Thoughts on the Switch 2 Pro 2 Controller?
Thoughts on the Switch 2 Pro 2 Controller?
It's the same as the first one.
better be hall effect or tmr at that price
Interested to see how the back paddles feel. Would be nice if you could set them to be button combinations instead of just making duplicate inputs.
$80
Actually it's probably gonna be like $110 after tariffs. Considering Nintendo's shoddy quality over the last generation that's gonna be a no from me, especially when companies like 8bitdo and gamesaar produce controllers with premium materials and hall effect sensors for like a third of that price
how much is it? $200?
8bitdo and gamesaar produce controllers with premium materials
Okay, that one got me. Nice joke, anon.
Interested, if it has hall effect
If not it's literally worthless garbage
premium
My current pro controller is fine so I don't want it unless they make the dpad a little less mushy
I like the programmable back buttons, I hope I can set analog clicks to it, I hate having to click the analogs to run in some games
D-pad is awfully close to the left thumbstick
Right thumbstick is awfully close to the buttons
I predict hand crampage
The sticks are silent which is a great design. I'm very conscious of loud controllers and having the silence is a great feature.
The support page confirms the Switch 1 pro controller works on Switch 2 so I don't give a fuck.
What's the best Gamesir I can pick up for the Switch 2 right now instead of waiting for this junk?
same dpad
I was hoping for an xbox dpad uplift but if it's going to be the same bullshit dpad then nintendo can go fuck themselves lol
this piece of shit now costs more than the dualsense
Lmfao
They better fix the dpad
Xbox dpad is too clicky.
Exciting to finally have back paddles on a real console controller, 2 extra official buttons.
It's got back paddles and that chat button. No word on anything else or if the sticks are hall-effect or not though, Nintendo was being super dodgy about saying anything related to drift and that's making some reviewers grumpy. Nothing about drift on the joy-cons either.
Back paddles are nice, but I've pretty much dropped the AAA controllers these days, you can get chink controllers for $20-30 with actual legit hall effect sticks, and pick any size or shape you want. My 8BitDo piece of shit is my longest lasting controller ever, has no drift, and cost me $15 on sale.
(((nintendos))) D pad patent is what prevented the xbox 350 controller from being the GOAT
only other controller nintendo makes other than shitty gamecube remakes without pressure sensitivity is literally a knock off xbox controller
they deserve the fate of Ubisoft for this egregious faggotry
t. 8bitdo marketer
gm sir
Let me guess, the d-pad still sucks balls.
Default joycons have hall, they probably put on pro controller too.
The Switch pro DPAD is the best type of DPAD, I just hope the contacts are better
Perfect controller for me, only needs hall effect.
And it'll be super perfect.
It's just a Switch 1 Pro Controller but it has back buttons
is 8bitdo bad or something?
buttons need to be further away from the right joystick to be considered serviceable.
and an audio jack
Don't forget the headphone jack!
Chinese therefore yes.
Headphones Jack finally included.
NO HALL EFFECT
NO BUY
I'm pretty excited for it, one of the videos about the hands on mention the sticks feel different so here is hoping they actually invested on them, Pro is already my favorite controller of all time, if this ends up being the same but with extra buttons and headphone jack I'll be satisfied.
Honestly I'm already more than content with the Switch 1 Pro Controller. Sure the headphone jack is nice but Switch already has bluetooth audio
Bluetooth audio
Gross, glad the Switch 2 still has the headphone jack built in.
Gross
?
What's wrong with it?
latency
Not on Switch
I'm glad they got rid of the seam from the grips, but if they didn't fix the dpad it's trash.
I already told you, this has not been confirmed. It's just a rumour that they have hall effect
2025
Controller still releases without analog triggers
But where will my hand dirt gather without the seams?!
Get better headphones
No see through. No soul. No need for Chat button.
Switch 1 Pro Controller it is!
still that massive gap between the shoulder bumpers and triggers
purchase purchase
But then won't it feel slippery in sweaty gamer hands?
>Controller still releases without analog triggers
good
not having serious racers is... le good!
serious racers
What did xhe mean by this?
I did, they just don't use bluetooth :^)
like racing games, but without bing bing wahoo
Yes, sim garbage is a cancer
Oh.
Ew.
nooooo what do you mean I need skill to win?????? where's my blue shell??
Hope you like accelerating in F-Zero GX with the right analog stick, mongoloid
if you are so serious then why aren't you playing them with a wheel
1 to 2 tenths of a second, literally unplayable for anything remotely competitive
I should be able to hear my opponent shoot before I get hit by the bullets in Splatoon if I want to be able to dodge them. Hearing them shoot after I get hit defeats the purpose of auditive feedback.
