Make new gamecube controller

Make new gamecube controller

one job to mirror the Z button and make a nice controller

ad this abomination that'll be terrible to use

LMAO

nintendo moment

it's how it was meant to be played. purists are right in this one.

I'm more upset that switch2 doesn't have analog triggers, meaning you NEED to buy the new GC controller to properly play Gamecube games.

How bad is the latency for these NSO controllers?

home button

wireless

charge jack

1000% souless. They only need to reprint the wavebird with compatibility for newer tech/systems

meawhile at hori 6 years ago

Eww

I’m glad that they gave this controller a home button at least. If I’m remembering correctly, the N64 Switch controller did not have one.

They have really got cocky. Can't wait to see switch 2 fail

more than one button at the middle section

mfw

Fucking hate these third party controllers for shit like these

Can't wait to see switch 2 fail

gets a price cut like 3DS did

Becomes a success

Heh... can't wait either, I guess

soulless

Not 1:1 with the original

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I might have to buy one then.

No, this is beyond based. Keep it like the original. I'm going to buy Switch online just so I can buy one

where's the - button?

if they wanted to make a good controller le dpad would look like this

psone.jpg - 1200x1200, 109.03K

What games are going to use ZL?

why is it so dirty

It was removed

google image

Keep it like the original.

it has additional buttons and a USB-C port. It is nothing like the original, this is halfassed and should please nobody.

Anybody praising it for being "like the original" have moved the goalposts back already for the added ports/buttons

Do the SNES and NES Switch controllers have a home button too?

crammed

if you're gonna be a sonyfag at least choose the vita which has a 10/10 dpad instead of this filth

He's right; og dualshock dpad was great. No other sony dpad ever got close to it

ps2's dpad is superior

Sorry, in the spirit of the original. Depending on how much it is I might stick with my 20+ year old indigo controller, but I like the design a lot.

The gamecube controller is fucking dogshit, man. It's only used by smashfags and maaaybe mario kart.
Wii Classic is better, WiiU Pro is better, Xboner is better.

lol no. OG ps1 controller (pre dualshock) had actually solid d-pad that was almost clicky. It started being mushy squeky shit ever since they invented dualshock.

Nah GCN, 360, & ps3 were the last soulful controllers across the board

No, it isn't.

DS2 and onwards had cutting cost making the quality of the product suffering from it

There will be riots if they don't let us use the GC adapter for real GC controllers.

I didn't even think about this. Good thing I'm an adapter with original controllers chad.

WiiU Pro

Why oh why did they get rid of this layout for the pro controller, the joycons I get because they wanted you to be able to play together but where have the symmetrical controllers gone

It's compatible.

It isn't in the spirit.
The button is already added, your fingers will always feel the extra texture of the cuck trigger, and the button will feel awful to anybody actually trying to use it.

At that point you might as well just import an OG GC Controller from Japan and get a converter.

ps3

soulful

A fucking hideous boomerang that nobody got and a revision that only was wireless with tacked gimmick that nobody really used wasn't soulful at all. 360's controller was miles better; that one at least brought new stuff to controllers like the triggers

you are like a baby
i like the controller but i have no idea what this bullshit is for

That only confirms it still works as it should ie. in Smash Bros Ultimate.

Does this thing have click triggers? Do we know?

i dont know about clicky but the psone one, such as in the picture, with the lighter/bluer colours, was pretty "thick"

so i dont know if you boast about predualshock dpad for how thick it was, or the opposite, a lighter easier "click"?

I still use my Wii u pro controller. Only thing bad about it is the glossy finish

Thanks to the indians I would never consider this brand ever again kek.

third party controller

godawful design

You're not proving me wrong in the slightest if that's your goal

There's no * that implies it's limited to anything so I don't know why you would think that

I see what you mean, people would have to ask for that functionality in a patch note or something if it isn't already there.

Does this actually fit a rumble pack? I assume rumble is built into the controller, but it would be a nice bonus interaction with some old physical bits.

That only confirms it still works as it should

I mean, yeah. As far as the Switch is concerned, it's just a USB controller that's missing buttons. There's no reason it shouldn't work. The only thing we'll have to wait and see is if the analog shoulders are properly supported.

It has rumble built in. The port doesn't actually work, so you can't use it for Pokemon Stadium annoyingly.

Game-SAAAAR

kek

Smash and Mario Sunshine HD were specifically patched to support the GC adapter properly, so the NSO GC emulator will need to be too.
If they just keep the generic "default" USB mode the buttons will be mapped wrong.

I can't think of a good gamecube game that used the analog triggers at its fullest.

Z is the select button on the gamecube

Sunshine is the obvious answer, but MGS Twin Snakes had a neat feature to quick swap items with a tap, or open the menu with the click.

Of these launch games, it's pretty essential for proper control in F-Zero.

smash bros had the shielding using the pressure sensibility

F-Zero turning

c'mon now

It's wild how we went from gamecube autism about controllers having too many buttons and they just hamstrung it in ways that never mattered, then to the switch 2 which now has 5 menu buttons, then that same company comes back to troll with this.

Snoys are really desperate to make up stuff to complain about

Burnout 1

I'm glad GC controllers are still relevant again. I remember during the late Brawl era I had to go buy those cheap knock odds that would stop working after a month. I'm also glad they added the USB port like the pro controller. Leave it to Nintendo for always forgetting basic shit to their electronics

It gets used

No one's mentioned it costs $80 yet either.

