That's true, and I think people will start edging towards that in time as AI improves, but for my purposes - just making an interesting setting and story matter more to me than money or acceptance. I create things because I want to, and I'll use AI because I want to, and I don't care what other people think of that.

Opinion from a guy that blabbers about movies on YouTube

as much I like RLM why should we give a shit about their takes about AI?

doesn't deny that he's a jeet

curse vishnu by name

He's 100% right.
Just check these retards on twitter.

So we're ultimately going to see this new technology and really anything like it crippled by... corporate interests?

How are we even meant to get to this supposed "singularity" (not that LLM were ever going to get there) where a hyper advanced super AI comes about if the technology is just going to effectively lobotimized the second it comes out of the gate? I don't even like shit like AI generated slop art but this is just upsetting.

By that logic, you didn't deny it either in . Except I'm not a jeet and you are kekaroo.

I would rather no voice acting over professional VAs in most cases, but between no voice acting and uncannier microsoft sam it's going to be no voice acting every fucking time.

it's a 10 year moratorium on new state regulations on AI,

But you don't need new AI regulations to impose old copyright laws on AI generated material. AI still lives in this grey area where big publishers haven't caught up to it yet so people can prompt whatever copyrighted material they want but thats not going to last forever.
Good example Twitch. Back in the day everyone played their Spotify list in the background while streaming games. It took a couple of years until music labels realized what was going on and put a stop to that shit. Now most streams only play video game soundtracks because those don't get you banned by copyright algorithms.

IMG_9830.png - 1024x1001, 1.02M

didn't curse vishnu by name

Uh oh, jeet detected

it is unironically funny to see people seethe about AI

the real TRVKE is buried in the video when mike says that ai works the same way people do, you take inputs your whole life and then output something, its always going to be influenced by other media. ai is the same except it has quadrillion times more inputs than you.

You shouldn't
They even separate it into a whole nother show that wasn't hitb or re:view
they could've just sneak this is in one of the hitb but they didn't. this black screen show or whatever is just for random shit they want to talk about
one of the videos in this series is literally just mike telling rich the titles of low budget ripoff movies

because it's a grey area, they would want to make laws that ban the use of training on images without permission or whatever

I just think you and your friend are genuinely retarded for getting so bent out of shape over AI, and you'll both be consuming AI-produced works in short order none the wiser until someone points it out and you can then do your foot-stomping virtue signal performance over how slighted you are that they dare infringe upon your eyes such unholy AI slop.

Why does it bother you so much that I, that anon and his friend want to consume media that people actually bothered to put the work in rather than shit they just proompted?

Let me give you a food analogy, a Anon Babble classic. If a scientist manages to make a burger made of shit that tastes like a normal mediocre burger, you eat that burger, you think it's fine and unnoteworthy, and then you find out it's made of shit, are you gonna go "Oh well, I didn't notice, so I guess I'll eat shit burgers from now on"? Cause I won't.

I'm not upset about anything

Yes you are, you keep responding. Why would I buy your DnD module or AI product when I can create my own AI product for free? Theres no market for AI products because everyone can create their own.

I just won't use AI or pay for what it "creates". Simple as that.

just making an interesting setting and story matter

But you aren't making anything interesting. The AI is writing slop, and you're too braindead to see that it's slop. When you release your turd to the public, they will turn their noses up at it, and then you'll get upset and cry about how unfair it is that you can't have a program write half your shit for you.

If you had anything interesting to say, you'd just be saying it by yourself. You wouldn't need the AI to write most of it for you.

People be saying this but buy ketchup from the store instead of cooking their own ketchup.
They really do be buying salt from the store instead of living by the sea and make their own salt everyday.
What's wrong with american and their double standards?

NOOOOO YOU CANT USE EDITING SOFTWARE YOU CANT JUST LET SOME COMPUTER DO ALL THE CUTTING FOR YOU TRUE ART USES REAL PEOPLE CUTTING THE ACTUAL FILM STOCK USING REAL SCISSORS MADE BY REAL PEOPLE DIGITAL EDITING IS SLOP AND WILL NEVER BE ART NOOOOOOOOOO

usually people choose food analogies because they're both universal and easy to understand, it's a rare sight to see someone absolutely butcher the analogy so it makes no sense whatsoever
jesus christ dude

Even Christopher Lee couldn't fix this script kek, also it's about on par with every other english dub voiced by twitter retards

slop

slop

slop

You're a biological AI trained on the word "slop". Try thinking for yourself

Copyright strikes exist on streams because the person is making money while the music is being played and it's seen as profiting, in part, from it. Think of it like the radio but without owning the rights to play the music.

