This game deserves more than just being memory holed.

Cindy is OP
Was she the reporter or the waitress?
I wish the fan servers weren't so full on speedrun mode. I get many of those guys played this for years, but it is hard to enjoy the thrill sometimes. I wish my friends had PCs and patience to play this with me.
Waitress
Dodge everything
Have extra item storage because of herb case
black guy's special ability is smelling so bad that zombies think he's dead
What did Capcpom mean by this?
Neither of the black guys have that ability. Mark starts with a handgun that takes regular handgun ammo, and does more damage with melee weapons, and the other guy, Jim I think, I don't remember what his ability was, or what his special item does.
All Capcom has to do is give it a HD widescreen remaster along with File 2 and bam, easy money. Fans already did it with custom servers, but way more people would play it if they'd just do an official rerelease
I bought a PS2, a PS2 hard drive, and a PS2 keyboard just for this game back in the day. Because I had gotten into Resident Evil on Gamecube.
I had like 250 hours played in total I went hard on this shit. Those 5 levels are all memorized.
That hard drive eventually died after serving me well for piracy, and I played it without the install for the first time and it was ridiculous. Literally 10 seconds on some doors. The majority of niggas lived like that and that's tragic.
Jim gets a coin he can flip. If he gets three heads in a row, his damage becomes monsterous for the rest of the scenario. You just have to find to to flip and get lucky. He is also ignored by zombies more.
He has a coin that increases luck and can play dead iirc
Jim-type characters are more intuitive than others, and can predict where items may be scattered in rooms before they get there (represented by "?" marks on the map). They can also "play dead" in front of zombies
You got shitposted anon.
Considering Capcom referenced Operation Javier in 4make and they already have a Krauser and Leon model ya know...
ai partner tries to melee the poison moth again
store.steampowered.com
The series already has a spiritual successor.
On rails shooter
I mean based, for sure, but this is a survival horror game with "bad camera angles" and shit you seem lost.
There’s no turning back now but, it’ll all be worth it.
Anyone notice all the characters are based on celebrities?
Kevin=Tom Cruise(This one's the most obvious. I remember even Game Informer saying it back then)
Alyssa=Jodie Foster
Jim=Dennis Rodman
David=Brendan Fraser
George=Russel Crowe?(I think)
Mark=Ving Rhames
Cindy and Yoko, I don't know. Maybe Yoko is based on a Japanese celebrity I'm not aware of
Literally the only thing stopping me from getting into this game, but at the same time I understand. I play some other zombie games and I always speedrun them now since I have no patience to wait for noobs to get lost.
Literally 10 seconds on some doors. The majority of niggas lived like that and that's tragic.
Like me. All the more reason for a remaster. Shit loads instantly in emulation. The game really needs another chance with that type of improvement. Shit was a little too ahead of its time. Or maybe more like the ps2 hampered a great idea
David the Best.
Now if only he wouldn't hold a Handgun like an asshole.
You guys don't seriously want another modern multiplayer RE, It won't be Outbreak even if you call it Outbreak.
God, I've lost count on how many of these Capcom tried to do.
I like that he's the only guy that does that, the rest of them have a reason to have experience with firearms, but David is described as a loner that actively avoids other people, so the only time he's probably ever seen a gun being used is in movies or tv shows, so he's just copying what he's seen those characters do.
All they have to do is make a few co op scenarios and then sell more via dlc. Just straight up modern re with 3 other people that requires everyone to work together. It could work if the first batch of scenarios are any good
Who knew one little Backpack would be so powerful?
Does Jim believe that North Korea doesn't exist?
Isn't he implied to be a hitman or something?
Several of his SP Items in the firstOutbreakimply he was a juvenile delinquent.
Capcom tried like five different modern RE multiplayer games in one gen and each one was a massive flop and each title gets worse than the last.
No other setting is the series beats this
I will forever hate Capcom for continuously messing up such a simple idea. Outbreak had it right the first time, but it was made way too early to catch on.
i loved playing this at night when i was a kid in the basement with all the lights off turning the tv way up and scaring the fuck out of myself i can still hear when the menu starts he says Resident Evil...OUTBREAK ive never been able to find a clip of it i still have the game and console just too lazy to hook it up to hear the menu start anyways i dont remember shit that happened because i blocked a lot of memories from those times
Umbrella Chronicles reuses assets from both Outbreak games for the re3 stages. It's a weird Frankenstein of graphics. Still pretty fun though
ive never been able to find a clip of it
There must be a bunch of gameplay videos that have it on Youtube. You can't even start the game without hearing it
GOG! Give me RE: Outbreak 1 and 2 and my life is yours!
