Would you still buy it?

would you still buy it?

If it was on SALE for 657.99 then I would buy it.
But if it was REGULAR price for 449 I would never buy it.

The price doesn't matter It could be 1k and people would still buy it. What matters is if it has games when it releases, and it does

The PS3 has games when it released and people still complained about the price

It's a handheld that does 4k/120fps and plays the best games in the world like Mario and Pokemon. Honestly, Nintendo are giving us a bargain at any price.

PS3

games

Talladega Nights is not a video game.

I remember Resistance having some hype but none of these really seem like system movers.

Probably, honestly. I've wanted a Switch 2 for ages, and this one at least would come with the guarantee of fucking games that aren't on PC (emulatortards begone, I already know about Switch emulation, shader cache building is annoying), unlike my PS5 I bought at launch and then it just sat forever.

Yes.

genji

kek I remember that E3 showcase

Highest I would be willing to go before no longer buying it is $849 personally

Wii U had games when it came out.

wasn't nintendo making record breaking profits already? why do they need to do this? can't they increase profitability by pursuing more movies and theme parks, or by trying to capture a larger share of the 3rd party market? Why do they have to tax their existing fans more?

I seem to remember more stuff, weren't Lair and Heavenly Blade launch titles?
I really liked the PS2 game but never got around to checking out the sequel on PS3, was it any good?

sure, if it had games

you can just download preloaded shader caches, I haven't tried the newer stuff like citron though since switch has no games that interest me

Why not? They'll buy it. They'd be retarded not to.

My issue isn't the price of the console on itself, but no because of the price of the games. I already refuse to pay 70$ unless it's on a scale of Baldurs Gate 3 or RDR2 which I know Nintendo won't match.

And I say this as the biggest Nintendo fan who bought almost all first party games for the Switch 1.

giphy-2.gif - 470x358, 2.71M

$80-90 is fair. The rest of the industry just hasn't caught up yet. Very soon all games on all platforms will be that price with some even going over $100 after gta6 releases.
Don't blame nintendo. Blame inflation

i will buy 9070xt to emulate xenoblade 4

Holy based!

My issue isn't the price of the console on itself

Then your no better than people who accept the higher prices of the games.

If they don't buy it the entire company could collapse.

Nintendo made more money during the switch generation than the rest of their history combined. This is all while charging $300 for their console and $60 for games.

Why did we settle on $657 for the new price??

I decide what is fair as the buyer, I don't need corporate shills deciding what is right for me.

Mental math.

Sure, but they will buy it

The baitpost price will gradually rise higher.

I think he meant the entire switch 1 library in which case yes the ps3 also had games...just not ps3 games.

OP isn't asking what other people would do, mother fucker. Would YOU buy it, faggot, or are you saving the cash for male prostitutes?

They probably have a big enough war chest to just sit out the next console generation if they want

If they actually did this Switch 2 would be bigger shitshow than the Wii U was. Kind of heading there already desu.

Because that's pretty close to what it might be with the tariffs. Knowing Nintendo, they are bound to use the opportunity to juice just a wee bit extra out. Tariffs will probably add $150. So 450+150 makes $600 then an additional $57 because that sounds like about how much further it can be pushed.
Thus we arrive at the magic number that people will still be willing to pay while getting an additional $57 on each switch: $657.

If they actually did this

This is literally just the pre-tariff price tag plus the Vietnam tariffs

By the way there's also auto tariffs and commodity tariffs already in effect not accounted for, so it's likely way higher than that

Hahahahahahaha

i wasn't going to buy it at all

Scalpers are going to buy them out and sell for double anyways. Might as well prepare yourself for this reality

American Tendies were already prepared to pay $110 more than Japan before the tariffs because they think it's great they get to subsidize the console being a success in Japan. Japan is the best. Let's give Japan even more.

If that were the price for the Mario Kart bundle, sure fuck it. I'm not a poorfag anymore.

Sure but this will go over terribly for Nintendo. No one outside of diehards is going to pay this much. Sure the hardcore tendies will buy out initial shipments or whatever but random normie isn't gonna go justifying that "umm this ackshually okay because of tarriffs", they're just not gonna buy it.
At the end of the day Nintendo's increased costs isn't the customer's problem, it's Nintendo's.

Sure, but they don't have a big enough war chest to prevent a hostile take over if they drop to wii u era valuations again.

I'm not a poorfag anymore.

you will be again with that sort if mindset.

let me guess
you are a trumpet?

