What's the saddest event in gaming?
The Last of Us and its consequences
GameStop is evil
which "consequences" would those be, boxtard? gonna be a schizo and blame last of us for every bad in the world including rona and sony becoming soulless just like the entire rest of the industry and every other?
If he sold them on ebay how much would he expect to get?
6wide x ~24long = ~144amibos x $20 average cost =$2880 in plastic waste
spend $15,000 on collectibles
10 years pass
collectibles are now worth significantly more money
trade them in for a tiny portion of how much you originally paid
What was the end game of that? This is functionally identical to someone buying bitcoin at peak value and selling it at floor value.
Actually, Anon Babble would love this image.
get ripped off so hard that Gamestop makes a post about their haul
LMAO
love hoarding plastic
nobody who needs money can afford that many toys. he just wanted to get rid of them
how many of them were up his ass at one point
He's not jewish, same can't be said for you.
this guy is a retard going to gamestop of all places to sell your shit LA MAO
I mean, if we're being serious for a second, the vast majority of amiibo are worthless and putting them up on eBay is a pain in the ass. It's still retarded though.
Bro, what else would you expect from tendies? They're fucking retarded and can't manage money for shit
Watch them claim that their new toy is cheap even though they have to pay for games + online
Even with shipping costs he would have gotten a LOT out of a complete amiibo collection.
preach it! embrace simplicity, embrace convenience. dont think, fellas! its hard!
i'd say he got a good deal considering they are without a box and displayed. Ebay takes a crazy 17% of what you sell + all that extra effort to take pics, look up individual prices, put up the auction, wait, wand wait for someone to bite. And theres always going to be those asshole buyers that demand a refund + keep the item for some bs reason
he got a good deal
bro they didn't even give him cash. he got STORE CREDIT. gamestop fucked him so hard they made a social media post about it. taking the few extra steps to sell on ebay is 10000% better than going to fucking gamefart.
Actually Sony is to thank for the current gaming industry. PS3 exclusives popularized the "cinemtaic" game trope.
only sensible post ITT
the vast majority of amiibo are worthless
no, not really, only the super overprinted ones like animal crossing figures are
What amiibos are rare?
he got a good deal considering they are without a box and displayed
No he didn't. The Smash amiibo even unboxed can get you the amount he got. And he had a shitload more from the look of it.
More than 2x what GameStop gave him at least.
this or that redditor with the starcraft source code
Qbby
the Japan-only Monster Hunter Stories amiibos
Chibi-Robo
Poochy and the yarn Yoshis
off the top of my head qbby, mega yarn yoshi, gold megaman, megaman 11 megaman, yarn poochy I think
yeah basically figure with a low print run that never received reprints and are highly unlikely to
That dude could probably have gotten over 10k if he got rare amiibos, what a fucking scam gamestop is.
>Chibi-Robo
is he really that rare, they were basically giving away the bundles
>Chibi-Robo
How is that rare it sells for $10? Unless there is another one I don't know about.
chibi robo amiibo is worthless
Anon probably mixed up the game
atleast it wasnt beanie babies
I am a retard and did indeed mix up the game and amiibo.
we scammed this kid and are proud of it
old.reddit.com
I don't feel bad for him, he seems dumb as hell
yarn Yoshis
I remember seeing the Mega Yarn Yoshi at the store and I'm mad I didn't buy it because that fucker goes for $100+ used.
Real money, for one thing.
Everything that is not animal crossing or red base Mario characters
Man, just the 5 monster hunter amiibos are worth 1000 dollars. Can't even imagine how much money this was worth.
insists he did his research and it wasn't about money, but practically every post boils down to him finding it convenient and just wanting THE MONEY
doesn't want Donkey Kong
wants fucking Pokemon
meh alpha kits are well documented, we've got all the alpha kit software & even source code for xbox kernel at this point
a dev kit completely different to final hardware owned by a clueless redditor would have helped out 0%
only sad part is the HDD contents since he mentioned "it was empty so I formatted it", xbox HDDs would show up empty since they're not formatted for regular windows
i dunno why they'd even bother trying to use the HDD since it was only like 8gb or something anyway
anyone who spends multiple days in a row arguing on plebbit is automatically dumb as hell this retard has spent over a week going
"ERM Actually I'm not a retard becuz Ebay has fees"
i promise you that his rich parents paid for them anyways so he doesnt even care
LOL I'm not mad LOL LOL EMOJI LOL
He's broken
They posted so many angles and the more you look at the photos the funnier this gets because so many of those like the Solaire of Astora alone can go for $100+ and lots of those are easy fifty bucks a pop.