The AI stuff tends to fall under the umbrella of art (regardless of how you define it via human element) and art has the safeguard of transformative elements that already exist. However, if someone is selling AI-generated material that could be SEEN as copyright infringement, then I don't see a lawsuit not happening.

So we're ultimately going to see this new technology and really anything like it crippled by... corporate interests?

Yeah. Or at least you can't make any money with prompting copyrighted material with AI. Anon Babble can have DALL-E threads forever as long as anons don't start posting Patreon links in the thread.

Thats the thing about copyright law. Technically when you draw Donald Duck on the paper, you're already breaking the law but nobody is going to supervise or prosecute what you're doing privately at your own home. Its only when you start selling Donald Duck t-shirts for money when Disney will crush you like a bug. Its the money thats the key.

Sure, they might regulate what material you use for AI, thats true. But most laws that would limit AI companies are already in place.

Yes, but the result of that is that it makes something generic. I feel like most artists and creatives today do not have much experiences which is why their stuff feels forgettable or intangible.

Artists today are basically punching in, doing what they are told, getting a paycheck and getting out, or are working in abstracts that only have meaning if you ask what the meaning is and the image itself is nonsense.

TLDR: I think modern art is failing because the people making art lack life experience. Theyre too comfortable.

Answer, anon.
The burger tastes fine and is unnoteworthy. It's made of shit. This is a hypothetical scenario that is a few decades away from your hypothetical scenario where developers can just make insanely great games that are just as good as non-AIslop without anyone noticing.

Would you eat the shit burgers from that point forward?

I'm fine with AI as long as it's good enough that I can't tell
the problem is right now almost none of it is, especially visually. Voices is something it will probably be able to do pretty soon so it is justifiable how much VAs are sperging out about it

how do you know it's shit, it's not even out yet?

When the guy squatting over my plate lays a golden egg, maybe I'll stop calling it slop. But we are decades away from that point at best.

I really don't think we're getting anything particularly special out of AI like The Singularity
It's definitely going to be world/culture changing like the internet has been, but not reality bending like that.

And more expensive and very time consuming as maybe 1 in 50 people can read/voice act with even a modicum of authenticity and fervor. Most people just sound like robots. You know this, you've lived that experience already through school.

AI voice acting doesn't sound like microsoft sam. It's getting close to being nearly indistinguishable from people actually talking, the same as the art and video is getting. I don't know why guys like you keep pretending like AI not only doesn't improve, but in fact has been stagnant the past 5 years and looks/sounds/behaves exactly the same as it did in 2020.

Why does it bother you so much that I, that anon and his friend want to consume media that people actually bothered to put the work in rather than shit they just proompted?

I think I need to use an analogy to try and convey this to you. I am seeing a couple children throwing a hissy fit in the store, stomping their feet and getting mad and pushing things over, and I'm calling it irrational and retarded.

It's not from some kind of anger or even care, I could not give less of a shit what a fool you make of yourselves, but you are making a fool of yourselves nonetheless - and I'm pointing that out. If you were more rational and less delusional you might even take my words as advice, rather than argument.

Yes you are, you keep responding.

Responding to you doesn't mean I'm mad, it means I find the conversation interesting.

Why would I buy your DnD module or AI product when I can create my own AI product for free? Theres no market for AI products because everyone can create their own.

Well then don't buy it. I don't care. Go make your own with an AI and have fun.

You're small language model

Analogy so bad it stumped you and you cannot give it an answer. You know saying "No" is conceding and saying "Yes" is admitting you don't mind eating shit. There you have it. That's why I'm not paying for your AIslop.

Voices is something it will probably be able to do pretty soon

Detecting and reproducing nuance is miles away. Sure, you can probably use AI to voice informercials at this point, but it's not going to deliver an interesting performance.

The problem is that people do not understand how deep and how wide the uncanny valley is.

*also jay bauman is a massive faggot even tho I'm kinda agreeing with him
have to throw that out there

The AI stuff tends to fall under the umbrella of art (regardless of how you define it via human element) and art has the safeguard of transformative elements that already exist. However, if someone is selling AI-generated material that could be SEEN as copyright infringement, then I don't see a lawsuit not happening.

