1) A lot of threads are made by secondary actors, like the Jannies or Marketers, you can see this in action when the thread is particularly inflammatory but the OP never replies to anyone--everyone just replies to each other.
2) A ton of people here don't actually play video games they just get off on social media drama, it is the equivalent of a group of women in the lunchroom gossiping about the other groups of women.
I love Anon Babble, but it's very clearly dying a fast death. Gacha on the front page is genuinely an ill omen for the future of gaming, we used to stand up to that sort of trash.

By the way a small advice to anyone that buys Sacred GOLD from GOG. When you are downloading the game, also download the Quickstart from the Extras on the left of your offline installer. In the Quickstart there is a PDF that was a short version of the manual that includes the Shortcuts for the game and you need those since you can find them in the menus of the game(old game remember). This is my current character that i started yesterday.

Sure but know that your experience may vary. After i played Disco Elysium i watched a streamer play some and was amazed how different the game looked in his playtrough.
There can only be a limited number of threads up at one time and negative threads get more engagement than positive ones so threads about games people like don't last long.
I’ve had this lingering thought in the back of my head for a few years of: what’s the point of playing games when I’m having the same experience as everyone else. Only really exceptional titles and choice heavy games have been able to avoid this. Also Factorio but that’s digital cocaine.
It's kind of funny on those archive boards, when Anon Babble was down there were a lot of sensible anons since the usual ADHD shitposters and jeets got filtered out, and we all had good discussions on what the worst threads/posters on Anon Babble are and how the usual suspects should be purged off the boards

Had the Great Board Split never happened we would see a lot more actual vidya discussion. People want to blame gamergater or whatever boogie man they make up for why Anon Babble is shit compared to 15 years ago but the real reason is the made Anon Babble and Anon Babble. It completely removed in depth video game discussion. I almost exclusively play retro games but I've never been to Anon Babble and I never will, but I've come to Anon Babble pretty much daily since 2006. Getting rid of generals was a major mistake too and makes no sense. It's literally a fucking video game board. If they were worried about generals taking over they could have just added space on Anon Babble to allow 50 more threads or something. Fracturing video game discussion was so fucking stupid and ruined a lot of the fun and personality of Anon Babble
