Starfield is a pretty good game. At least from my experience anyway.
Starfield is a pretty good game. At least from my experience anyway
loading screen and shit character writing the game
i liked being able to build a ship that doubled as your home and travel around it
setting was ass though
You think Starfield is bad?
Just wait till you see TES VI
I played it and thought it was pretty fun. It was destroyed before it even released by:
Sour grapes PlayStation owners
Perpetual Bethesda haters
Woke grifting
So all of social media has decided it was shit before the game even released.
Sour grapes PlayStation owners
the game is unfinished and boring todd.
yeah I spent hours in the ship builder as it felt like an important thing
then turns out ship combat is 100% irrelevent for completing the main story
if you do invest in it what happens is you teleport to a screen, select a ship with E and press a button and it explodes.
its really bad
NPC response opinion #3
Okay
It's a nice game. The problem is it came out at the worst time. TES hadn't really had anything new since Skyrim and they REALLY wanted anything that would give them a TES feel (even if it's not supposed to be TES in the first place). I feel that really got fans upset and created a domino effect for people who otherwise wouldn't have cared about Starfield or Bethesda games in the first place outside of maybe Skyrim. People also hated MS more than usual at the time because of the Activision Blizzard King deal going through. I still say if TES VI came out first then Starfield, you'd be seeing a whole lot less "outrage" over it. Also .
Just my view though.
what exactly were people who arent bethesda fanboys meant to like about starfield at launch
its fantastically void of anything that can be considered good and plenty gameplay moments that are 0/10
a low effort remaster of a 19 year old game is better. shartfield was a disaster by literally every metric and denying that is just blind contrarianism. the games a dud.
I liked it at first but all the fast traveling and loading screens increasingly made it feel like a separate cell adrift in a videogame not an actual spaceship
it was destroyed upon release by Synthetic Man. I've had more fun rewatching his review than i would have had playing the game
although him saying ".. if the Russians ever make it to space.." when the game was first revealed was funny, i know what he meant but still
I had fun with it but the procedurally generated planets really ruin any sense of exploration. The first time you come across a carbon copy dungeon on a different planet you realize that there is no point exploring, and then you’re just fast traveling to different points on different planets for the story
They were hoping people would naturally hop on board because of the "hype" around it the same way normalfags flocked to Skyrim by the millions and completely changed the community forever.
segmented map completely destroys the game.
you cant say people dont like these games anymore cause oblivion just blew everyone the fuck out again. starfield just feels bad to play.
You do realize the shadow dropped Oblivion because dumb social media NPCs would've created so much bad press that it would've bombed like Starfield.
they shadow dropped**
fuck
On my playthrough I was compelled to take 2 screenshots, both were moments of "holy shit I cant believe a video game can look this hideous"
I wonder how do people trying to be positive about it feel about like background npcs just looking like they spawned from hell and the same leadership team OKing everythine else about the game. Like their basic values are just off.
Yeah man it's all about marketing and twitter trends, nothing to do with the objective quality of the games. Fucking delusional.
what exactly were people who arent bethesda fanboys meant to like about starfield at launch
I'm one of those non-Bethesda fanboys who got this at launch. I don't know why I like Starfield and not Elder Scrolls or Fallout, but I do. I haven't played Daggerfall yet though and people say sometimes that's about as close as the Elder Scrolls gets to Starfield's general feel, but I've tried the others from Morrowind on and I drop them about an hour in, if that. Great games I'm sure, just not for me.
i checked out the SF subreddit once out of morbid curiosity (I think i missed my bus or something). surely they can't be fanboying over this turd months after release. i deeply regret doing so
Yeah, it's called an information cascade. If you had an IQ higher than room temperature you might understand.
nta but quality games sometimes do get overshadowed by big releases, see VtmB. although that was pre-Twitter
And what started the cascade? The game being dogshit. Lol. What other logic will you use to escape this reality.
There was a flood of critique there since starfield begs for it but no one can read the same thing over and over, and making posts about specific things they want fixed doesnt matter since they wont ever be fixed. So whats left
doesn't know what an information cascade is
dumbass
weird thread
Yeah I don't ascribe social theories to delude myself from reality. I hope you can improve on this for your own sake. The game was received poorly because it was a bad game.
It's a fucking FPS in space, with bad gunplay and presented in the worst possible way. We're in fucking outspace in the glorious future with all the freedom and possibilities that affords and they couldn't come up with anything more novel than what's been done since Doom.
Call me when the sex mods are more polished. And they fix the stealth too
Well sure it has nice looking things, gameplay isnt terrible and menus dont look bad and sounds are okay and some of the environments like neon could be considered decent.
But then you look at long term gameloop and its pretty bad dialogue, its procgen planets, endless loading screens, meaningless base building, meaningless ship building, companions you dont like, bethesdas mid writing, inventory management.
Was it fuck, I saw all the doomposters and ignored them because I figured there's no way Todds 'dream game' could be worse than vanilla Skyrim, Fallout etc, holy fuck was I wrong. The base game is terrible with next to no depth to any of the sandboxy shit that Bethesda games are usually good for. The procgen planets needed some kind of progression system like Daggerfall had its zillions of factions and reputation grinds to back up the repetition but there's nothing like that in Starfield.