Yeah but the "transformative art"-part is really flimsy defence. Back in the 90's there was a swedish comic book called Arne Anka, a Donald Duck looking swedish duck who was a drunk and had no job. The character was completely different to Disney's IP but because it looked just enough like Donald Duck, Disney threatened to sue the artist. The artist dodged the law by adding strings behind the characters head, so that technically he was wearing a Donald Duck mask instead of looking like one, Disney wasn't happy with that either. So he had to drastically change his art style to quiet the constant threats.

I swear Anon Babble has some code that attaches tourist-frog pictures to the worst posts in the thread, it happens every time and it can't be explained any other way.

Everyone makes their own vidya that they play

No one is playing the same vidya

This is the future AIsloppers dream of

It's getting close to being nearly indistinguishable from people actually talking, the same as the art and video is getting.

No, it isn't. I get it, you see improvement and you go "whoa, now it kind of looks like Will Smith is eating pasta!", but this is like watching Terminator 2 and going "holy shit CGI is the future, new movies are going to look photo realistic!".

Go make your own with an AI and have fun.

So theres no market for AI which you just confirmed. Nobody is going to make money with it. Which means theres no market for AI and if you wish to sell something made by AI, you have to hide the fact you used AI as much as possible.

Detecting and reproducing nuance is miles away.

yep that's gonna be the main problem
AI has improved a lot recently but you can always still just tell unless you're a literal smoothbrain. With voices the shills will cherrypick things a lot that sound great but making a full game of performances is a completely different beast, it falls apart very fast

wow why wont you answer this false equivalency that means i win bro!!

fucking lmao
when did you stop hitting your wife btw

Genuinely funny how people against AI only argue with formulaic arguments like "slop", "soulless", "pajeet"...even a low tier 8b model could come up with more creative criticism.
It's actually funny, low grade AI is actually more intelligent than them, and that's what makes them mad.

"holy shit CGI is the future, new movies are going to look photo realistic!".

This happened though unfortunately

It's not a false equivalency albeit
The argument was that people would play AIslop and somehow not notice it, and then they would find out they were paying for AIslop, and... HOW DARE THEY GET ANGRY AT THAT POINT?
The logic is the same.

miles away

So next year?

yeah the laws that are notorious for being outdated and slow to update for new technologies
we will find the red line eventually but it will take years to work its way through the courts that we'll be halfway through the moratorium and already be on the next subject by then

No, I won't be doing that.

literally btfo so hard that he's coping by saying "i-it doesn't make sense!"

or maybe aisloppa has stunted your ability to think for yourself so much you can't parse a single hypothetical on your own anymore

Not sure which is more embarrassing, but man are both options embarrassing kek

I said kill yourself

You say that but we all know being a weeb you're the one more likely to do that
Why are weebs like the biggest anti-AI crusaders btw?

This. If you use AI the only thing you're is signalling to the white portion of your potential customers that your work isn't worth experiencing.

Its just a result of the times anon, theres no helping it. I genuinely believe that better art is made through adversity and limitation, AI is the complete opposite of that.

Also you may control the prompts, but they lack style and intent. That is something that individual artists develop and come to be recognized for, AI stuff all looks the same no matter what generator is being used because its just aiming for "good", where some styles literally are not good but have an aesthetic appeal. Look at Fear and Hunger for an example of the top of my head, the art in that is not good, run the whole thing through AI and it looks generic as fuck however. The "bad art" has made it look distinct, to the point where you might not even call it bad and simply just recognize it as being the style of Fear and Hunger. AI completely and utterly lacks this, it aims for good as a standard, and when it misses its due to an error, not an attempt at something and failing. Like trying to render a hand and giving them too many fingers, vs, drawing a hand with really spindly fingers that look wierd that is just endemic of the way the artist draws hands.

No, I wo-

*BLAM!*

anti-AI crusade-

*BLAM!*

Why are weebs like the biggest anti-AI crusaders btw?

Cumbrains are the ones experiencing the AIsloppa first hand. Weeb porn websites literally have to add AI filters now to filter through all the shit. So, yeah, they are the ones that can see through the people going "I don't want to publicize that I used AI to make this slop, OK?!?!"

But you aren't making anything interesting.

Ah but you see: I am in fact making something interesting. It's interesting to me, and that's the only person I care about making it interesting for. If other people like something I write or make, all the better, but I'm not making it for them, I'm making it for me, because I want to explore concepts and ideas and write stories.

