FPGAs suck.
MiSTers suck.
I am not having a blast.
Fuck your thread.

It's not as cheap as emulating on devices you already own, but it's not as authentic as the real hardware.

What's the point?

Honestly I don't even hate FPGA, but boy has it become yet another techbro buzzword trap for idiots to fall into.

I would rather buy one of these chinese mini bricks and use emuls.

Heres that super nintendo you wanted son

with how cutthroat the pricing of retro game collections have become, honestly I'd be happy just to get an emulation box for my theoretical kids so they can enjoy the games directly.
but i sure as fuck wouldn't be paying like $200 for one.

Is cheaper than authentic hardware and you can emulate multiple devices in one device

Absolutely not cheaper than authentic

Why wouldn't you just spend $200 more for a deck

Go look up the price of CPS2 arcade boards brownoid.

what does it do?

It dougs

can it play CD-R games?

You can super with it

Look at the size of that thing it's smaller than a CD

explain to me what this can do that I can't do on my computer right now without using the word "accuracy" because literally nobody who has touched a woman gives a shit

You can pretty much emulate everything but 8gen games on it.

When It comes to emulation 6th gen and older is good because games where optimized for hardware.

It's not until 7th gen that games started to take advantage of the PC hardware. When it comes to emulation on 7th gen and newer it usually just comes down to a few exclusive games.

240p/480i component output, serial connected original controllers, obviously no input lag.

Lowest latency option

No serious collector gives a shit about hardware emulation. Hardware is relatively cheap and abundant. People who just wanna game and don't give a shit about authenticity will continue to use software emulation for free. People who wanna play the game as intended will cough up for the hardware and possibly the games too. Hardware emulation is a meme middle ground.

using arcade boards to pump up the evaluation

So can the hardware emulation play my music in Vib Ribbon or Ridge Racer? Can it scan my CDs for Monster Rancher or Monster Rancher 2?

bunch of nigger babble that had nothing to do with the reply

Surely, the power of hardware emulation would be able to replicate all the features of a 30 year old launch title of the system its marketing campaign honed in on, right? I mean, it should be able to considering how much more expensive it is than authentic hardware. That would be silly, wouldn't it?

So can the hardware emulation play my music in Vib Ribbon or Ridge Racer? Can it scan my CDs for Monster Rancher or Monster Rancher 2?

The PSX core can swap discs, yes.

Woah! The goal posts are moving on their own

Those can't emulate shit past ps1 desu and probably even struggle with n64

you can show it off to all your friends because only losers and neets know how to emulate

Game?

Sweet.

can't answer an edge case emulation question

Ain't sending their best, are they?

What an asinine question

Anon gave you an exhibit of authentic hardware that is expensive to purchase that the device can do hardware emulation for. What more did you want?

what does it do?

Imagine you want a device that has less features than an emulator had 20 years ago, costs 200 dollars, and is constantly shilled by Indians on your favorite anonymous videogame message board. Enter the SuperStationᴼnᵉ.

In the webm anon. What game? Tell me!

cute furret.gif - 498x280, 408.27K

Not a single contributor to MiSTer is Indian, neither is Taki Udon.

Dunning Kruger the post

Just use your PC fucking manbaby consoomers

but muh portability

use your phone with one of those clamping gamepad accessories
it's fucking gross how excited people get over vidya products they don't need to actually play vidya

Android emulation

Lmao
No shame anon

He means you should read the filename before asking.

A glorified emulation machine

What a retarded way to waste money. I'll just buy another GPU.

Galaxy S24's been emulating 7th gen with ease, and anything newer worth playing deserves a larger screen

Who's banging down the door for CPS2 hardware emulation besides hardcore fighting game fans? I genuinely have no idea if people prefer arcade versions of Alpha, Darkstalkers, or the proto-MvC titles versus PS/Saturn/Dreamcast ports. Reminds me of people hawking those 1000 games-in-one romhack systems in the mall.

You can say nobody cares about the device but that's obviously not true given the popularity of mister for that exact purpose. You're just not the target audience. The "hardware is cheap and abundant" thing only applies if you play one or two consoles really

Runahead, PGXP correction, upscaling, 4k textures
Original can be had for cheap if you care about authenticity. Much more authentic. I have 2 chipped with M3 modchips. Or you can just get a PS2 and use GSM to force 1080i output over component. It's cheaper than getting a shitty FPGA, and the output is surprisingly sharp as I just found out.

Ah yes how could I possibly miss filename 1748662376810166.webm. you were very helpful senpai nigger-kun. Hopefully your more helpful to your mother so she doesn't regret having you.

same, my galaxy s22+ runs pokemon violet pretty good

Do phones not display filenames or something?

Shailoshana

buying overpriced Chinese gadgets when your phone can emulate up to ps2

I love watching retards fight, almost as much as I love watching retards make up stories about women to get mad at

file.png - 193x54, 11.51K

Why would anyone want this? A literal ps3 can already do this and do it better

They do if you know how to do it right but most people are new fags and don't know how to read file names on a phone. I don't like telling people how for gatekeeping reasons and because phonefags should be punished