Make an outbreak remake
Could easily do the live service thing faggy publishes and investors cum their pants over by adding maps, survivors, new enemies, even pursuers like Nemesis or Tyrants
Could have a mode that's a giant map that's all of raccoon city with the goal of starting out with minimal outbreak then as the days go by it gets tougher and tougher. Could also make this PVPVE or solo where people form groups and try to escape or survive the longest.
don't forget the bunny costume
I can't properly explain why but I do not like the RE Engine. Older Capcom games look a lot better aesthetically for me.
One major flaw was forcing you to play the Outbreak scenario first. It gives new players very little time to get accustomed to the game before the get a train run on them by infinitely respawning zombies. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people failed that a few times, said fuck it, this game sucks and never touched it again.
Rita my beloved
Outbreak really was their only successful multiplayer RE game and for whatever reason they keep neglecting it either having no faith or they may have lost the code for it really annoys me. Make a HD release, better load times, add maybe new chapters, weapons, a character or two, enemies, make a randomizer mode for folks who know the game inside and out, cross-play maybe.
The game is pretty brutal in general. If the people you're playing with aren't at least somewhat competent, you are almost guaranteed to fail. Heck, even if they were, sometimes you would get fucked over somehow and lose. It happened to me so many times back then and I had the official strategy guide. It felt like a game made for classic re diehards with no regard for casual players. Perfect for me, not so much for everyone else. But yeah, forcing everyone to do that first scenario was not the best choice
Must protect from Chief Irons.
Younger Me could never get all the Events to occur in the first Scenario.
The thought of her getting raped and gaped by lickers makes me sad.
For me, a lot of it has to do with modern Capcom's insistence on scanning in things and hoping for the best. They use IRL models for characters, scan in random garbage for textures then call it a day. The older devs used literal kino for inspiration which translates to the overall aesthetic.
Yoko's swimsuit outfit has special sound effects with naked footsteps and material rubbing
nice
Anyone remember bleed status? Any time you were attacked, you could randomly go into a slow limping state just like danger regardless of how much health you had. If you were alone and didn't have a hemostat to cure it, enough time to let it safely go away, or needed to be somewhere fast, you were almost always fucked
Just play as Cindy, she's immune to that status
Couldn't George also fix Bleeding with his Pill Kit?
I think George was my most used Character and I can't remember why.
His pill gun in File 2 was a hilariously cool way to heal teammates
You have no idea how much I freaking love this game, Capcom sent it to it's death.
do dedicated servers
no anti-cheat
no cross play
can't play based on region
There are other issues I can name but these come to mind, it's really unique, it's just so unfortunate that it is plagued with hackers/cheaters.
Biggest offense is that Capcom ditched it for RE:verse, which is the shittiest MP RE game.
To be fair, going full turbo autism is the only way to play on very hard
ai partner drained every single firearm in the level
File #1 is pure cancer
or oneshot anything
Literally who?
The superior Alyssa
I'm not thrilled on RE Engine, but the older games didn't look that good either.
I played for years & never even seen this costume?
I loved this game too. It was a really fun asymmetric game that could've used more support. I remember the devs going on one of the forums saying how they wanted to make more content for it, but Capcom refused to pay them.
this was the reason why RE3 demake sucked donkey’s dick
I fucking hate the current team for this, i hope they all die
my bet is that Capcom is holding it as an ace so it can make free money eventually: they can't bet that retarded to not know that.
lmao if you think a multiplayer game with shitty cameras and controls with no voice chat would be anything other than an embarrassing flop today
All they had to do was balance it more add more levels and it could have been great but Capcom's run by morons and just left it to get overrun by cheaters instantly killing it
Wasn't it some B team that worked on Resistance and Remake 3?
This is the same Capcom who gave us Lost Planet 3 when Lost Planet's 2 found success with coop in the story mode speaking of which still no word on them fixing Lost Planet 2 on Steam been two gens since the game released
Wasn't it some B team that worked on Resistance and Remake 3?
nta, but from what I could find RE3 remake was done by Capcom's Division 1, in cooperation with M-Two, Capcom's subsidiary K2 Co., and NeoBards.
Resistance is said to have been developed by NeoBards alone.
So if Resistance being developed was the reason why remake sucked, it would have been cause of budget spread out too thinly between projects and Capcom executives being too cheap to pay more.
I would argue Resistance being sold in package with RE3 remake was the first sign Capcom gave up on the game (maybe both games) before it even took off, a lot of people didn't even know it existed, or didn't really want RE3.
you're thinking of Dead Aim
Lost Planet
It's been years but that was such a fun series what happened?
