You have to understand that the only way franchises get romhacks/mods is if the fans are so numeros they start making their own projects (Pokemon) or if they are autstic enough to start their own projects (Total War, Sonic).

i've seen those sprites, they're very cute! i also like the extra details on them that i had a hard time conveying myself (i.e. the fur on her face, the tightness of the clothes)
i don't think i'll be adding them officially (it's not a full sheet anyway), but it's made me consider tweaking my own spritework. if it comes to that i'll update the original hack as well.

It made a VN that probably treated the topic better than AAA corps somehow. And it was full of terrible jokes kek.

i wanted to give that a try after someone else mentioned it, i can say it's graphically possible at least. i'd have to settle for a normal moot hitbox, but blob moot does that too and nobody seemed to mind so that's probably a non-issue. i just don't have an idea yet for actually making it happen, maybe a red P-balloon or a bigger steam pipe?

you could go two ways with it.
if you want it to be a regular gameplay mechanic, you could have a different colored steam pipe that inflates the player more, with a little message block next to it saying it’s higher pressure or something. could also work with your red p-balloon idea.
if you want to make it a special thing, you could have it happen during a boss fight (maybe even the final boss, make blimp moot the new blob moot), or in a cutscene (tho it would be better to have blimp moot playable imo), or in a dedicated level (or multiple) that would be like obstacle courses where moot gets inflated with no time limit.

i love how talented the SMW hacking community is but most of the cool stuff is saved for kaizo hacks i am too much of a skillet to play

New Super Mario World 2: Around the World is one of the best hacks that fits with vanilla SMW as well as adding its own gimmicks that don't feel out of place. Every other hack seems to go too far into shit that clashes with vanilla SMW or barely adds anything interesting.

I have nothing against kaizo hacks but it still baffles me how kaizo just grew into the default term for extremely hard, technical hacks.

The original Kaizo Mario World wasn't even that brutal in retrospect, it was more of a humorous spin on troll hacks where the difficulty was mostly derived from invisible coin blocks, off screen errors or absurd configurations of enemies that you were expected to save-state scum to get through.

Hacks like Short for Sure and whatever that Anon Babbleorld type hack some people were making on a private server a few years ago. I know the creator behind the My Melody hacks made some levels for this hence why he shilled it so much, but at least his posting style fit in with the rest.

I saw the Anon Babble post too but I highly doubt he'll get it done in a state where the hack is widely considered to be improved, let alone having the boss rush be available in Magma Driver. I believe the other v1.1 team had it in a semi or finished state already, although I didn't see anything from it other than the breaktime screen.

Yeah, I doubt it'll ever get finished in a way that will satisfy everyone. I think some of the level changes are too extreme, and adding the boss rush and extra characters looks completely dead in the water. I guess most of the ASMers are gone or back to wageslaving.
