Nightreign final boss footage + ending

looks fun

leaked footage of soul of cinder pre alpha

think of the lore implications.....................

I'm trying to think and so far I have nothing.

this boss is everything thats wrong with Fromslop

Looks awfull

it was all a dream

Epic, simply epic.

There are none since Nightreign isn't in the same universe as normal Elden Ring. It's just mysterious bullshit. Unironically the Zanzibart meme.

So they chickened out on making Ranni a boss for a second time, huh?

There's nothing. Where in the original game have you heard of a giant dark tree man?

Pontiff Sulyvahn + soul of Cinder retard child

10/10 by slop eaters

Just think of it as a funny spin off for streamers.

This may as well be Tarnished ages after Ranni's ending

More of the same but worse.
What happened , FROM?

No Vaati, I won't do your work anymore.

knight can facetank the boss

the other two classes waste half the fight dying

Yep, its fromslop

Im debating between this, FF7 rebirth, and clair obscur. Im a big fromfaggot and have thousands in them but id also like to play some of the other new games too.

Wrong, it is the same universe, it's a prequel

It's literally just Zanzibar

it's a prequel

QRD?

looks like a cheap fan-mod

those are clearly Pontiff Sullivan moves

Fromsoft wouldn't stoop down so low

HOLY LICHTSPIELTHEATER

Fromcucks on suicidewatch

let's wait until we get actual footage

postorder cancelled

definitely unfinished alpha footage

heolstor... forgive me

Sucks you can't do this solo, the boss is clearly breaking by unnaturally floating and spinning around a single player. But even so it looks like a very boring fight. Also that pretty much looks like Artorias. They should have just done Artorias but bring his attacks up to Elden Ring level. I don't think a single person would have complained.

Maybe it's Godwyn!

reskinned Gael

SLOPPPAAA

wait its actually Zanzibar for real this time ?

Nigger, it's Zanzibart

Looks much easier than Radahn. Why does everyone say you can't solo in this game?

kill final boss phase 4

gael shows up

phase 5 begins

he does a triple backflip and AOE spamming eye cancer particles that literally blinds you

your eyes are forever blind

but you still hear his voice:

"give it to me...."

"...your elden ring"

kino...

A shame we don't get the denial cope this time around

Elden Cope.jpg - 1816x4008, 1.06M

Radahn that has blood flame and holy magic and gravity magic and uses all three and his swords are off model and his animations are all broken and glitched

The leaked footage was so unfinished and janky. I refuse to feel shame for calling it a hoax. Especially when Radahn is such a fucking retarded choice that we all hate anyways for a variety of reasons. We aimply deserved better.

who the fuck is hoholstore

all those FPS drops

lol

I dont know who the fuck heolstor is but the nightlord is basically the ruler of the underground nox cities in elden ring. You can read many descriptions mentioning that the nox are awaiting for the return of the lord of night. You essentially become a nightlord if you do ranni's ending.

You're right in that the leak footage was blatantly unfinished but Radahn was fine to serve as a vector for a Miquella fight. It literally could have been anyone

obviously just the mentioned lord of night in elden ring. in this universe, it was the lord of the lands (it has the elden ring within it)

marika's order vanished with the shattering, and the nox's lord rose.

Marika should have been the final boss god damn it. I am so fucking sick of miyazaki's subversion dlc bosses instead of just giving what the fans want. Still pissed off that we didnt get to fight the serpents in das3

The fuck are you talking about, we already killed Marika

Just bring her back. After all they fucking brought back radahn despite his entire deal is that we gave him a good death.

They brought back Radahn to serve as locamotive for the Miquella train; bringing back Marika wpuld just be a second Radagon fight.

marika is dead, anon. the elden beast got her with the destined death spear.

Doesnt have to be. After all, the radahn fight is barely similar to the base game radahn fight. Why bother spending most of the dlc building up marika's back story when you dont even meet her, like say a memory of her? Hell only the companions are related to miquella in the dlc. The rest of the dlc is about the consequences of marika's ascension to godhood.

I was one of the people who genuinely thought this was fake, but when I realized it was real I also realized that From just wasn't a company for me any longer.

Modern Fromdrones have no standards. Just shit slurpers on par with Marvel fans now. As long as they get their ebin lightshows with rollspam they don't care about anything else.

The worldbuilding about the hornsent and Marika contextualizes her sending her firstborn sun there with an army to burn their world down and camp on the ashes. It also explains why Miquella thought it was important to spiritually purify himself before taking on such power

All you can do is spew buzzwords, because you can't admit that you're actually just upset the boss was too hard for your lazy, inept ass.

I didn't even complete the DLC, because it was incredibly mediocre and knowing that all it was building up to that wet fart just killed any desire to finish.

im so fucking over souls shit man

empty landscape arena

first phase is le weakened

second phase is le forgive me master for i must go all out just this once

spammy lightshow moves that go all around the arena

le nightlord

series is just stangnant dogshit that cod kiddies play becasue of le challenge

mfw.gif - 360x270, 1.26M

I didn't even complete the DLC, because I'm bad at videogames and a lazy retard DaS1fag

Yeah I know

I bet Rellana in three tries without summons. I felt nothing when winning. I don't need to play more slop just to feel validated, but good for you if you do, I guess.

I just want the creativity that gave us bosses like Maiden Astraea back.

i gave up on the first boss

LOL
LMAO

b-because it just hecking is OKAY!?!?!??!?

Maiden Astraea was just an npc boss fight with a sad backdrop, they're still doing those

I beat SOTE's margit without summons!

Okay? lol

I don't need to play more slop just to feel validated,

It's not about validation, it's about fun. Also,

slop

Zoomer nigger lingo

I know nothing about this game because I just can't be bothered with Elden Ring after beating it, but I believe the ending shows the first burning of the Erdtree. What that means and who/what the final boss is though, I have no idea.

we still have bosses with sob stories or with gimmicks the difference is that now they're actual fights.

However I do think Fromsoft has been putting way too much focus on bossfights and less focus on normal enemies and the experience of moving throgh the levels, to me, the experience of making my way through undead burh or Lothric's highwall is just as a valuable if not more than beating a bossfight with le epic or sad music in the background, Elden Ring ahd way too many bosses and way too many of them recycled, even the best level of Elden Ring like Stormveil have some kind of issue like how you can just skip all of Stormveil and yolo it to get to Godrick, there's 0 reason to ever explore half of Raya Lucaria, all the Leyndell enemies are recycled and boring,Volcano Manor doesn't feel as fleshed out as the potential that it had, Castle redman is basically nothing, the Haligtree is good looking but that place has 0 coherence on how it's built because it makes absolutely 0 sense (how the fuck would Loretta or any albinauric ever get her horse to her bossroom when the haligtree requires to parkour for a whole ass level?) and then we have the too many graces issue, Midra's manse is short as fuck and it has 2 shortcuts, both of those shortcuts are useless because that place has two extra sites of grace when IT DOESN'T NEED THEM.

FROMSOFT PLEASE THE LEVELS ARE THE CAKE AND BOSSES ARE THE ICING PLEASE REMEMEBR THIS. ELDEN RING WAS SPREAD TOO THIN, QUALITY OVER QUANTITY.

engding

Huh? I thought it was purely session mp game.