Again, as I've said like 5 times in this thread now, I do not care if someone is interested in what I make, I'm not upset or crying about people not buying something. I just think you're retarded for summarily writing off anything made by or with AI. I think you're doing a song and dance and performatively hating "AI slop" not because it offends any actual sensibilities, but because it's socially du jour.

Or to put it another way, it sounds more like you're forcing yourself to hate AI, because it's AI, and not because of the actual merits or qualities of any works. And yes, I do agree that a lot of AI produced stuff is total garbage, but not because of actual quality of the AI work, but because of the way it's being used. Who cares about 5000 slightly different variations on "elf girl in a dress"?

But if someone uses AI to create an artistic rendition of a poignant scene from a book or something - well that's a little more interesting, and regardless of the actual quality of the artwork, ends up being something you can appreciate regardless. Or rather, I can appreciate. It sounds like you can't and will never let yourself do so. Which is what I'm driving at.

You see this like I'm mad, but I'm basically trying to tell you that you're just being juvenile and hurting yourself.

This happened though unfortunately

Yeah and it looked like shit: youtu.be/VA0Ch2_2o7I?si=6ULF4wZgaEW3_2Qn

So studios had to go back to hiring stuntmen to do proper motion capping so the 3D models wouldn't look like weightless toy figures. And the best looking movies like Mad Max Fury Road are mostly practical effects with color filters added on top and cameramen digitally removed from shots. Mad Max didn't have to add sand textures and dust particles in post-production because they filmed in a real desert and sand got everywhere naturally.

Thats the irony of the CGI craze of early 2000's. People quickly realized how shit it looks and how incredibly difficult it is to make everything digitally so they went back to mixing practical effects with digital ones like towards the end of the 90's.

Then they should stop using Photoshop, another TOOL for artists. Horses to cars situation, we WILL use AI more and more.

Did we go back to making cars in factories by hand again? No, machines output it so much faster, why bother?

I only like AI wizardry for the porn but can anyone here tell me why so much of the niggers who make this always produce generic looking shit? I expected more unique styles and alot of niche fetishes popping up since you can literally do anything with it (pic related)

yeah the laws that are notorious for being outdated and slow to update for new technologies

Copyright laws? No they're not. The laws don't need any updating, the only thing that needs to happen first is companies like Disney taking notice of some high profile AI-prompter making money out of Princess Porn and the party is over for everyone. Doesn't even need to be the prompter, they can just order the AI to ban all Disney-related prompts completely. Google already bans porn completely.

72903064_p0.jpg - 4292x3040, 922.73K

The least common something is, the less examples of it or anything like it there are in the database the "AI" is scraping, and the more effort is required to produce that slop without just making it yourself.

your only example has been copyright lmao

AI produced media is only ever as good as the prompt used to create it.

This generalized group of people do [specific example of silly thing] which makes what I say look less retarded!

Wow who would've thought.

*matrix dodges the bullet and teleports behind you*
nothin personnel... person distastefully obsessed with the orient............

Why would I care about what a couple of pedophile democrats have to say about anything?
What's next? Caring about AIDSMoby or Max Landis opinion?

It looks awesome the first time but humans crave novelty amd eventually you're right back to where you started looking for artists with fresh takes because the ai is incapable of thought or reflection

here's a magical paintbrush that can create anything you can imagine and it's free

nu-chan and the right-o-sphere: NO! It's bad because it just is, okay? You're an Indian and a Jew for using such a thing.

So you're a creator? You feel it cheapens artistic creation?

I can barely manage a stick figure. I couldn't write a paragraph that would hold even a child's interest

I think the hatred comes from these idiots' total lack of capacity to put it to use. They're angry they have a tool that is only limited by their imagination since they don't have one of those in the first place.

PI1.jpg - 1024x1024, 112.76K

Thats the only example that matters because that by alone severely limits what AI images can do. Copyright law alone can ban 99% of the material AI was trained to use. AI companies asking money for their AI while training their AI with stuff grabbed without permission are all playing with fire.

There's definitely a lack of life experience, (and frankly, a lack of empathy) but with creative works largely being created by huge sprawling teams of people, I think that more than anything else is what's sucking all the creativity out. You need someone in charge to make the creative decisions, it cannot be done by democracy, and yet bureaucratic democracy is exactly how all these companies are creating things.

