yes, sns is a simple weapon about killing the monster with a thousand cuts while being free to reposition or block at any time, in wilds especially perfect blocks are really overpowered so abuse that

Males are aggressive during the mating season. All Mizutsunes fought (and by proxy seen) are male. We have not seen a female Mizutsune in the franchise yet.

The gimmick of the fight is that you need to pick up the elemental slinger ammo in the arena and periodically fire them into the crystals the boss spawns, especially after it does the long winded slam attack that spawns crystals on top of it's arm wings or face because they explode for around 200 damage each and the explosions can chain to nearby crystals so you can get a chunky 500+ damage for free.
Whenever it does the big arena wide crystal spawn immediately explode them with the elemental slinger to prevent the follow up full arena fire breath while also damaging Zoh Shia if it's near the crystal when you explode them.

0, guarding is broken in this game. you don't even have to guard the right way manually, just locking onto the monster does it for you.

if you mean the charge counter double thrust it's probably about as tight as a morph to axe guard point, maybe half a second
the different follow-ups you are getting are probably from waiting too long and getting a normal guard
