What are the passive effects from maxing them out? Is it just Valors straight lifted from Bozja like % more HP per tank sub job at max level or is it weird sub job specific stuff like uhhh...whatever that could be maybe something dumb like % chance to poison a target.

Also is there any elemental gear or augmented resistance / law order stuff to make you stronger in the zone? I collected all the shit in Bozja and it made leveling stuff up much more fun, Vipper at like 1.7 speed was a grand time.

If you're not going to try and clear other shit you haven't done like idk if you've gotten done all the Deep Dungeons or shit like BA, but if you aren't going to bother with all that and you feel that you'll finish 7.1, 7.2, and all the raids in a few days then you're probably a player that paces themselves such that you'll finish this content in the one month you sub (unless you're into crafting too, CE takes a good while to get anything decent). That being said, 7.3 will probably be out right at the end of that month.

I really did only a few of the two Deep Dungeon paths and didn't clear them all. It just got exhausting running the same thing but slightly different over and over. And I've barely scratched Eureka, while hitting a stopping point at the end of the first Bozja zone. Also got Pandemonium to close up eventually, and after that, the EW and DT Role Quests since I got a lot of stuff to lv90 but not everything handled on that front just yet.
Besides an optional dungeon or two, I think the only other shit I have untouched is entirely Crafters/Gatherers and the Beast Tribe stuff.

Passives are just a straight Dmg/Healing increase like Bozja. Not sure on exact %, but it very much just that. There is 745 gear from the vendor, with 2 levels of upgrades to them. Each gives +1/2/3 to Special Atttribute stat, which just boosts Phantom abilities.

I'm surprised how much fun I'm having, even though I've mainly just been doing FATEs and CEs like it's Bozja all over again.

Time Mage is pretty fun so far, you can dualcast/swiftcast the comet once a minute. Which is pretty obviously not the most broken shit ever when you look at some of the other jobs, but it synergizes pretty well with casters/red mage. Monk's (the other job I've leveled a bit) damage buff is probably more damage overall if you can keep it up, but kicking shit is daunting when mechanics get in the way.

Join one of the discords to do Forked Tower because it's the only way to do this fucking content

You get to fight on the bridge during the uhhh...allied role quests? I'm not sure if they have a name but when you finish all the role quests you unlock the final set of ones and deal with the cute evil rabbit leader.

No, you buy potions that you can use as Chemist to fully refresh HP/MP, so any job that uses MP to burst like a BLM or DRK can do that as much as you want.
SAM's last skill needs to consume a chest item you buy to be activated too
It's pretty underwhelming but also it's one of the jobs that need to be bought with gold coins that are a pain to farm, so not many people have it.

I haven't been able to to do any large group content without dying since Dun Scaith. I die (frequently) to every alliance raid, all the FATEs and CEs in Field Operation content, and any of the "major" world FATEs or S Ranks unless they are zerg rushed by dozens of people. I'm just soooo glad there's so many other dead bodies around me, I wouldn't be able to do the content if it was just me.

In Bozja clearing without getting hit got you the points to duel.
Here it doesn't matter. I was face first on the floor 90% of the fight against the Berserker and ended up getting a field note, a demiatma, and a soul stone or whatever they're called all from that one fight.

No ranger because the archery aspect is half baked into bard.
Astro is a retarded amalgam of Time Mage and Oracle even though they've been progressively pruning time magic from its kit over the years.

astrologian too is a really fucking weird choice in hindsight, all three heavensward jobs were made to power-wank final fantasy tactics (war of the lions-like dark knight, machinist based on mustadio, astrologian based on orran durai) and all three of them had to abandon those designs over time and err more traditionally because they don't fucking work for theme, interest, or design

Freelancer is the job that gets more power the more jobs you have maxed, pretty sure when you have all other jobs at 25 it’s going be fucking crazy. Just the fact it has a skill that heals you for 30% of your hp with just a gcd cool down is fucking crazy

Freelancer back in FFV didn't literally mix jobs directly. Instead you mastered them and took the abilities unlocked by doing so across the game's length to mix and match as you pleased, like Black and Time Magic on one character, or Cover and Counter. If Phantom Jobs are any worthwhile shit in the long term of OC, that's the culmination by the end of all this: Freelancer getting an upgrade to equip whatever abilities together.

Mastery stat buff isn't even exclusive to freelancer.
The job caps at 10 and so far it's only good for grinding treasure chests

yeah freelancer already and just as it is seems built for people who've mastered 5+ jobs and they're just in there for fucking around, loot, or tome grinding for relics

Honestly I wonder if it can even balance itself in the long term for this sort of stuff. 25 Jobs, meta-mixes, some insane abilities like Tanks basically healing off anything but one-shots, paying money to do nukes, boosting party factors, crazy stuff all around and some super crazy party mix-ups if done right. Which is probably why Forked Tower doesn't fuck around. By the point of this thing's endgame they're either gonna need to go Baldesion Arsenal or beyond just to keep the challenge factor up, but it's still at least people setting up their own stuff instead of just generic party compositions.

I've been having fun. The fights are really fun with some being near the level of Extremes.

My two major gripes is the story being an incredibly dull, flimsy excuse to just go to a mystery island, and the phantom exp to level the phantom jobs just being way too grindy. I can live with Atma for the first relic but no way I'm grinding out all these phantom jobs.

Bozja's story was messy and had an unsatisfactory end with too many loose ends, but at least it was interesting. Hope this picks up in the second part/alliance raid if there is one.

Anon, they cut the problem down entirely because once you've got the Atma the first time, you never need to do them again for any other weapons, it skips to the Tomestone phase. It's literally just your initial grind so the content isn't irrelevant too quickly.

Plenty of people like to fantasize how they want branching immersive dungeons like old BRD, but nobody actually wants to engage with that content.

Anons I know most of you faggots don't care but the Hildibrand quests have been excellent so far, genuinely the only good thing to come out of solution 9, they can finally do some noir kino.

but if you kill enemies in a specific pattern as hinted vaguely by a prior thing you could've missed examining, and then proceed to light three candles, then run over and do a series of emotes in front of an unmarked object, you'll get this secret boss route

variants were great. hancock had a great dungeons. once again raid trannies want "content" but when they cant read a guide they cry and seethe and dilate.

The secret routes are literally spelled out for you in plain English if you just read the lore entries. It's not hard at all to solve them and looking up a guide just ruins the whole point. You may as well watch youtube instead.

I did almost all of them blind minus one route in Rokkon.
The biggest problem is that it's so boring to repeat the whole dungeon again to try something else, there needs to be a way to speed things up or be less monotonous.
