Switch 2 supports gamecube games

switch 2 supports gamecube games

but not wii games

despite being almost the same hardware

despite having dual gyro input and pointer input

steam deck lays a big STEAMER on this garbage

IMG_9713.png - 3840x2160, 1.95M

the steam deck is garbage though

they'll probably release Wii games for virtual console in like 2027 or some shit. Either way who gives a shit if you want to play any Nintendo game you can do so for free on emulators

if you want to play any Nintendo game you can do so for free on emulators

Not on Nintendo’s emulators. Then you need to -subscribe-

gee it's almost like they could just release it at an arbitrary later date the same way they do with all the other legacy shit you fucking retard

Looking forward to that controller being scalped to shit
You thought the N64 one was bad, oh boy

no analog triggers

straight into the fucking trash

DROP THE PRICE

Given all of the Wii games that have gotten remasters at this point I could see Wii NSO just being the following;

-Galaxy 1+2
-Warioware Smooth Moves
-Super Paper Mario
-Link's Crossbow Training
-Punch-Out
-Kirby's Epic Yarn

And virtually nothing from third parties. Maybe something like Zack & Wiki from Capcom?

GameCube NSO is going to be pretty limited too since quite a few of those already have remasters available on the Switch ecosystem. People better not be expecting Prime, TTYD or the Pikmin games.

Stop with the anti-semitism.

Wii game file sizes can go as high as 4gb fyi

So even just 10 games means 40gb

I feel like they'll just do individual re-releases desu

I'd rather have them spend their money to make remakes, reboots, and sequels to various wii exclusives instead. If they seriously want to prop up their new platform, they need to go guns blazing on development and support for it.

kek

how have they still not given people the option to turn this shit off

but not Wii

Based. Most Wii games suck ass, and I don't want them to slow down the releases from the other apps. GBA collection is still a deserted wasteland.

Is steam decks' only selling point how many Nintendo games it can play?

smash and xenoblade are dual layer games that go up to 7gb last i checked

It looks like complete shit

zeldo.jpg - 1920x1080, 1.52M

straight into the fucking trash

where it says sp?

looks good to me

file.png - 870x1162, 1.99M

but the steam deck can't play all the gamecube games let alone wii.

Lol modern Nintendo man

You can't post that that's illegal

Yes. And it can't play a lot properly.

what's wrong?

That left bumper

Even the knockoffs get the left bumper button correctly mirrored. How do you mess up this bad?

Anon, you know that the GC controller didn't have a left Z button, right?

is this how we get Twilight Princess on switch?

one purchase per account

so what happens when the stick drift kicks in several months later?

She will not trick me into buying her game again

Nintendo is fucking control freaks. They get a sick twist from it.

Refuse to put analog triggers into the Joy-Con/pro controller

Force users to buy this in order to play GC games that need them

sasuga

Tendies deserve it. Shits hilarious. It'll be like $90 too.

Yes. That doesn't excuse the fact that all they had to do was mirror the right side. This is just lazy design.

yes they did this specifically to get people to fuck off about asking for F-Zero, and Wind Waker as well they have no reason to touch any of those games now

Or they valued keeping the original appearance while still allowing for the new button

I mean you don't have to buy it. I'm sure as shit not buying it either

are oleds more prone to burnin than plasmas? because I been gaming on the same panasonic plasma since 2007 with zero burnin, and there was a period of my life where all that thing displayed for years on end, for like 8-12 hours a day, was the Oblivion hud, followed by the FO3 hud, followed by the New Vegas hud, followed by Skyrim

yeah oleds are known for their burn in risk

They're not going to include that right away. They're going to wait until Year 3 or 4 to announce Wii Classics so they have something HYYYYYYYYPEEEEEEEEEEEE to announce.

pretty much

Cope post

just emulate
even my shit laptop can play wii/gamecube games

Be patient, we just got GameCube goddamn

At the absolute very least, if I can't get ahold of a Switch 2, I will probably paypig for NSO and a Gamecube controller. I've wanted a wireless modern or pseudo-modern Gamecube controller for ages and, alarmingly, all of the NSO controllers are great quality.

please remake this utter abomination and not the pro version

wii.jpg - 856x642, 64.28K

why is burn in a thing?
many screens did not have this issue, now it feels like almost every screen can get burned

I still have this piece of shit

It oxidized like crazy for some reason. My wiimotes and nunchucks didn't but this motherfucker is piss yellow now

oled's light up each individual pixel instead of having a light illuminating the screen from the back like most monitors and lcd screens.

Switch 2 will likely be a lot easier to get than this controller at first. If you're getting NSO just for it I'd hold off til they're in better stock, or just pay a bit extra for a scalped one. My N64 controller off ebay cost about as much as the MSRP+subscription.

That disclaimer is most likely for ordering from the Nintendo store, not actually locking one controller to one system. Even in some insane reality where they did do that, the GC adapter is compatible with the Switch 2 so I imagine it'll be compatibility. It's also not hard to fix stick drift on a GC controller and there's a million GC controller modders across the globe because of Melee

that seems like a huge downgrade
probably more expensive to make too

Yeah given it's a Gamecube controller availability might actually be a concern. I did end up just waiting out the N64 batches to pick one up, glad I did too because I was amazed they actually didn't touch the analog stick whatsoever, it's the same thing going on in there as an original except for a shitty lube job to try and stave off bowl grinding.

everyone I knew had cheeto sticks on their nunchucks and classic controllers

well when it comes to blacks the pixel doesn't illuminate at all leading to 0 light bleed. It's really a night and day difference.

so I imagine it'll be compatible with NSO too*

not realizing they are saving Wii games for later to encourage subscriptions when they die down midway through the Switch 2's lifetime

Think.

Yeah I just used super lube on mine. Apparently it's still susceptible to drift but I barely use it enough for that to happen.

Yeah it'll drift eventually from physical degradation same as an original controller. Good news though is that it's pretty damn cheap to get your hands on replacement parts that are compatible since they use the exact same stick box. store.kitsch-bent.com/collections/replacement-parts

The O in OLED is for Organic. Simply put, organic material simply isn't as durable as synthetic stuff.

Though anti-burn in tech for OLED has come a long way, it's still more common than LED burn in.

I think the gear set is slightly different, but I didn't try putting an original one in.

That'll be $399 + tip, gaijin

People didn't used to leave their screens on for so long.

open that sucker up and solder a new stick in. If you're in this hobby you should know how to do that much. It will save you a lot of money and is pretty easy. Even starting from 0 and buying a new soldering machine and precision screw driver set you'll still be further ahead than buying new.