Gamecube failing to kill Nintend𐐬.
i collected all the smash ones, zelda ones and animal crossing ones.
sold em to a pawn shop for like 500 bucks last year
probably a retarded thing to do, but i wasn't low on cash. i was just depressed and wanted to stop collection useless shit. worked. haven't collected any retro games or whatever since. now i just hike every weekend
It was dumb but you're better off so whatever
The college guy clearly needed the money or he couldn't get the switch 2
Guys "invest" in huge collections like this then get fucked when they need the cash fast.
The actual true sensible post in this thread.
Alan Wake 2
Press forward for emotions
I actually can't think of anything much sadder than a 13-year-old game and a years-later sequel being the cause of someone's cuck origin story and them not just making their own game in that amount of time.
the saddest thing is being into collecting tendie shit in the first place.
Tendies deserve to be scammed. Worst fanbase in gaming.
no that's snoys
Autism is just so sad.
$1340 trade credit
He got hosed. The yarn yoshis alone are worth a mint and if he had a complete Smash 4 set it would have been valued higher than $1300.
The lesson here is to never, ever interact with Gamestop in any way
Not at this point it isn't. You fucks have no idea.
Spend thousands of dollars on shitty toys
Either sell them fast for a pittance
Or sell them over a decade to maybe break even after all costs because most wont sell for all that much anyway
Tangentially related, but I went to best buy today. Holy shit the video game section was depressing. Like 15 ps5 games, almost all priced at $70, even $50 remakes. Maybe 5 xbox games. Slim ps5 with drive for $500, classic series x already upped to $600. No consoles on display. ps5 controllers were $75 or $79. Switch was full price, naturally. They didn’t even have ps5 stands. It probably says more about brick and mortar than the game industry, but how the hell does gamestop still exist? What are they like nowadays?
but how the hell does gamestop still exist?
isnt it because a bunch of redditor brought up the stock prise
it crashed right back down. they were just able to because it’s a weak stock
what did you expect? indies?
the place used to be wall to wall. the newest game they had was indiana jones
I heard best buy was getting rid off all physical media so it's not surprising
i suppose it's because everything is digital now... With regard to your question on gamestop, it's more of a "hobby" store now. they reoriented like ten years ago. by hobby i don't mean gaming, I mean like pokemon cards and posters and lame reddit stuff (funko pops)
yeah I guess it’s not surprising considering a lot of consoles don’t have drives anymore. I just makes the industry feel dead. I want to go back to the halo 2 days
real money with the down side of
Possibly not selling
taking forever to sell
potential trolls
the need to either sell as a lot or individually
no, at least they make OC
A big reason was because some giant investment firm was shorting the Gamestop stock. These giant firms swoop in and place money on a company going under, profiting on a stock failing and driving the company out od business. One guy, who also had a Youtube channel, thought the practice was bullshit so he rallied a buch of people on reddit and even Anon Babble here to buy against the big short. The firm played dirty and paid off the company whose sofyware the investors were ysing to stop them from buying from Gamestop. Thd government started to side with the firm doing the short. Not surprising since they had paid Biden's Treasury Secretary a shit ton of money in the past.
Paul Danno played the guy who rallied for Gamestop in a cable movie that wasnt too bad.
>taking forever to sell
This just reminds me I have boxes of shit I've been meaning to sell on eBay. Been saying it for years.
limited space
Can't you literally just ship your shit to amazon warehouse and they hold on to your stuff until it sells? What the actual fuck?
he doesnt have the time and he doesnt want his dorm room filled up with a bunch of childish toys
make amazon account
put shit in box
send to amazon
????
