On Donkey Kong specific groups they dislike it more, and here there seems to be a ton of dislike.
As much as I like the Rare DK myself, it always felt out of place in the Mario universe.
I always felt (even if it's not true at all) that DKC was meant to be an alternate world not connected to Mario, or at least far in the future where Mario doesn't exist anymore, and that just be necessity and popularity it was fused with the main series. Creating a somewhat clashing art style and tone when DK was around.
This one fits much better in Mario universe imo, especially if they are done with DKC games.
