The hit registration is way better in GO. You can land shots in CS2 and the tick system will not register them.

they ruined the ranking system, netcode, took out all the fun modes like flying scoutsman and dangerzone and a large portion on the maps. Also cs2 has way more cheaters and heaps of performance issues even on good hardware.

reaction time

map knowledge

situational awareness

Only the last one is interesting to me, and I can get that from so many other, more interesting games. Also rampant cheating.

Counter Strike is so bad it's not even funny. Literally just a europoor and brown person game at this point.
It was great when it first came out, but it aged like milk.
The gunplay is shit. The map design is shit. The only fun is messing around in pubs or custom games.

I won't deny this. I don't care if I lose my hardcore gamer cred, I'm not going to pretend Counter Strike is good for having a stupidly steep learning curve. Enforcing 0 speed or your shots hit the floor is a terrible mechanic. It creates gameplay that leans way too heavily into meta knowledge, and no respawns means new players play for hours and learn jack shit from the experience. It's an awful time picking up the game.

I like it. I always liked it and i will continue to like it. But most importantly fuck cheaters, their moms and their sisters i hope they all get ass cancer.

theres tons of cheaters at every rank man. i dont play anymore but I was global on multiple accounts and I'd make new ones to play with my shitter RL friends. even in low silver we'd get people toggling rage hacks because they thought I was cheating.

I love counter strike but this game needs more fucking fun content outside of just deathmatch on the same few maps.
They leaned way too hard into the competitive aspect of this game and it feels like it's taking forever for it to be fun again. We still need a few more maps to return and maybe a fun mode or two before I'll be really happy with it. My issues mostly stem from I have friends who like the gameplay but they get bored instantly because theres not enough casual content.

Every PC game has cheaters, it's a part of PC gaming. Play in exclusively community servers (and hope the cheaters aren't admins/befriended admins), or join a tight community that hosts competitive games so anyone cheating will be called out by everyone and quickly blacklisted from the community.