KINO

slash at his ass while the tank holds aggro

Uhhh, soulsisters? This is peak action?

Looks cool, can't wait for it to be added into Elden Ring as a mod, not buying this shit though

I'm glad more footage of this shit released and their press events. If it wasn't for that I would have let my preorder go through. Refunded this shit after seeing how much its lacking in content, no point in fighting mobs, bosses being too easy. It'll get boring within 5 hours.

Undead burg is a 2 minute movement tutorial

desu I added Undead Burge for pandering but you can't tell me that DS1 places more focus on bosses than levels.

Nonono you don't understand he has the fromsloparino sword so it's ludohyperultrakinomaxxbased

i am so fucking sick of fromass boss music.
fucking eurodance has more variety.

34534.png - 300x300, 41.8K

Maiden Astraea was a deliberate anticlimax. Fromsoft hasn't done one of those since DS1.

I fought Bayle too, and his animations were so fucking goofy because SotE isn't allowed to have slow bosses, so even the fat crippled lizard has to bolt around like a jet. They've completely raped any sense of realism out of their boss animations just to make everything "hard". Shadow of the Erdtree is bad and not worth completion.

Its wild EVERY nightlord has this empty ass arena

Agree. Diving into unexplored area and wondering if it's better to continue in search of a bonfire or go back felt amazing.

but you can't tell me that DS1 places more focus on bosses than levels.

Of course not, but ER levels are ALSO better than DaS1 levels despite not being star of the show

I want realism when fighting a hell dragon on top of a lightning mountain in the underworld!

lmao. What you want is an easier videogame, tranny

Mountaintops of the Giants is worse than Lost Izalith.

You are a brainraped retard, unable to comprehend any artistic quality outside of "easy" or "hard".

You have not gone through lost izalith without the back door shortcut

Artistically, Bayle is absolutely fucking incredible, easily in the top 5 encounters in any From game.

I've gone through Lost Izalith in full killing and collecting everything multiple times. I can't bring myself to complete Mountaintops of the Giants to that degree even once.

You and I are looking for very different things from these games. Nightreign looks to have more of what you love.

Mountaintop has lost potential for sure, but this is just bait

anticlimaxes are like 90% of how questlines end lol

Fromsoft has never made a worse area in any game than the abomination that is the mess of giant crows, giant dogs, and giant hands all slapped together in that clusterfuck.

HOLY FUCKING KINO

The difference is that Demons' Souls and Dark Souls had mechanical anticlimaxes. The last boss of Demons' Souls is a deliberate anticlimax to the whole game.

Sloppified From would never permit anything other than a flashbang rollspam fest to conclude anything.

chadreign completely moggs SOTE

Imma be honest I can't talk for DS1because I haven't played it but comparing my experience in Elden Ring against Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 I think Elden Ring's legacy areas either having too many graces or half of the legacy zone not being relevant since you can just beeline to the boss as well as sometimes being too short or recycling enemies too much or shortcuts just not having a purpose even if they are impressive becaue of the stakes of Marika... It just doesn't feel as right, the experience is less satisfying in my eyes.

Now, I am comparing WHOLE games to just the legacy zones in Elden Ring, Elden Ring is way more than just the legacy zones with remembranc ebosses, and Elden Ring areas are still pretty fun and interesting specially if you're a completionist and want to find all the items, but I stand by my opinion that the Elden Ring legacy zones could be made better, even in the DLC, and I wouldn't mind sacrificing as many caves and catacombs or whatever as it takes for that.

However I do think Fromsoft has been putting way too much focus on bossfights and less focus on normal enemies and the experience of moving throgh the levels

Based on fucking what?

there is very little difference between an npc questline being sad and anticlimactic and having to slash at the low hp npc. I'll take the fights having, y'know, play in them

Even without this, Bloodborne and DS3 had fast travel but the legacy areas in Elden Ring don't feel as good as a full fledged level in those games IMO.

like hell Orphan of Kos had more impact on me than blob Allant

It feels pointless to play games that dont have a strong story focus. Stuff from recent years like Expedition 33, FF7 Remake and Rebirth, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Hogwarts Legacy, Baldur's Gate 3, Alan Wake 2, Plague Tale Requiem, Ghost of Tsushima and so on. Playing games with no real story like this online roguelike crap just feels like a pointless waste of time
t.boomer

Yes, it does. For you, I reccomend the next dogshit bethesda game

did they do an ending with the giant doll from sekiro and chickened out on the very last second and changed the model?

On my experience of playing Elden Ring and feeling that I wish they put more focus on levels like Nokron than on putting a bunch of caves all over that no one cares about and making me fight Godrick for a second time on a random ass Evergaol when I didn't have this feeling at all in older games.

GAS GAS GASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

At first glance it has a fantastic moveset and tight hitboxes.
You can dead angle a lot of attacks to escape a bunch of swipes that go hogh, that'can't be coincidentally because it's consistently the opposite of where it leans with the body in order to adapt to terrain elevation, something Gael did.
The moveset flows well and seems fairly doable solo, with well telegraphed AoE attacks to pressure groups while being fair on 1vs1

messmer.jpg - 1413x2500, 897.31K

Not the OP you're replying to but if you think slob Allant is absolute kino and Orphan of Kos was cringe for trying too hard then I think sometimes two people can never agree cause I can't bring myself to understand how you'd feel this.

Not that blob Allant is wrong, having the revelation at the end of the game is fine whatever but the experience after I enter the boss door of "oh I guess king Allant had depression and made it our problem" as compared to "holy shit this baby old men aldritch thing is fucking me up" and then feeling a strange melancholia after it's death I'd rather take Orphan.

Let Miyazaki-sama COOK!! These haters probably just have a skill issue and don’t want them to experiment with new games… I for one have ALWAYS wanted a rougelite asset flip with battle royale influence. I have always wanted them to blatantly recycle bosses from games that are 10+ years old and I have always wanted them to keep the exact same netcode that they’ve had since 2009 even though this is a multiplayer centric release. Let them COOK!! This is PEAK FICTION from Miyazaki-sama the GOAT! As a Souls veteran since Dark Souls 3, I speak for everyone when I say: LET. THEM. COOK

Souls combat expert here

lmao

Norkorn is a large secret area with great level design that involves platforming and exploration.

Miyazaki didn't have a hand on this though. I know you're baiting but... well... okay maybe it's part of your bait actually, still I'll say this anyway.

You are a massive faggot

and the fact that the damage was already done by the humans that killed Kos and you're just kinda putting it down. nothing was really accomplished, the nightmare remains, but at least the child rests.

It comes out in like a couple hours why would you spoil yourself?

spoil more, post the rest

The enemies in Nokron are boring as fuck and the Eternal cities are fine if you count all of them together but Nokron by itself feels small and disjointed and not very impressive, I would have rather had one single eternal city the quality of Leyndell than 3 "eh it's fine areas".

I'm not saying Elden Ring areas are fine, again, they are good, but to me it didn't feel like they were nearly as good as compared to Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3, the other game of Fromsoft that I have played is Sekiro but it's harder to compare Sekiro in this instance because it's so different.

No one here is unironically buying a trend chasing cash grab as blatant as this, are they?

