what do you think he thinks of video games now?
What do you think he thinks of video games now?
He 100% doesn't give a shit about them. He might occasionally play the simplest of mobile games.
The exact same things he thought in 1990.
These people will perpetually be disappointed with whatever tech or game design is going on in the current video game space.
They are the same as the people crying about shit like Ray Tracing right now
i don't get why he's bragging about a creditfeed clear of smassh tv.
he might even be dead for all we know
I pretty much only play Skyrim with coom mods
He most likely is one of those guys with a garage full of arcade cabinets and that hasn't looked at or touched a game past 1990 except on occasion when his kid got one or somethign
Considering he was on usenet in 1990 and thus probably some sort of Science or Tech major he would have the money for it
complaining about movies in 1992
what would he think of today's games?
We got a badass here with a save state.
He loves open world games now
He would just say “I told you so” and point back to his original statement.
he's probably dead
The dude is 56 now, I don't think he cares about vidya that much.
he's right you know
Now it's $3000 for the GPU alone.
Ohhhhhhh
I did my math wrong
1969 not 1979
Lol no wonder I couldn't find him
Then yeah he really is dead and like I said he was a network system engineer which is why he was on usenet at the time

Rest in peace OG gamer
Damn poor fella, he was only 37.
where was this posted way back in fucking 1990? did the internet even exist back then?
I love how things never change at heart just like those idiots think a pc is only for gaming.
where was this posted way back in fucking 1990?
usenet
did the internet even exist back then?
internet has existed since 1983, and before that arpanet existed since 1969
speaking of things never changing...
normalfags ruined the internet long the iphone existed.
usenet. they argued about the same shit we do now, except with older games.
Holy based
they argued about the same shit we do now, except with older games
this
There seriously is a huge demarcation line between Usenet posts pre 1994 and post 1994
Anon Babble wishes it had an actual downfall like this, despite what people wish, there is really no difference between post quality now and post quality in 2004, and is in a lot of ways better.
Topics are just a bit different
hottest thing since zelda's first period
What did he mean by this?
Rip
is that when the eternal September thing happened?
sega fan is a fucking weirdo retard
Nothing changes, kek
it's obvious they rely on the hardware available and not their own creativity
He might have enjoyed the 1997-2004 era if he knew where to look.
Nintendo is a piece of right wing garbage
politics being randomly brought up has been a thing since 1989
bros...
kek i used to know this fat kid in school back in the late 90s who thought that nintendo would take over the world with the n64 and pc games like half life were for morons. all he ever used to do was talk about turok and if you ever tried to talk about anything else he'd just say "WELL TUROK IS BETTER"
big surprise he turned out to be a massive irl homo
no one has posted it yet
fine, I'll do it myself
i feel like the old internet dying killed alot of criticism of games that people on here worship.
Based hustler gotta hustle
ironically most of the lore people on here jerk morrowind over came from redguard.
Good bait you almost got me.
I've always wondered about things like this. Sure we view things like ALTTP, Final Fantasy 4, Mario World etc. as classics nowadays but to a certain subset of NES fans, they must have been quite disappointing and casualized compared to what came before. It's interesting to think about.
i feel like the old internet dying killed alot of criticism of games that people on here worship.
Probably, but much of the criticisms are, just as many criticisms for modern games are, just retarded. At least now the noise is gone due to casual fans of older games moving on. Now the only opinions are either from people worth having an opinion, or people who grew up with the games.
1990 was only 15 years ago anon. What's the big deal?
John Holmes
If you get that reference you belong here
Hold off to the end of the year
Just like last time? Worked like a charm! Release date: September 20, 1996
Pleasure Dome
tee hee
He died of the covid vaxx. Took the booster, died 12 days later, got declared as a covid death.
he isn't a jagchad
It's going to have the ENTIRE MARKET to itself, success is guaranteed.
I wonder if usenet posters saw Todd as a sort of digital cryptid.
he does other things on his gaming pc than game
In this case youre the chump. Even just having adobe installed increases system latency.
They were. Mario World being worse than SMB3 in particular was an extremely common opinion.
God I wonder if people will be laughing at that Anon Babble post about how the switch will fail in another 22 years
The excuse uses to be that you could do video editing with the top of the line cards. Now that's not so much the case.
This was my personal experience and opinion. But I'm a zoomer who played them on emulator of course.
Not bait. The faggots crying about shit like Path Tracing or maxed out Ray Tracing not running on their 1080TI's are the same types of people who, if we were in the PS2 era, would cry about unnecessarily high poly models, or if we were in the PS3 area, crying about the new shaders and shadowmapping tech and stating that PS2 graphics were all we needed.
Nineteen fucking NINTY?
There were multiple lines. I’d say the advent of Something Awful marked the next collapse.
Think about these pioneer weebs. I wonder if they grew out of it, or if they are still weebs in their 50s. It's interesting to read their difficulties in acquiring media back then. Naming importers that are long gone.
this is from some animecon from the 80s
Most did, some didn't
One guy I looked up who was talking about dirty pair and other anime in the 80s on Usenet, was still showing off his newly acquired dirty pair calendar prints on Twitter
this was in 2015 I dont remember his name and account though, I might have posted it in the thread on Anon Babble that I looked it up in though
I think that most don't age with the medium though, even on Anon Babble a lot of people are just stuck in the mid 00's to mid 10's in terms of what they discuss and like
Anon Babble wishes it had an actual downfall like this, despite what people wish, there is really no difference between post quality now and post quality in 2004, and is in a lot of ways better.
bullshit
this thread (pictured) would go like this nowadays:
tr00ns dress like this irl
TRUMP TARIFFS LOL
[some esl pajeet shit]
BLACKED
lord of the rings movie released 50 years ago
orcs commit 90% of the crimes but only make up 12% of the population
join the 41%
CHUDS BTFO
The picture you posted is a bunch of failed empty normalfags shaming someone with an actual hobby. So same shit really.
I remember going on forums and talking about classic SNES games and boomers would always tell me SNES games weren't retro.
Yep those were the days
It's the same mindlessand witless humor for 13 year olds
Like I said the topics are merely different