They want clock in and clock out artists who own nothing while the C-suite gives 30 opposing directions to take everything and any time you make something kind of cool you're told to get rid of it or worse, mutilate it beyond recognition, and you just cannot create actual art in an environment like that.

In this respect 1 guy with an AI painting shit for him has a better chance of making something evocative and touching than a fortune 500 media conglomerate with 1000 people working on a creative project together.

the corporate democratic pass-the-buck bureaucracy by its very nature destroys creativity and art

RRAAAAARRRRGHHH

Copyright laws? No they're not. The laws don't need any updating,

the copyright office has already been flip flopping on whether AI art can be copyrighted, like I said before, whether training on existing art is infringing is also under question
fair use is still under question
obviously any sane company will block AI generating content similar to existing copyrighted art
and that's only regarding copyright, now imagine all of the other industries and sections of law

Anon, we are talking about different things here.
I don't mind using AI to create memes or to make your own shit, or to draw porn to jack off too, or using it as portraits in your paper RPG sessions

I just refuse to pay for AI products.

since you can literally do anything with it (pic related)

You generally can't, is the problem
Even recent local models have extreme trouble when dealing with groups of people or objects, and require a lot more attention to detail with inpainting to produce good results.
It's the same problem as with regular art. You technically CAN do anything with it, but even AI generated images require SOME proper work to produce a good result. Most people and most models will not be able to do anything, or at least not for the amount of effort that most shitters are willing to provide.

I think the hatred comes from these idiots' total lack of capacity to put it to use. They're angry they have a tool that is only limited by their imagination since they don't have one of those in the first place.

I will now choose to believe this describes everyone vocally schizophrenic about AI tools, thanks for your input anon it has trained my model

they can't figure out which way to flip flop because their decision hinges on whoever has the most money, rather than what works for the best interests of the public at large, and there's a huge amount of money on all sides now so the choice isn't clear cut for them

I mean, yeah, but there are people who use these things who could at least try and form a new style out of the millions of fucking images in the dataset of an AI image generation model but they dont and just full up every booru with generic stuff. I swear the majority of "people" prompting and uploading these are bots themselves

Modern art is failing because normies think learning fundamentals and drawing sameface anime girls is art
Real art that hooks you in and doesn't let go requires the artist to be utterly deranged and severely mentally ill, see Made in Abyss

Real art that hooks you in and doesn't let go requires the artist to be utterly deranged and severely mentally ill

no wonder i liked lunacid so much

People have arrived that genuinely just post AI trash.

Well, bye.

Reminder that mods literally get paid to allow these threads here, they removed the ip counter to facilitate shilling as well.

Because the AI is trained on already drawn or photographed images. Theres like 10 trillion images of womens faces and boobs from 3/4 closeup angle with studio lighting on the internet. Theres only 100 or so images of whatever weird grape-crushing high heel foot fetish you want to see. Thats why AI fucks up hands so often, because hands are often not as well lit and on the sides of the posing woman in different positions. So AI has a problem understanding and merging them together.

See: No one is trying to take away your funny memes made with AI or your folders of AI porn of your favorite anime girl from you. Anti AIslop chads just don't want to pay for AIslop in the vidya industry.

I mean its as simple as entering a prompt right? What's stopping you?

It's interesting to me

This is because you are a hylic. You cannot see past the window dressing, because for you, that's all there is going on. You aren't a creative type, not really. You think it might bring you some more material wealth, you think the vomit you're drinking has something going on.

Again, I wish AI could make anything good. I think it'd be pretty neat to have something generated on the fly that was at a base minimum of quality, but it turns out that soul is very difficult to emulate. You don't have a soul, so you can't understand what's missing from the shit you're wasting your time on.

[citation needed]
scraping has been around for a lot longer than AI anon, you might be violating website's terms of use, but that's not necessarily illegal especially if it's already a click-through agreement

I hate AI "artists" - The way these people talk is the same way that a few years ago Bitcoin Bros were talking about NFTs - when they "make" something, like they type a prompt, and they release it and say "Look at this thing I made!" It's like going to the carwash and saying "Look, I washed my car!" No you didn't. You put in some coins and the machine washed your car. You had no involvement in the decisions made or the technology used to do this. You did the least amount of work possible.

don't want to pay for AIslop

The code in the latest AAA product you're playing was made with the assistance of AI tools

blow it out your ass lmao

and inarguably higher quality than if we let the jeets write it themselves