No best girl no buy simple as

It's in the same universe and is actually canon to Elden Ring. It's the equivalent of Artorias of the Abyss time travel, it technically happens in the Shattering but is tied to the end of the Sun Realm and the first Erdtree

FF7 Remake and Rebirth

Baldur's Gate 3

Alan Wake 2

Dogshit writing

Something about Bloodborne thatkind of bothers me is that... okay, so the fish people in the hamlet all turned because of the desecration of Kos right? (idk if thats true but thats what I thought after playing the game and the DLC) And the people in Yharnam are all turning into werewolves because of the old blood they use to heal right? But what about the hunters? We the players are all using that blood to heal all the time and we don't transform, we meet other hunters that also useit and they don't turn either. At the beggining of the game the messengers of the dream save us from the curse so after the first blood transfusion we were already fucked and it's the hunter's dream that protects us but what about literally every other person?

Are the few remaining humans just lucky? To avoid becoming a fishman or a vampire you just gotta hope the curse catches you later?

You are a lobotomy patient.

That's because you niggers hated dark souls 2, you reap what you sow.

I like both, but the issue is that every final boss is effectively just Orphan at this point.

The funny thing is with the ER DLC, there was a perfect opportunity to recreate Blob Allant with Miquella, where you fight Miquella, and it's an easy fight, but if you lose you get a unique ending. That mentally out "every final boss needs to be heckin' epic" is why the modern games are so exhausting and repetitive, especially ER's final boss rush (both base game and the DLC.)

So, Zanzibart since anything and whatever the fuck can happen at any time also stuff from other games like it's smash?

Volcano Manor doesn't feel as fleshed out as the potential that it had

It still kills me that you teleport to Rykard even if you go through the dungeon properly. It's such a lazy way to end the dungeon.

I don't think hunters are entirely immune cause the hunters nightmare is where the hunters with too many centipedes in their vaginas end up after going mad with bloodlust. something about the moon presence supporting the hunters is likely what causes them to refrain from full on beasting out from the blood centipedes, I'd wager, may be a better explanation but it's been a while.

Miquella is the most blatant wasted opportunity I've ever seen in a From game. They could have made him a pacifist boss who refuses to fight you, they could have made him easy, they could have made his charm powers actually affect the fight in interesting ways, like instacharming any spirit summons you use, there was so much potential to get creative with his fight based on his lore, and they went the most braindead "big sword guy spamming combos and AoE attacks" approach imaginable.

Whoever was involved in those earlier games and keeping the bosses fresh is long gone, and we can see the results.

"It's such a lazy way to X" applies to almost every good idea they had but just threw in the towel and didn't develop properly.

The burning of the first Erdtree is already in base Elden Ring. I was the first to even notice it too

The bossrush of 3 motherfuckers in a row paired with the mountaintops being ass earlier on did feel pretty bad I agree. And I'm fine with Radahn being a challenging fight but the way it released was unacceptable and nowadays still doesn't sit right with me, I don't like Radahn being a mute zombie that just dies

I think it happened between DS2 and 3.
DS1 gets handed over a new director, new director doesn't have the same feel, translating to less sales.
A good chunk of the team gets fired before getting handed back to DS1 director, but the team olis now mangled of their creative people.

you described it pretty well. i wish they did actually interesting arenas instead of flat circular plane 23892932

Same, fromslop is like instrumental music to me.

I have a question for FROM fans.
How do you feel about getting to a boss and it's someone you didn't even know it existed before?
Shouldn't big encounters like that have some sort of narrative buildup?
The only two good examples are Seth and Gwin being constantly nominated and hinted at before their fight.

I'm sorry but what is fresh about redoing pitiful bossfights like they did in DeS and DaS already lmao, the only thing I agree on is more charm interactions.

oh my fucking god I forgot about that, also the assasination questline just teleports you to him too??? And if you don't do it you don't even get to obtain like 5 fucking armor sets, 5 ARMOR SETS ON THAT STUPID QUESTLINE THAT RQUIRES YOU TO KILL OTHER TARNISHED, GETTING THE ARMOR FROM THE TRAILERS REQUIRES THAT FUCKIGN QUESTLINE WHERE YOU KILL INNOCENTS FOR NO REASON.

Elden Ring to mee feels like a bunch of amazing ideas but 90% didn't get finished properly, some of them were almost there though, but still, fromsoft at it again.

God I hate the cheap as fuck teleporting in Elden Ring, in older games any time you teleported at least you had visual effects too, magic or fog that covers your character or covers the screen to make it seem magical, in Elden Ring the waygates are plopped down in random places, they look like they don't fit 90% of the time, and the teleportations are just fade to black, you interact with Miquella's hand it's just fade to black, you fast travel and it's just fade to black, you use a waygate and even thugh the game has a magical glintstone particle teleportation effect the game still just fades to black and spawns you somewhere else with no effect at all, it's just feels wrong to me, I don't know why more people aren't complaining.

In the Elden Ring DLC even though everyone with a working braincell will know that Belurat connects to Enir Ilim the game still decides to teleport you there after you burn the bounding tree, this was completely unnecesary and they still did it, teleportatting everywhere so often really cheapens the feeling of making your way through the worlod and learning where everything is so this sucks.

I thought part of the premise was that all hunters eventually become beasts, hence one of the first boss fights with the hunter that’s like “may as well kill you now, you’ll be a beast eventually”

reupload? video is down

i completely forgot fartpence turns mid fight too

Elden Ring is the worst offender of this and I can think of many ways this could be fixed but Fromsoftware has too much of a boner for avoiding having any story that isn't on item descriptions.

Remember when Elden Ring starts with Melina as a companion that will help you through your Journey but oops actually no she doesn't she just fucks off and never appears ever unless you talk to her in like two super specific spots.

This ols screenshot from before release shows Melina resting with the tarnished in a place where she never appears in the actual release of the game, I remember thinking that Melina would tell stories of the lands between and the demigods and their reputations to gives us more build up to them, more information, maybe get to the foot of Mt Gelmir and have her speak of the rumours of Rykard's blasphemy and rituals but nah she's a non character

meliwho.jpg - 2160x1080, 280.05K

I think it's removed

I'm sorry but what is fresh about redoing pitiful bossfights

NTA, there's literally only about 1-2 boss fights in the series which match that qualifier. How is not doing another 'pitiful' boss fight not fresh in the slightest?

but the issue is that every final boss is effectively just Orphan at this point.

And so what, you massive faggot?

The funny thing is with the ER DLC, there was a perfect opportunity to recreate Blob Allant with Miquella, where you fight Miquella

The funny thing is, it is the perfect chance for you to fuck off.

and it's an easy fight, but if you lose

lorelet pedo is still seething 10 months later

That mentally out "every final boss needs to be heckin' epic" is why the modern games are so exhausting and repetitive, especially ER's final boss rush (both base game and the DLC.)

Because you don't like Souls games, and Souls games are, undeniably, action RPG combat heavy game with major focus on build variety, combat and exploration/looting. You don't like combat, you find it exhausting, because the combat is very specifically about reading animations and managing committment alongside deliberately using the player tools. You tards should take the hint and stop polluting Souls threads

It pisses me doubly considering they had other weird form of movement like those caskets you use to drop off of, or up to, waterfalls.