Price is shit
Corsair is patent squatting grip buttons and users pay extra to subsidize the contract cost
*Uses old Gamecube controller boughted 10 years ago*
Nothin personel.
all my current controllers are compatible with the new console
no need to spend more money on shit i don't need
feel free to waste your money on this and the digital manual, i'm good
They better have fixed how shitty that D-Pad was.
Switch 2 Pro Controller is worthless for an entire subset of games
This is good
?
Do I need a NSO subscription to use the headphone jack?
The innovator has become the imitator. Sad.
I'm interested in Fast Fusion, looks like a cool Wipeout clone.
It's just $5 a month stop crying.
mmmmno
No thoughts, head empty.
The first one didn't have a cum button
Is the PS one $5 a month? Rough.
And I thought the NSO at $20 per year was barely passable...
Superior controller.
Wow! Only 10 years behind Xbox!
What is Xbox? Never heard of it.
I need to know from people who have got their hands on it if the D-Pad is as bad as the Switch Pro. The fact holding left or right can sometimes register as down is fucking retarded. You needed tape to fix it.
You wouldn't hear about anything outside of your Apple tier ecosystem.
Only 20 years behind Xbox!
FTFY
Where's the halo?
behind
It's the opposite
Everyone is going away from jacks and based Nintendo is bringing it back
Halo is not a Nintendo property silly.
serious racer
controller
sometimes you just want to lie in the sofa and play
new rumble, extra grip buttons, headphone jack, and non drifting shit joysticks. unknown about d pad
The back buttons excite me.
what do you mean I need to race 200 laps just to unlock the 30th alternate skin for a fucking Nissan Micra
please tell me they didn't fuck up the dpad this time
People have been playing games at Switch 2 events with the Pro controller, so someone has to know if it's better or not by now.
Definitive controller is here, if the battery life is comparable to v1
i thought the event games were just dk and mk both are games where the dpad isn't used
I've seen a few videos and just one of them mentioned the dpad but that unfortunately there weren't any games to really test it, don't know if they have SF6 on the show floor and if they do we will have to wait for reactions when it is open to the public
Will Nintendo get with three generations ago and do analog triggers this time? They kind of have to if they're introducing GC games on NSO, right?
it does have hall effect
Cheap. Flimsy. Nintenbabby slurpers will gobble it up.
it has hall effect sticks unlike the dogshit controllers of xbox and sony
it has hall effect sticks
does it?
yes. Switch's 2 Joycon also have Hall effect
nintendo.com
That's for the mic only.
The first one didn't have a button that requires additional money to function
No word on anything else or if the sticks are hall-effect or not though,
I guarantee if it had it they would have proudly said so. Unless you believe they would be too proud to say so because otherwise they would basically be admitting that they fucked up with the Switch 1 sticks.
So it's speculated
If Nintendo would fucking just bring back analogue triggers we might not need to rely on the Gamecube controller every single generation for the past 20 years
Buy an 8-Bit Do when it goes on sale for like $20
Its higher quality than the kids meal toy plastic nintendo has been making their controllers out of for the last decade
To be fair they can't really say, "yeah we change the technology used because it fucking sucked" since it would be admitting selling defective products and would get sued but all we know so far:
VGC asked Nintendo if it had taken measures to protect Switch 2 from Joy-Con drift, and a spokesperson replied: "The control sticks for joy-con 2 controllers have been redesigned and have improved in areas such as durability."
Speaking during a developer roundtable event attended by Eurogamer, Nintendo Switch 2 hardware design lead Tetsuya Sasaki also responded to questions about how it had improved Joy-Cons following years of complaints about drifting, but did not say if it was fixed.
"As you may have witnessed and felt, the new Joy-Con 2 controllers for the Nintendo Switch 2 have really been designed from the ground up, from scratch, to have bigger movement and smoother movement," Sasaki said, without going into further detail.
new rumble
Lol, barely any developers even utilized HD rumble on the OG Switch.
Zelda didn't use it at all.
the buttons on the back of the controller are nice but it won't even come close to the ps5 controller. best controller I ever used
too many buttons
too many LEDs
no hall effect joysticks
too expensive
chinks are putting hall effect sticks in their 20 dollar controllers
Nintendo somehow cant afford that
Xbox doesn't even have gyro or a rechargeable battery you fucking nigger retard
They're only going to release this in purple aren't they? God damn it. I want black or orange.
Enter
I expected something better and different besides "Pro Controller but with Audio Jack"
It's soulless
don't forget the back buttons
They kind of have to if they're introducing GC games on NSO, right?
You WILL play F-Zero GX with digital triggers and YOU will be happy
