Probably trying to conserve the old ways of the Jedi considering he was around before the events of Order 66. Haven't watched it but what you typed makes it sounds like cancer, yeah. I only remember that it was promptly considered non-canon, as in even to the EU. And that's quite the achievement given that most of the EU is actual garbage that also disregards the source material.

As I was skimming TCW recently, I watched this one episode in the 6th or 7th season because it had Tarkin in the thumbnail. Turns out the whole episode was ass-soaker getting framed for murder and then abandoning the Jedi Order.
There's some absolutely cringe scene where Anakin is pleading with her to come back, and she says that she can't because doesn't trust the Jedis. Then Anakin is like 'well, I don't really trust or like them either." And Ahsoka says "I know." And then she leaves anyway.