Shadow Of the Turd Tree was my last Fromsoft anything.
Not even Bloodborne 2 can get me to give them my money.

No talent left at all.

removed fuckkkk

something that's been done before is by definition not fresh, you could argue that it'd be interesting to see again but it's still reusing an old idea like the other guy was bitching about with having another big sword guy fight.

is there any more boss than dark souls ones ? like, any references to AC or other from soft licences ?

They don't do that anymore because people get angry if there is not enough space, if there is something in the way, or if there are traps or falls that kill you. A flat circle is easiest to manage and keeps the focus on the boss.

the game still decides to teleport you there after you burn the bounding tree, this was completely unnecesary

Belurat is, like Enir-Ilim, completely outside the Casuality. It's always shining from the Light of the Sun and you access the location through Fire. You would know if you weren't a lorelet retard

Belurat is

*Farum Azula

And so what

That the bosses are extremely repetitive and overdone in their particular form of design.
The rest of your post is trying too hard.

Because you don't like Souls games.

I've been playing since DeS, there's been a pretty common outlook (or criticism) that the games have lost certain unique characteristics, like the focus on good level design, and new titles prioritizing the boss fights more and more.
Anyone who is an actual veteran and not poser rabble trash like you still remembers how people gushed about DaS1's level design when it first released.

huhhh if it's canon how do they explain all the dark souls boss ?

repost? webm? anything?

I was interested until they revealed it was multiplayer only, PvPvE extraction shitter
It is guaranteed to be bad

before is by definition not fresh

By your definition, and your extremely limited definition at that.

The less something is done, the more fresh it is, you know like a spectrum (something you're probably on given that very retarded outlook you have.)

multiplayer only

wrong

PvPvE

wrong

extraction shitter

wrong

no by the dictionaries definition, you're trying to present your love of the pitiful boss meme as something more novel than it is. it's ok if you liked it, it's just not very fresh. in fact other games have milked it too at this point, Furi had a boss you completely overpowered and felt bad about, I'm sure I could come up with more.

The lore perfectly fits with the base game and confirms a bunch if quite blatant things
Nokron is dense and has lots of platforming and exploration besides worldbuilding. It also has an even more secret area accessed through the coffin ship. Your complaints make no sense you want superbosses or levels?

Best guess based on the lore we have so far is that Heolstor/the Night/"The Primordial Nightlord" is actually an Outer God opposed to the Greater Will. Assuming it is connected to the Lord of Night the Nox wanted to invoke (which it might be - the opening cinematic shows that a massive fissure is torn into the ground from which Heolstor seemingly emerges at the same time the Shattering happens) then Nightreign is what happens when it actually manages to manifest in the wake of the Shattering.

i know. if a boss is fast and aggressive it's probably better to put a flat arena. but honestly capra demon fight made a really big impression on me and he wasn't even the real boss it was the dogs and the small arena

all your sisters on Anon Babble are going to be playing without you tonight

Why are you... what? what's your point?

We could have more complex and intersting arenas imo but adding doodads that just get you stuck sucks. They also need to fix their fire breath attacks because that shit is broken, the fire can bounce off the floor geometry and do a 180.
Also I don't wanna see a boss fight on slope if they can't fix their godawful vertical hitboxes, trackign and "fall system" where bosses will randomly fall off the slop because their movements go in a straight line unnaffected by gravity/ground shape. The blackblade gargoyles are ane xampel of this, they keep running around, stepping in the air then just falling 2 feet.

Opening cinematic explain it - the Shattering "shattered order itself" and allowed the invasion of the Night, which is causing multiple eras (where the Nightfarers hail from) and more to collapse into each other.

Nokron ain't that cool chief, aesthetically it's pretty good though, but IMO Volcano Manor rinses it for instance.

something more novel than it is

So you're admitting it's novel and fresh?

Christ the quality of discussion on this board has declined so much, that or the DaS1 PC port brought in so much fucking stupid rabble.

Enir-Ilim is in time stasis. You don't physically travel there, you teleport your sprite there like you do in any Dragon themed area in any Miyazaki game.

Fire is the metaphysical force of change that travels through time, while Light twists time. Miquella restored the Seat of the Sun.

so dark souls are confirmed to be set in the very distant past of Elden Ring or it's from alternate realities ?
are they only from dark souls or is there other stuff from other from soft games ? (kings field, armored core, Sekiro... Obviously not Bloodborne or Demon Souls though since From Soft do not own them)

did anyone have a mirror?
the video was taken down

indeed

did (they) get him?
rip

Nigga you can literally teleport to Belurat and run up to Enir Ilim physically there's a lift that takes you up there.

Nokron ain't that cool chief

It's not the best area in game. It's still a great area because all major zones in Elden Ring a great and there's really no low. It's meant as a lighter exploration/worldbuilding section mid game, which is funny because people complain that the later sections are too oppressive. It also has dual Gargoyles, quite an hard boss fight if you don't know how to position to their attacks, so it's well balanced. Claiming Dark Souls 3 or Bloodborne have better areas is stupid, both have quite some lows conpared to Elden Ring and neither of thek has such highs

Yes, after you burned the tree

so dark souls are confirmed to be set in the very distant past of Elden Ring or it's from alternate realities ?

Closer to the latter. They're basically treated as distinct timelines from what I can gather.

are they only from dark souls or is there other stuff from other from soft games ?

Seems mostly DS so far.

Im a from fan and i will answer you by explaining every single souls final boss to you that you didnt mention it.

allant - demons souls

King of the land, already mentioned in the intro, explained as the instigator of it all by his son, the prince.

nashandra - dark souls2

"epic" "twist" incredibly foreshadow that the queen is evil and we fight her, we even speak to her before it

wet nurse, gherman and moon presence - bloodborne

The first real TWIST BOSSES, gherman is mentioned and we speak to him, but the other two are literally who before the fight, some would argue both work to make the game feel even more lovecraftian, fighting shit you dont know for reasons you cant quite understand

soul of cinder - dark souls 3

This one is interesting, technically speaking we never fought it nor we are ever presented with the "avatar of the flame" before it so it is kind of a twist, but personally i think it works as its very fan oriented, since the moment he starts using other builds and attacks you know like wotg, soul spear, power within and the iconic ninja flip, we get its theme, and its even more dramatically poignant in the 2nd phase, as any diehard fan will recognize both the song mix and the moveset.

Isshin - Sekiro

We talk to him through the game and while the resurrection bs is hidden (but you can find it in a note), there is sort of an emotion connection with wolf and him.

