Are you retarded? Again, not the focus, the online elements in their games is an additional element that augments the single player experience. If you like that specific element more than the actual meat of the game then fine, you can like what you want, but it's not the focus.
They deliberately said that these two are designed to be multiplayer games. I played the Nightreign network test and it's nothing like any of their previous action RPGs. No exploration, adventure, or anything. I could be misunderstanding Duskbloods but everything I've seen points to it being nothing like their previous games.

pvp in elden ring is opt in. Pvpve means pvp as a core feature, with pve elements.
Hunt showdown and tarkov are pvpve, dark and darker is pvpve, mecha break has a pvpve extraction mode.
Pvpve is not the same thing as a primarily pve game with optional pvp integration.

I'm trying to cope by telling myself this is just a temporary phase because they're now in a weird company growth phase and badly need to reinvent themselves and Miyazaki badly needs to train and trust successors. I just don't understand why they'd announce two games like this in less than a year when this isn't what the fanbase wants from them at all. Pandering to the lowest common denominator, shamelessly chasing garbage trends, cheapening their past works. This reeks of Kadokawa meddling and it could be very hard for them to recover from this stink.

But on the flipside, both projects are made with leaner teams, shorter deadlines and smaller budgets with recycled assets, while they're developing the "next big game" in the background. Perhaps it's understandable that after 15 years of Souls and 5 years of Elden Ring open world scale, they wanted to do something short and simple. Also I have to hope that these will flop and they'll realize what a bad idea it was.

The truth is that people love Fromsoft games and no matter how much you spam the opposite it won't change the reality that From software is beloved because they make great games. Nothing you spam will change that.