Random normies are not really the target audience for the switch. It's reddit soys with no kids and a lot of money and hardcore tendies.
This is why everything Nintendo does is a "fuck you" now. They've made a huge risky pivot, and nobody knows if it will pay off. But if it does they're going to be swimming in it.

This. It's just the precursor to making everything else more expensive. Buying things at a premium price should be the exception not the rule.

Why would you even assume what my politics are based on that?
I'm not even american you retarded schizo.

Yes. Used to live in Australia and was paying way more for games. I remember they trying to charge $120 AUD for PS3 games when AUD was 1:1 with USD. And I make a lot more money now.

where is the extra-tip button?

I am brazilian and I paid $140(280 BRL) for PS3 games, ama

This is how apple became the biggest company in the world. Nintendo is going for it now too

I recall story about the PS3 costing $3000 USD in Brazil and how it was cheaper to fly to US to get one.

if the switch 2 can be modded day 1 I'll buy it. if not I'll wait.

They can't release it at that price. They will have to absorb the cost of the tariffs. If they try to pass it on to the customer, it's only good to cause less people to buy it. People were already apprehensive about $450, every single cent they charge over it is going to lose them a percent a of customers.

Don't go thinking scalpers are going to buy them at PS5 Pro prices either. The smarter play for them is to buy them up in Canada or Mexico and sell them to the US at the American retail price (+$200 probably).

post your best cope screenshots

It could be $99 I won't buy a Nintendo system after playing Mario Wonder.
The Switch killed Nintendo for me, it just kept getting worse with every release culminating in Mario Wonder

fuck no the ideal price for me is 400 for the console and 60 for the games. personally I would love for them to just have them be 40 but we can't have everything we want

How many days do I have to wait to buy the switch then?

day 1 switches can be modded tho

Buy an ad

that makes no sense at all. no company would pick "57" for the end of their price. using your math they'd go for 649.99.

if the tariffs were coming here, the most id pay is probably £550 ($715), luckily they're not

God bless you thinking mega corporations won't make everyone across the globe burden the cost of the tariffs even outside of the US.

dont think so pal

They can't raise the price of an already pre-ordered item. There are guarantees to protect from that kind of shit.

The US is gonna eat shit as it should.

I also pre-ordered extra con 2's and the piranha plant camera

seethe.png - 549x500, 806.07K

My hope is that they cancel the release in america, or that trump releases an executive order banning nintendo from america for price gauging.

I will buy it and not use it until there is a hack available. I will keep it in the lowest firmware

Never touched nintenbrotio since high school
No reason to now

Unless Nintendo pays back the retailers that have already reserved stock, it's too late to cancel it.

I could see a delay of the US launch happening easily at this point though.

$90 for a game key

lmao

You can use it, just don't connect it to the internet

You failed and got raped, Eric.

Yuzu 2 free thoughbeit

You either buy digital or a "physical game" that is just a game key

The retailers haven't paid nintendo anything yet because there is no final msrp.

I paid 700 dollars for an oled steamdeck

Source is a screenshot of a text

HAHAHHAHHAHA

And how did that make you feel?

Great!
I'm trans btw

I'll only buy a Switch 2 if it has piracy. I have a gaming PC, so 3rd party shit doesn't interest me. I had 0 interest for anything shown at that Direct.

The first few shipments will sell out easily, because of die hard fans and scalpers. The real challenge for Nintendo will be if they can keep that momentum. They need to show more games to keep up the momentum.

No

consoomers being mocked only to edit images like this is fucking hilarious, get a grip you absolute NPC

It's their problem either way. They're not going to take an enormous loss on every unit sold just to increase the install base. Either they release it with an increased price, or they wait for the president to stop being a retard before releasing it.

What games do they have in 2025 besides Mario Kart, Dong, and last gen ports, all $80?

The would just end up not releasing it ever in the second case.

Nintendo made more money during the switch generation than the rest of their history combined.

I seriously doubt that. The Wii alone was a license to print money.

It's going to be 700

I'm perfectly content with my current switch. They'd have to release a really epic game that I must have to make me want to upgrade. And Mario Cart aint it.

He buys 2D mario slop

lmaoooooooooo

You think Trump actually cares about this? Lol
It's a tax on the American people. It's not about bringing muh jobs to America or getting a "fair deal."

The true unemployment rate is nearly 30%. We gotta get people working.

Taiwan is in the middle of bending the knee to Trump

Mhm. I'm sure those factories will all be erected within the next four years and then the next president won't repeal all of the tariffs right away.
This right here should tell you that's not their motivation. It is a tax on the American people for the next four years.