Radabeast - ER

ER lore is nonsense, but the first half works and is not a twist, we know of marika inside the tree and depending on you journey you find she is radagon, and even if you dont, you hear a lot about him and wonder where he is. Elden Beast however...sucks, i think visually is beautiful and i like the fight gameplay-wise unlike most, but unless you picked Elden Stars the motherfucker comes out of nowhere and has almost zero build up.

at this point why don't they just release bossrush games? this is obviously the only thing their braindead nigger audience wants, just press the dodge button again and again to avoid delayed attacks while AI composed fake gregorian chants blast in the background

why even maintain the pretense those are balanced experiences? just give these brown zoomers their dopamine rush and be done with it

Can someone reupload the video?

well yeah, I know, my point is that I think it'd feel better if the player had to make the choice to go to Belurat themselves so they can move to Enir Ilim, instead of the game teleporting us to Enri Ilim automatically.

tbf I wasn't speaking of final bosses I just meant bosses in general, ER is a pretty big offender of getting you to a bossroom and you see a motherfucker you never heard of before acting like he's hot shit, this felt less egregious in games before ER to my knowledge, in Sekiro if a boss gets a cutscene it's someone you know well, if it doesn't get a cutscene then it's just a powerful creature you encounter, only exception to this is maybe the 4 monkeys but that place was pretty funny so I let it slide.

ER lore is nonsense

Lorelet detected, stooped reading

Don't blame rational people for being too level headed for that level of clown world.

Personally I wouldn't outright say nonsense but ER is the game that has made me think Fromsoft is going too far and they need to get off their own ass and stop trying to be cryptic on purpose and pull back a little.

Re upload the video fuckfaces.

From this list the only one that feels best is Geherman.
You have more than a few talks with him, and since you're both hunters it's a good feel of camraderie going on.
I would agree with ishin if he didn't just burst out of a guy younger than before and with a glock in his pocket, i know river of souls japanese mith and stuff but it felt more silly than cool.
But the others are litteral who's the game mentioned a single time about 40 hours ago and never again.

ER is a pretty big offender of getting you to a bossroom and you see a motherfucker you never heard of before acting like he's hot shit,

Every single remembrance boss is already somewhat hinted at, including the final boss. In the DLC there's even half a dozen questlines revolving about him besides the character and that didn't stop people from being confused because Souls lore is hard to grasp and requires an understanding of the game metaphysics

in Sekiro if a boss gets a cutscene it's someone you know well

No, you don't. Genichiro is a literal who in the tutorial, so is Lady Butterfly. They actually come out of nowhere, you are just inherently biased

the only people that like souls slop are zoomers that pretend to read berserk and they're all plebs thinking they're hot shity by beating ~le hard game~

Hello Vaati, nobody cares about "lore" told in random notes with the cadence of a crackhead.
People only like lore when it's told in a 30 minutes format video to put in the background while doing other stuff.

zoomers were in diapers when Demon's Souls release

No, everything in Elden Ring/Shadow of the Erdtree is explained, thus it can't be cryptic since nothing is up to debate. The only difference is between people that can connect the various elements and people who don't
We went through this with every Souls game. The majority of people who think they know Demon's Souls, Dark Souls or Dark Souls 2 they don't, and with Bloodborne onwards that's just gradually more clear that most people can't piece the actual story together, thus this gets gradually more clear as the story is more character-centric, involved and based around occurring events as much as background lore.

Super Souls Bros Ultimate?
FROM is one "featuring Dante from Devil May Cry" away from breaking keyfabe and getting publicly laughed at by everyone that's not a retarded consoomer.

nobody cares

You will seethe about ut for many more months

Lady Butterfly hints at being an old aquaintance of wolf, Genichiro is the first boss and he cuts off your hand, also Kuro mentions him in his ghost appearance thingies, clearly someone who he knows and obviously the guy ruling the military of Ashina.

In Elden Ring Rogier mentions Maliketh once and missing Rogier is easy as hell anyway, and beast clergyman desu does get hinted at if you follow D's instructions but he talks to you like you're someone who he knows well ven though chances are you see the beast clergyman like once or twice if you even figure out to bring him the deathroot.
Malenia appears a lot in markering but in the game itself she just appears out of nowhere and I think the only mention of her is by Morgott and in one of the sword monuments, still, the demigods arguably do get good enough buildup kind of? It's pretty easy to get to Mohg without knowing what the fuck he even is though.
Astel seems fine to me cause Astel feeling confusing is fine in my eyes but why the fuck do we even kill the ancestral spirit and what even is it? When playing the game it feels like you just light fires and then kill a helpless animal twice for no reason.

I liked your videos more that I liked the lore as presented in-game.
And if a single guy retelling stuff can make stuff more enjoyable than the default you know you have fucked up somewhere.

btw why there's 2 beast clergyman?

people want a moody spectacle in my moody spectacle game aaah I'm going insane save me indie pixelart ally bros

go back to schedule 1, the weed has slowed your mind

I feel like I have a much better understanding of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1 than of anything in Elden Ring because when it comes to Elden Ring I can't even picture a chronology in my head.

So Marika became a god but... how? How did she gain prominence? Was she put in the jar and came out a saint? But I saw this one video once that explained that this was a misconception due to translation issues, was Marika the one that betrayed the hornsent? She was a friend of them for a time by pretending? The item descriptions say Messmer was aquainted with Radahn and they seemed to have met but then that would make Messmer's purge way later down in the chronology than one would think, how long have the demigods lived anyway? Cause to me it felt like maybe 200 years and the shattering was like 5 years ago but there's a chance the shattering was 100 years ago, or 200, and the demigos maybe are fucking 10000 years old, I don't fucking know anything anymore.

Interesting, i enjoyed writing the last post so i will do for the remembrance bosses in ER, only base game though, SotE is a whole other can of worms

Godrick

I wont even talk this one, he is foreshadowed plenty

Renalla

Gideon mentions her and gives you a small talk about it (this one is going to count for all shardbearers btw), not to mention we see paintings of her in Raya Lucaria AND you can talk about her with Turtle Pope.

Morgott

Margit, Gideon, night cavalry, king of fucking Leyndell.

Radahn

Gideon, every mention of his Malenia fight, the redmanes, Alexander, Ranni's quest, Radahn's fucking festival build up.

Rykard

We see his painting, his wife mentions him, Rya's quest kinda, everything involving volcano manor and mt.gelmir kinda mentions him, and of course the assassin questline.

ancestral spirit

Literal who, just an end to a repeated sidequest, but its also just a deer corpse, dont feel much need for build up

fortissax

While you can find some godwyn and dragons mention, yeah this one is out of nowhere too

placydussax

same as above, maybe you see one or other mention he exists, maybe

fire giant

The giants, their god, war and lore is mentioned plenty

maliketh

Both him and Gurranq have a decent lore before fighting them

mogh

literally all over TLB with his blood cult

malenia

Just as much as Radahn

Godfrey

Mentioned plenty too

So out of the big ones, just like 3 or 4 out of 15 are literally who by the time you fight them, and its mot like previous games didnt have out of nowhere bosses, so it doesnt bother me much.

You talk to nashandra, she has multiple lines of dialogue, npcs mention her, you get cursed by her painting, you are being a bit disingenuous here man.

Ok, but how many of them have we seen before their fight not counting the 10 seconds of the opening cinematic 20 hours before the fight itself?

he doesn't know

True loregods will ignore nightslop just like they ignore ds2

people want a moody spectacle in my moody spectacle game

literal chatGPT created post, fromtrannies aren't sentient

Time travel, uhhhh... dreams, uhhh... no actually you're in the past while being in the present and, uhhh... LISTEN IT'S HAD TO WRITE A COHERENT STORY WHEN I WANT TO FORCE MY SUPER COOL FURSONA IN THE GAME OKAY?

