Ledges on this game are pretty annoying, mount jump is pitiful and have to dismount a lot to climb. I also got softlocked in faraway island once jumping around, got stuck between a ledge and some bushes, wasn't even going out of bounds or anything.

I like armor being universal, but tailoring could've at least gotten its own set of equipment modifiers. Tailoring still has several uses though, between it getting the bulk of cosmetics and all of the furniture options it gets.

Game's very fun but the lack of challenge in combat is killing my will to keep playing. Most enemies do 1 point of damage. Will things get more interesting later? I'm lvl 60 and most lvl 60 enemies are just pushovers, including the boss of the big castle at the center of ginormosia and the lvl 60 dragon.

Tailoring should have got magic skills and blacksmithing should have gotten physical skills. It's absolutely fucking retarded that the only set in the game allowed to have any offensive skills at all is the hero set

Greatswords and swords were designed for CASUAL sloppers to make the game so trivially easy that even a the most braindead zoommer NPC casual could beat it.
The TRU3 G/MRZ are meant to use sticks instead, like some kind of big strong barbarian with a club, which increases the games difficulty to enjoyable levels and not braindead.

You create a "mode shift" i.e. when holding LT the buttons do different things.

In groves sometimes there's a strangeling symbol on the route. You go to those and it will give you a random souped up version of a strangeling that matches the character.
You then use that plus some celestia's at the statue to power them up.

not much, you can fuck off from the story fairly early on
a few things are unlocked through the story though, most notably treasure groves (rng dungeons you can play in multiplayer)

technically there's new mechanics all the way in post game, but the final Life unlocks about 2/3 of the way in.

You can eventually fill them all out, but you should be smart about what you pick along the way. And beware that battle/gathering jobs will need certain nodes unlocked to clear their rank up missions (special attacks)

You can do them solo even with classes you havent learned if you were properly leveling gatherers and switch em in/out per map (you can do this on the route selection screen)
Theres no online requirement or mulitplayer exclusive shit, its just much easier/less tedious.
And you can still play online anyway as a pirate if you install the online-fix.me patch.
Requires some setup as you need a steam account to be active to start it but you can play online just fine with other pirates.
I'm usually seeing some lv100 groves active, and sporatic lv 25-60 groves that fill up quickly.

I don't think that's true, Ginormosia is available very early and I don't believe materials there are gated by story progression.

There are 3 materials gated by the story.
And honestly I wouldn't grind before clearing them because 2 are endgame materials.
First is Mimics dropping Treasure Trove Saplings. Theres a small window where if you decide to explore Ginormosia the moment you unlock it, MIMICS CANNOT DROP TREASURE TROVE SAPLINGS. To amend this literally play like 10 more minutes of story lol, I fucked up and explored for hours within that tiny window. I still regret it.

Then there are 2 materials that WILL NOT drop unless you complete the entire game/ all 7 chapters.You can still fight the mobs that drop the items earlier, in fact I saw them in a lv 35 treasure trove grove before. But again, you will receive 0 of those specific Materials shadow flames & slabs no matter how many you kill unless you finish the game.

It only took me 2.5 harvests to collect all the requirements for master

Sker’ri shrine in Ginormosia. Great Magic Ore node on stage 2. Can just endlessly reset stage 2 to mine it.

Use the purple door and go to Ginomorsia and level up some areas, then after 5 minutes use the purple door again to go back right where you left and fight the boss again.
Also be sure to craft the golden wool one by one to get 4 of them each time you get a perfect craft instead of 2.5 if you perfect craft them in bulk.

It's not that bad. After you kill those two, just warp to Ginormosia to do shit then Teleport via the purple door on the menu screen to go back to Lulab Forest.

There's a dark fire sealed room in Warren Willow Hollow B1 that spawns a Luminous Darkwood Tree and Luminous Magic Ore and you can easily reset them using the Ginomorsia door fast travel.

Main QoL feature I really want to see right now is a way to switch cameras to a first person perspective temporarily. Trying to find shrines and eye towers on ginormosia feels more like a matter of luck than anything else because the camera's slightly tilted to face down slightly so even if you try to climb on top of a mountain or hill to scout out the area it'll only do you so much good to get a rough estimation where a shrine/eye tower might be located as well as any nearby landmarks.

Sleep arrows are a fucking life saver against those gay ass rolling beetles. Also using the heavy attack to backflip away from enemies and hit them with a shotgun blast of arrows is stupidly fun. Stamina drain kind of sucks but I'm guessing that's to balance out being able to hit entire groups of enemies with status effects that completely incapacitate them.

DQB2 just seemed kind of shit to me. It felt like it just kind of failed in every aspect. It just didn't feel like there was any real grand sense of adventure since the emphasis was mostly on building. At the same time it felt like it kind of failed as a building game because it constantly railroaded you through the story and hijacked your attempts to just take a moment to just have fun and build shit, like that part where you're suddenly captured and hauled off to the prison island and forced to do some really obnoxious and menial bullshit followed by a mandatory stealth segment. I just completed one of the fucking islands, let me take a moment to enjoy the new area and try making shit with my new pieces. Not to mention the parts where characters just stepped in and either started demanding I build x along y area or they just automatically started building shit I didn't want where I didn't want them to build that shit, like how after you unlock the desert area on the builder's island they suddenly decide to build a fucking eyesore of a massive pyramid that takes up a good portion of the area. On top of that it felt like it was pretty lacking in post game content. Once you've been thoroughly railroaded through the game and you're free to build without constant interruptions it just doesn't feel like there's any real incentive to do so anymore other than to build the sake of building and posting screenshots.
High fiving Malroth was cool though.
Fantasy Life feels like it's basically what DQB2 should have been in that it scratches the itch for both adventure and building shit and even after you've beat the main quest (which you can actually do at your own pace) there's still tons of shit to do

it will visibly change your partners' stats but for some reason it does NOT show your own increase
remember that you get the fattest increase of all as the primary stat donor from that % bonus, so always give yourself the appropriate tool over them when applicable

Ending mid-run isn't really a problem but it's annoying because you have to go back to base, then go back to the multiplayer counter, then kick the guy who is leeching, then reenter.

At least with treasure groves you continue from the room you were at and it's not nearly as obtuse, not to mention it seems less likely for people to leech in there outside of the occasional dumbass leveling their crafters

We had 15minutes left after finishing 2 and at 0/150 we barely spawned a legendary spirit rock at lv70 with 5minutes left.
Everyone by that point was ~30-50mining with 2 people barely at a "hold the regen back" lv.
We managed to kill it with 30seconds remaining.

Biggest issue I've got is getting combat life rankings up. Feels like having the player kill specific enemies was kind of a mistake that turns starting a new combat life into a bit of a slog. It feels like it would have gone with type requirements instead so they can still advance through the game while playing that new class instead of having to go back to previous areas and grind on some specific monsters to get that combat class caught up with their other combat classes