I never tried this product but I can guarantee you the cheap shit parts they used to make it with feel nothing like the Godly originals

Being exclusive to the Nintendo store is the worst thing about those controllers because it means I can't get it on my third world country

The story of Dualshock controllers in a nutshell

smash bros... our jump-canceled grabs... GONE

Resident Evil 2 and 3 had a control type where you hold the trigger to move faster or slower, to me it was the best way to play.

I bet this thing cant even handle F-Zero X

It's only going to be usable for a select few games anyway. Everyone is going to try to play modern games with it and realize how retarded the button layout is.

not subtracted

ONE FUCKING JOB, CARLOS

I just want the Battle Pad but with the official GC controller's build quality/weight dammit

51b9kMp20sL.jpg - 500x387, 35.94K

what would you even use it for

How?

Did anyone else tried to shove the handle for the GC controller up their ass as a kid?

what

I laughed when they said that the gamecube controller and gamecube games are exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2. I guess that means I can't play my gamecube games with my gamecube controller anymore unless I buy a switch 2. Lol.

No.The NES only has an L and R button and the SNES only has an LZ and RZ
The NES and SNES apps have custom mappings for the controllers so the respective left buttons can do captures and the right buttons do home (And you can use the NES L and R to exit to the menu when normally that is ZL+ZR), but those only work in those apps.

Just buy the pro controllers instead.

Oh okay, thanks. Knowing that Switch 2 will support NSO makes me want to pick up these controllers since I would probably get a lot of use out of them. Do you think that they are good?

That's what the wiimote is for
it even had a condom so that your faggot ass doesn't get AIDS

That's fine.
The real questions are:

Gyro?

Clickable Sticks?

Analog triggers?

If yes, then there is no reason to get a 'pro' controller.

They feel pretty accurate although Nintendo being cute with the nes controllers and giving them joy con rails rather than a usb c port like all other controllers will make it weird when it comes to charging them.
On the other side, theres a quirky controller mapping for having both controllers docked to it

IMG_7251.jpg - 1280x720, 92.91K

yeah the round little handle on the game cube controller, felt funny as a kid.

im not a gay though, but I'm just asking if anyone put the GC controller handle in their ass as a kid too.

Because you need to be constantly wiggling with the shoulder buttons and exploiting the slide mechanics to win in F-Zero's story mode or any of the higher difficulties, because it's one of those games where the devs were the beta testers and they were absolutely cracked out

megacock.jpg - 1332x540, 237.65K

Can't you just full press on and off?

The SNES and N64 controllers are seeming like a must buy, I don’t like that you can only get the NES controllers in a two pack. I would only use one of them.

no rumble

buttons instead of triggers, making the L and R buttons useless

terrible build quality, C-button will start fucking up after a relatively short while

It’s a holdover from how the famicom had different controllers.
The microphone even works on the 2 joycon and will do what it did on the small handful of games that supported it on the Japanese app.

IMG_7253.jpg - 1066x1242, 163.47K

That makes sense. I’m surprised that these retro controllers are still in stock, at least the NOA versions.

FACT
The worst parts of the GC controller are the triggers. Nintendo should replace those shitty triggs with the Switch pro or just redo them entirely.
L+R feel awful to use and the shitty Z is even worse.

As long as it has good analog triggers, I think it should be a solid controller for GC emulation, and that’s all I would really need it for. I’m really hoping this thing doesn’t suck.

buttons instead of triggers, making the L and R buttons useless

You shame them for being buttons then instantly say them being buttons ruined the previous buttons
are you ?

This wouldn't be a problem if some GameCube games, the very ones that they make the controller for, rely on the pressure sensitivity.

The whole controller is shit, D-pad is too small and hard to press, C stick is just weird, the layout and shape of ABXY buttons is fucking criminal. The Analog stick is not as sensitive as the N64 one.

Everything about it is fucking retarded.

They designed it to play Mario sunshine
That’s why it’s got the pressure; for variable water spraying

IMG_7254.jpg - 1024x872, 132.33K

Power A had a GameCube contoller for Switch that did exactly this. No clue why Nintendo doesn't.

Anon, wireless controllers haven't had issues since the wii days on all consoles, the fuck you're doing

No, absolutely not. DS2 dpads were too recessed compared to the DS1's. Very bad for switching between diagonals. They also wore out faster, making the recession a problem for registering inputs.

4/10 dpad
2/10 dpad
7/10 dpad

why the actual fuck did they put the home button and screenshot button back there

This is so they can make a new and improved version 2 or 3 years from now that you absolutely WILL buy and WILL praise Nintendo for.

Fucking FINALLY someone else who isn't insane and retarded. Travel is awful and that click at the bottom is just an absolute abomination. I'm convinced the Gamecube is the reason Nintendo never made analog triggers again because of how badly they fucked them up the first time.

accurate

What does the C button stand for?

You will never be a real GC controller. You have no true analogue. You have no sub-stick membrane.

You have no sub-stick membrane.

What is that, I want to be a cool hardware nerd too

Hope.

I bought a PowerA controller for the Switch since it was on sale and for some fucking unknown reason they swapped the swapped the order of the center buttons so where the Plus button would normally be is the Home button instead and I've been fucking pressing the home button so many times on accident that I just stopped using it all together

does this have rumble? I vaguely remember the last time they released the gamecube controller for smash it didn't have rumble because of a patent troll