I don't know, i think elden ring does the best work to hype up its bosses
I could understand your feeling when talking about bloodborne or any of the ds but ER is fine

how did she gain prominence?

erdtree was planted and golden will selected her as messiah

time is confused

yes, shattering likely happened hundreds of years ago in that setting, everyone is batshit or straight up revenants because the order of the erdtree (cycle of life and death) is messed up

Elden Ring I can't even picture a chronology in my head.

ER's intro cinematic gives you the whole chronology, it's pretty much just like the Dark souls' intro

Do you count statues? Because if you do.

gwyn

anor londo

nashandra

in the castle, chilling any time you want to talk to her

gherman

same as above

isshin

same as above

radagon

every church of marika has a statue of marika and therefore radagon

So 5 out of 7 have a final boss show up in game before the fight and not in the intro, not bad, if you dont count statues then it goes to a 3 out of 7.

I think I probably worded my feelings wrong and maybe I am biased after all.

To me seeing some alien shit in Bloodborne seems fine, cause it seems like I'm uncovering unknown things and even if I don't understand what Ebrietas even is that's kind of the point.

When it comes to DS3 we just have th classic introduction cutscene that shows off the main bosses of the game.

In Elden Ring I got to Mohg and Gurranq/Maliketh and to ancestral spirit with 0 idea of who or what the fuck they are and why I'm killing them other than this being a vieogame where you kill things, and Malenia would have applied to this too had she not been on trailers and Morgott didn't mention her.

So maybe I just had bad luck with questlines in ER or I paid less attention but it felt less right to me.

I WILL stand by my opinion that fromsoft questline design is trash and needs to be changed, it was already trash since Demon's Souls btw, but they never fixed and ER being open world made it seems even worse.

The video has been removed
Can anyone gimme a tldw?

Elden Ring intro tells you there was a shattering and the demigods fought, it doesn't go into detail of the history of the world at all, 50% of it is the guy screaming "AND WHO COULD FORGET, SIR GIDEON OFNIT, THE AAAAL KNOOOWWWING" which was pretty fun but still.

So the people in charge on the game literally wrote something where anything can happen, at any point, at any time, and have lasting consequences, or not, because everything is pick and choose of what is real or not?
Not debating this slop too much but doen't this defeat any kind of tension you could have if a canon deus-ex machina can just randomly happen to solve everything or fuck everything over?

you kill the nightlord. you give/destroy nightlord rune in front of some dude with no explanation. credits. enigmatic cutscene where the erdtree banishes and/or beckons a sleeping Ent representing the nightlord/chaos and he walks off

every church of marika has a statue of marika and therefore radagon

There are literal Radagon statues too though, and he's the second Elden lord, mentioned multiple times.

I'm not a big fromsoft defender, but the idea is the shattering means life, death, and even time itself is fundamentally cracked and dysfunctional, so yes it does lend itself to multiverse/messed up timeline shifting

guy with sword and then dies but then there's a giant tree man and the lands between from Elden Ring 1 appears but he walks away and it seems kind of sad.

So Marika became a god but... how? How did she gain prominence?

She usurped the grace of the actual chosen God from her dead body, because all aspiring Gods must die in order to be reborn as vessels

was Marika the one that betrayed the hornsent? She was a friend of them for a time by pretending?

She betrayed the Hornsent with Fundamentalism, abandioning the Crucible currents in order to seeks the true origin of the Elden Ring through the light cipher of the Two Fingers, that's when she sealed the Realm of Shadow.
You can also tell because the emblem of the Golden Order changes for the spirals of the Erstree depiction to the simple symbol of the Elden Ring surrounded by ciphers.
This is why Marika becomes a real God in theend, by using Law of Regression to bring the true form of the Elden Ring (Elden Beast, before it trasmuted into the concept of Order), quite literally regressing to the original falling star. She also dies and is reborn again as Empyrean half of Radagon, meaning her ascension as true God is actually complete.

golden_order.png - 512x512, 172.32K

Yeah, in Liurnia and Leyndell i think, and there are paintings of him in the round table too.

And if i want to be REALLY pedantic to the guy i replied to, technically speaking the true final boss of demons is real Allant, and you fight fake allant and hear real Allant's voice after you beat the fake.

So if you count that its 6 out of 7 games, only soul of cinder that we dont see before the fight after the intro.

To me seeing some alien shit in Bloodborne seems fine, cause it seems like I'm uncovering unknown things and even if I don't understand what Ebrietas even is that's kind of the point.

This is actually a great take, I think it makes perfect sense in bloodborne, you're right.

In Elden Ring I got to Mohg and Gurranq/Maliketh and to ancestral spirit with 0 idea of who or what the fuck they are

I also think this is a fair take, not every boss is going to get proper exposure, but I think in ER they build their big characters way better than all the other games, that was more of my argument.

I WILL stand by my opinion that fromsoft questline design is trash

Yeah, I don't think anyone can disagree with this shit, it's bad because they don't really give you enough hints for the next steps and most of them are the same flavour of "huh tarnished im just tired i will wonder to my next location see you later"

And one could've made an interesting story on that, something about finding companions to fight through this nonsensical stuff, and go some degree of psychological horror finding out some of them were never real or some of your companions remember people you never met on never existed at all for added wtf value of reality fuckery.
But in usual FROM fashion the cool stuff already happened and you're just the janny mopping up enemies for free.

is this Miyazaki approved lore?!?!?!

Retard

every church of marika has a statue of marika and therefore radagon

Radagon is a complete separate entity, a larval tear imbued with red amber of the Erdtree, created by Marika to have a fitting candidate to merge with.

They weren't in the same body until they shattered themselves to unite and form an Empyrean.

it's miyazaki's style for the player to be "the one" that finally destroys/revitalizes a decayed world in eternal stasis, yes.

Literally nothing in any From game in the last decade has been nearly as egregious as the hallway of 20 capra demons and 15 dragon asses. All lined up and shamelessly copypasted atop neon yellow lava.

Yes, it shows the first Erdtree burning and the boss is akin to Manus
Go fuck yourself, tourist

Literally nothing in any From game in the last decade has been nearly as egregious as the hallway of 20 capra demons and 15 dragon asses.

What's 2+2?

From fell off

She usurped the grace of the actual chosen God from her dead body, because all aspiring Gods must die in order to be reborn as vessels

OOOOOOH this is actually an interesting take on what happens in the story trailer of the DLC, but in the DLC itself when playing we never hear even a shred of evidence or information around this so it's easy to not know why tf sh became a god.

yeah Dark Souls games usually have a post-apocalyptic setting where everyone is a crazy zombie or rabid animal.

No, everything in Elden Ring/Shadow of the Erdtree is explained, thus it can't be cryptic since nothing is up to debate

People don't even know if Marika had a hand in The Night of the Black Knives, what the fuck are you on about?

Yes, it shows the first Erdtree burning and the boss is akin to Manus

FUAAAAACK I WAS TOLD MYHACKZAKI DIDNT WORK ON THIS PIECE OF SHIT AND WAS NOT CANON
IM NOT GOING TO BUY THIS SLOP FOR SOME LORE DROPLETS
FUCK THIS SHIT

It’s actually insane how such a big game has no fucking story. Like I’m supposed to care enough to deal with this gofuckyourself difficulty for nothing. I went frenzied flame out of spite. Lands between fucking sucks and everyone dying forever is the good ending.

