At high enough ranks you no longer need to chase events (outside of legendary events since those are still worth 1000) since basic enemies start to give 100s of points.

I think slate and dark fire grinding is the first thing to do in end game
getting legendary tier tools and weapons of the shadow stuff is way easier and you get armor too, which gives you a big stat boost for being able to do the harder stuff to get more materials.

groves are the best way to get the shadow materials basically and you need a bunch of slates, you can farm the castle for a decent amount of slates but you get very little else, gino has a lot of materials that are listed as grove only if you get certain areas to lvl 5 as well.
true time gear is worth it if you are going for ultra end game and want things to chase but otherwise the shadow gear is good enough yeah

I have no idea why the shrines aren't actual puzzle dungeons like Zelda, the whole game is combat, so im not sure why they felt the need to make like half of the 20 something shrines combat. I really hope with DLC or the next game they include jumping in the level design and puzzle solving in the dungeons because Im kinda disappointed that all caves and dungeons are shit enemies and gather nodes spammed everywhere. another issue is the "room by room" format of a lot of the "dungeons"
it's essentially grid-based and that kills the feel of exploration
some rooms are rectangles/circles sure, but how many DON'T adhere to the "grid"?
even the first fantasy life had shaped dungeons, like I remember where you'd mine for the dragon fossils and that had a ramp up the back, some rooms had good verticality to them with bridges across spires and a ground level in the same place, etc

It's mostly better equipment (and later having Alchemy buddies) that matter more. To get Perfect or Great Work, you have to fill the bar to 100% within a certain number of turns. For HP potions I think it's pretty much completing it with 6 turns remaining for Perfect, or 4 for Great Work. Getting Excellent consistently helps a lot in that, though if the problem is that you can't complete actions quick enough, look for equipment that has Crafting Time+ on it ('increases Crafting Time by x%').

Alchemy is the skill you use to make better Flasks, so it's the 'make tools to make better tools to make better tools to make better tools' scenario

Recipes for Flasks? Get higher Alchemist rank. It's just that simple. Each rank of a Crafter class unlocks more recipes, and the important ones from Blacksmithing and Carpenter is the same in that ranking up unlocks a better tool for their own classes as well (Blacksmith Hammers and Carpenter Saws).

no, because having that zone at level 5 does not increase the likelihood of a mob spawning there. it just tells the game that IF something spawns there, it should be higher level. and whether or not a higher zone level increases drops has been hotly debated throughout many threads
