Nintendo has for generations sold polished games like Mario Kart and Donkey Kong that are complete day 1 which doesn't have a lot of monetization venues beyond the box sale, unlike many other games these days that managed to keep prices at $60/70 but further monetize the game through DLC, gacha, lvl increases, MTX and special editions, pay early to play early etc. I don't think they will face any boycott and any lost consumers will be offset by the higher revenue per customer. Netflix has been hiking their prices over the years, having basically doubled the sub fee over the past 12 years, and yet they have more subscribers than ever. Games going from $60 to $70/80 in that same time period + another decade is far less big of a jump than people seem to think