Literally conjunction of the spheres/wild hunt asspull

Trying to get myself to finish ER after three years and I honestly wish it was this, not because I enjoy the bosses but because the exploration doesn’t exist and it would be over sooner.

I don't mind reused assets at all but I'm mad that they could've gone with more bosses and maps instead of 9 with one. I hope there's a silly story like promised.

So what's the deal with the DS bosses? Is there an actual explanation or is it just member berries?

ZERO (0) nulla videos

fuck this thread

The tree should have grabbed you and thrown you into the city

wasted potential to not put an armored core boss in the game

People don't even know

People are retarded, it's beyond clear that Marika uses the Black Knives to sacrifice Demigods
The ritual of sacrifices is carried out from the previous Goddess

Reading these in a list made me remember again how fucking front loaded this game is.
Turtle pope has a fucking cutscene about some secret love shit with somebody whose names I’ve forgotten by now. Random incantation selling NPC has animated boss lore.
Then leyndell onward everything is fucking empty, literally who bosses, there aren’t even NPCs past the snowfield, story stops existing, mindless boss rush.
It’s half of a game because it was more important to copy paste a hundred more overworld bosses that nobody needs

marika is radagon

boy is a girl

Oh it’s a tranny game. For trannies. I get it now. Uninstalled.

but ER levels are ALSO better than DaS1 levels

lol
LMAO EVEN
ER levels are literally just a bunch of nothingness
Sen's Fortress, the Catacombs, Burg + Parish, Depths and Blighttown are better than any ER levels. The only one of similar quality is the Shunning Grade

but in the DLC itself when playing

The literal trailer shows Marika taking the grace from the shroud of the aspiring new God, which is also shown in Enir-Ilim

OOOOOOH this is actually an interesting take

It's also correct
Most people are low IQ

Webm?

The vision of what DS2 has definitely lived on in Elden Ring and became what DS2 was unable to do due to the many problems that game had

They both tell the story of a queen who convinced her badass warrior husband to go kill all the giants for her so she could advance het own agenda and then betrayed him once he was no longer of use.

Both DS3 and ER have tons of influence from DS2, especially in terms of core mechanics and balance changes.
Yui Tanimura, the DS2 was director, worked alongside Miyazaki on both these games as co-director.
Tons of ideas got ported over nearly 1:1 because they worked very well:

estus shard/golden seed system

midroll up to 70% weight

rolling in any direction while locked on

effigy/ember/rune arc useable at any time and get HP back to max or get stat boost via great rune effects

hit stun limit in PvP to prevent infinite stunlocks

casting magic also consumes stamina to limit perpetual spam

backstabs have 2 way confirmation via a grab animation

guardbreak on a blocking enemy allows for a riposte

jumping attacks on all weapons unpariable

ultra/colossal weapons unpariable when 2H, except rolling/running attacks

reasonable poise/hyperarmor levels that allowed for strategic trades but not facetanking endgame bosses

parry frames active at the apex of the shield swing, not instantly at the start

4 ring slots so you can still have some interesting synergies and use of niche effects instead of having 90% of players just put on Havel's ring and Ring of Favor

blue sentinels to save hosts from invaders

limited respec

power stancing with any 2 weapons of the same class (only ER)

rolling in poison/rot covers you and build up the status (only ER)

rolling in water raises fire def by 20% and lowers lightning def by 20% (only ER)

Where in the game is it said that Marika killed the aspiring god or stole away her corpse and literally pulled out the divinity out of her to be able to shape her order?

>gherman

same as above

If fucking only, I think I can barely speak to him three times in any given BB run.

If he isnt in the house, he is in the garden weeping like a wuss.

Where in the game is it said that Marika killed the aspiring god

I didn't say that. See? You don't even have the attention span to read a fucking post. You never had any chance to understand the game.
The next God has to die, and is then carried to the top of Enir-Ilim to be reborn.
Miquella died and Marika to become a true God also plans for the Tarnished to obtain Death after shattering the Elden Ring, in order to die and be reborn as Maragon, actual God vessel of Elden Beast

You might legit be sub 90 IQ if you can't notice it yourself

based and correct
It was the culmination of the DeS + DS1 formulas, and retards jerking off over Artorias and dying 10000 to him were too stupid to appreciate that

Nigga the trailer has her pulling some gold strings out of a what looks like a cloth or maybe flayed skin it's not explicitly said that it's someone else's cadaver, that's why I was asking you fucking negroid, you act like it's objectively 100% correct but you point to a trailer where everything is vague as fuck.

it's not explicitly said that it's someone else's cadaver

It is, by showing what that is
It's the shroud of the actual Goddess candidate, shown here

I have played Dark SOuls 2 for a total of 5 minutes in my life and all I know about it is that moving the character around and dodgin and attacking and shit just feels way off compared to ther other From games, idk what's up with the movement in that game, it feels like the ground has a very weak glue so all the characters kind of sticking to it a little bit every time they walk or smth.

The only difference is between people that can connect the various elements and people who don't

There are also people that aren't going to bother connecting the various elements because it's more work than beating the game itself and completely divorced from the gameplay, which is the main draw of the series

DLC packs that add bosses, weapons, spells, & armors from Demon's, Dark Souls 1, 2, 3, & Bloodborne, please.

I see why you may think this is depicting the thing Marika is pulling strings out of but there's many other reasons why the hornset may depict the carrying of corpses even if you think they are weaker arguments, for instance, enir ilim seems to have bodies coming out of the trees and architecture itself, they sacrificed many lifes, presumably of Marika's people, for the sake of building the tower of divinity, it would make more sense if this image depicted a mor notable ritual as you say in this case of a chose goddess but that does raise questions like... why would the chosen goddess have to be dead? Or have to die?

I'm just saying that there's a non-zero chance that this view of things isn't completely correct

new game is so shit half of the thread is autistic nitpicking about the previous title's fanfiction tier "narrative"

great game you have here faggots

Retard

enir ilim seems to have bodies coming out of the trees and architecture itself, they sacrificed many lifes, presumably of Marika's people

No. Enir-Ilim had been built by the Ancient Dynasties. Only the actual crude Gate of Divinity was built by the Hornsent, with their own dead people that are horned (because people in Elden Ring bury their dead in their main religious buildings to accumulate Death)
The Goddess must be dead because rebirth is a necessary step to ascension.
This is why the Goddess and the Lord are shown tied by a Crucible current and covered in shrouds.
Marika's ascension was illegitimate and thus flawed, Marika wasn't an Empyrean, is never stated to be an Empyrean and instead takes grace off the actual dead Empyrean.

This isn't the first time marriage for ascension equals death in Miyazaki games either.

concession and dilation accepted

What's the deal with the colossal tree giant?

tainted grail is the perfect RPG for fromfaggots because you can make a parry/dodge build, it just came out recently too. its great if you like eurojank

can someone re-upload?

>

381.jpg - 1007x891, 190.06K

Really? I thought Enir Ilim was built by hornsent using Shaman bodies and then Marika used hornsent bodies from the purge to make the more crude gaste of divinity.

Your theory does seem more likely though in the sense that Marika making that divinity door so quick without hornsent help wouldn't really be a thing... and it does seem like the hornset would not mind putting their bodies to use when making that gate, specially considering their culture of ascetics, however, I am pretty sure that when I played Enir Ilim was full of spiral imagery in courtains and those spiral trees and spiral pillars seen all over Belurat too, and Belurat has to be the work of hornset people right?

Though I guess the hornset could have taken over that tower and decorated it with their own culture afterwards. Still, it's hard for me to point out what culture made that divine tower cause it doesn't seem like the blackstone civilization from Rauh made it, nor the dynastic civilization we see from the underground areas.

here you go bro

How do you feel about getting to a boss and it's someone you didn't even know it existed before?

I actually dont care and i think you people who put a lot of weight on story in games are nerdy weirdos. Lets assume for a moment that story is actually very important. Even so why is it bad to not learn about a boss until after you fight them? Also keep in mind the main bosses in elden ring do have build up if you do all the content before them.

to this day I still don't know how you're supposed to reliably hit Gurranq and doge him too, seems like you have to choose to do one or the other lmao.

don't care
wake me up when they release a good game

WE WANT PVP
WE WANT WRITTEN AND VOICE CHAT
WE WANT PING VOICELINES(I'm going here/going with you)
WE WANT MORE DARKSOULS BOSSES
WE WANT MORE MAPS AND/OR LEGACY LOCATIONS IN LIMVELD
WE WANT MORE SEXY PLAYABLE WOMEN
WE WANT MORE NIGHTLORDS

come sign my change.org petition

I still don't know what this spinoff is supposed to be

IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN GODWYN DAMMIT

No skimpy suits for the girls

I'm not signing shit faggot

we got nightlords but what about nightladies

be hater

kinda getting hyped

huh bwos?! tell me this game is a flop and not worth my time...pls

Doesn't matter because ER is open world and DS2 isn't, which automatically makes DS2 better

Godwyn has a dedicated ending where he becomes the mending rune of death, pay attention to the game and not Reddit threads. He was never going to be a boss - ask yourself why you fight Fortissax instead of Godwyn? The opportunity was there. Well you wouldn't know since you clearly didn't do Fia's quest.

There has only ever been one erdtree and there's no such thing as a sun realm

this
I used to make fun of this game because it's an obvious excuse to profit from asset flipping but now?... kinda tempting ngl...

I think they've mentioned live-service about this game so I wouldn't be surprised if this got monthly updates or random content drops. Even just dropping in new day 1/2 bosses would be nice

My WoW guild just died so this is a no-brainer instant buy for me.

A friend preordered the $200 collector's edition...
I'm really hoping this turns out to be mid as fuck.

Doomposters and baiters are having a bad day convincing everyone, huh?

nobody tell him it's been this way since 3.

I mean Consort was such a shit boss, you cant blame people for thinking it was fake

Multiverse slop lore is neglectable. this has been the case since comic books introduced that garbage like 50? years ago

From trannies can't defend this slop

Shadow of the Erdtree completely destroyed the illusion that Elden Ring has good or interesting lore. I spent 2 years theorizing about ER lore and since playing SOTE a year ago I haven’t thought about the lore once. Amazing that the game for which they hired GRRM ended up having the worst writing.

There is only one Erdtree.
People would have known if it was burnt in the past.
But literally no one ever says anything about that.
FROM isn't going to hide one of the biggest reveals in the game behind the most obscure details. Dark Souls and Bloodborne never did anything like that. The important stuff was always obvious, so too here.

Everything GRRM touches outside his work turns into shit.

All of his attacks where he does something with the ground (stabbing with his knife, preparing the quake, grabbing a big rock, even the shard throws) have a safe opening.

Yep.

There is absolutely zero noticeable GRRM influence in Elden Ring. This is the EXACT same plot from Dark Souls that they have rehashed for the last 6 games. That's fine, I don't really care about that, but I'm not going to pretend it's not the exact same loose story every time.

did they really?

Aren't alll the similar sounding names his influence?

Marika is not dead.
We 'marry' her in most endings when we become the Elden Lord.

No, think of Dark Souls: Gwyn, Gwyndolin, Gwynevere, etc. They are all even doing machiavellion god machinations on one another and shit too

The lore is more advanced than DS1's and characters are a little more morally grey compared to good vs evil.

That's exactly what it is. It's streamer bait. 1000% streamer bait.

that's just true of every successive Fromsoft game, it gets a little more complex but it's always half a dozen godlike characters scheming against one another to become the 1 true almighty god

Sekiro is the most radically different in story, I would assume GRRM worked on that game and not Elden Ring, given the presence of clans and real life large scale politics and warfare

Everyone is trashing it what are you talking about lol

It's not. They said openly the game has nothing to do with base Elden Ring. It's literally just FromSlop All Stars asset flip to bait retards into.

Fire Giant

The Godzilla event might be pay to play

Wake me up inside

The point retard, is that DS2 was originally meant to be a huge open world game when it was supposed to be an 8th gen with its original director. This concept was reused for ER.

But yes, release DS2 is indeed better than ER. I can agree with you on that.

the Haligtree is good looking but that place has 0 coherence on how it's built because it makes absolutely 0 sense (how the fuck would Loretta or any albinauric ever get her horse to her bossroom when the haligtree requires to parkour for a whole ass level?)

by sea using a boat, duh

Told you guys you lost. Already at 157k players. Looks like all that doom and gloom meant nothing.

And it will die within a week after everyone goes through the 20 hours experience.

Elden Ring is the worst offender of this and I can think of many ways this could be fixed but Fromsoftware has too much of a boner for avoiding having any story that isn't on item descriptions.

this is why everyone loves Ranni's questline, it feels like an entire game inside elden ring

YOOO ROLLSLOP ENDING WOW SUPER AMAZING LETS FUCKING GO. CANT WAIT FOR SOULS YOUTUBER WITH ANGLO ACCENT 7 HOURS LONG ANALYSIS VIDEOS SO DOPE

does the whole game take place in limgrave?

Duchessbros, she's so ass...

How the fuck do I heal

none of that retard shit you posted matters. they could have made it happen.

60 euros for a nexusmods tier mod (which would otherwise be free and actually respectable)

try to heal teammate

they keep moving out of the way

why

pretty sure a lot of these "players" are bots. I swear, they dont react to gestures or nothing

So its a purely coop game. What changes have they made to the Soul format to make the coop more front and center?

The setup for SoC is also interesting with how the kiln looks like a nuclear blast site with a hollowed elite knight just chilling by a bonfire in the middle of it. Though we do get the in-universe explanation, from a visual standpoint it literally looks as if your DS1 character was just chilling there the whole time after linking the flame in the first game, waiting for someone to come and fight him.

none, really. playing solo doesn't work and the game punishes you harshly for it because its shit

While I agree that Elden Beast is hardly foreshadowed, it does act more as a revelation in visually explaining the deal behind the Elden Ring in how it's obviously brought on by something otherwordly. It's more or less you figuring out the origins of the Elden Ring itself through simple yet breathtaking visuals.

Ranni's quest really is insanely overdeveloped compared to how bare bones (if not downright unfinished) most of the other sidequests are.