He's right. If they gave Oblivion Remastered even a few weeks before it came out after giving it an official trailer and the works, it would have been destroyed for "soulless graphics" alone. Then when it released and it still have loading screens and shit everywhere (same complaints Starfield has) and the other issues that come with using the same 2006 engine under the hood with UE5 smothered on top (which give its own UES problems), it would have been a sign that "Bethesda hasn't learned anything, Bethesda is dead, Oblivion Remastered is a disaster and TES VI is doomed to failure" or something. That would have been parroted by everyone online and everyone would just go along with it. Shadow dropping avoided all of that since it gives people no time to get pre-established views from anyone like online influencers. Meaning people all get to play the game for themselves all at the same time and go from there.
I fully expect that Bethesda is going to keep this in mind now that it worked wonders for Oblivion Remastered and also for Hi-Fi Rush at the time.
GTA games should allow us to own RVs that doubles as player homes
Here's how sex mods are looking so far:
SnuSnuField
-9 positions
-Initiated through stripping or setting up a hotkey
-Has facial expressions
-Has kissing and hugging animations
-Can perform necrophilia (lol)
NAF Seduce
-3 positions
-Initiated through dialogue after using a consumable
-Each position has multiple animation stages, including an orgasm one
-Has voices but only for the player right now
-Allows for same sex interactions
-Designed around it, but does not force you to use Robert S body
Shadow dropping because muh negative influencers
Bullshit. They shadow dropped it because it's a cash grab reskin shit out by contract workers in Indonesia. Beth/MS were too afraid to hype it at all because they literally did not know how it would be received. Turns out nostalgia is a hell of a drug and enough time has passed that plenty of new gamers chose Remastered as the point of entry to that one epic game they keep hearing about.
Or maybe... Oblivion is a popular tried and true game that people already liked, while Starfield is a bad game that noone liked? Keep making vast assumptions and theorizing instead of addressing the obvious simple solution that Starfield was a bad game.
erm it's just a social theory
I wouldn't delude myself
Cope harder retard. My point was that everyone decided it was bad before it even came out. And by the time the game did come out everyone was just bandwagoning and looking for reasons to continue calling it bad.
I had never played a Bethesda game before and ended up I playing the game for 130 hours. I did a questline becoming a space pirate and another where I raided what was basically space Batman's lair. It was fun. Easily an 8/10.
Long term "gameplay loop" whatever that is seems to be fine for me since I still play Starfield. It's OK if it's not a game you like, though.
they didn't do anything with the whole nasapunk thing, they didn't even stick to the aesthetic. half the shit looks like it came out of the unreal asset store under "generic scifi"
Cope
Lol. I guess if you have played a few games in your life Starfield could be impressive. But many people (not you) had played their other games and had pre-conceived notions. You're still projecting your experience and making vast assumptions instead of accepting the obvious answer. The game was bad, and people didn't like it.
You don't play games, nigger. You just bitch about them on the internet.
If the Body Type selector got time to breath before Oblivion Remastered came out, that would have done MUCH worse damage to it than the soulless graphics thing would have.
Average slop eater response. More projection and delusions.
No cope! That's actually what happened and I have no opinion on the Remaster at all. I'm not even being down on the Remaster, just describing why they did it like that.
slop eater
t. only has YouTuber approved opinions
You enjoy playing Starfield, you should go play Fallout 76 next. You'll probably love it. You can be part of the ever decreasing minority who also have delusions and theories about why everyone else is wrong.
big main studio game
versus
rushed b studio working on an asset flip service game
Apples to oranges. You're a retard and you don't know how to think for yourself. I hope you grow a brain, numbnuts.
No is not.
I really wanted it to be good, I wanted a shooter in a non apocalyptic scenario. But is not good. Fuck Bethesda
they look like the "people" you find in casinos
This game is so bad it feels like internal sabotage of some kind. Someone had it out for Todd and spent years undermining this game.
Only Todd could release a game with realistic nigger jeer and get it past reviewers
This is simply the result of Todd's management after he drove away everyone who made Bethesda vaguely good
Imagine thinking liking one flawed game means you’re obligated to enjoy every corporate misstep like it’s a subscription service. Starfield had decent bones if you weren’t expecting it to resurrect Morrowind in space. Fallout 76 was a straight-up broken launch and only clawed its way to mediocrity years later. Not the same situation, not the same kind of failure — but keep coping, champ.
Forgot to @
runs like shit
looks like shit
shit emil story
typical bethesda engine problems where your save will just unravel and become corrupted the longer you play, their bandaid fix, ng+, just slightly delays the inevitable and added NOTHING to the game
its SHIT saarfield fags DIE please
It's a simple recommendation stop projecting your delusions onto me. If you genuinely enjoyed such a shitty game like Starfield you would probably enjoy a similarly shitty game like Fallout 76.
Here's a sample recommendation, stop being dumb niggercattle
You say that while defending Starfield. A game exclusively enjoyed by your insult.
I don't understand Bethesda fags
fantasy slop
They love it
fallout slop
They love it
space slop
EWWW
And you enjoyed the low effort niggerslop YouTube content that gave you your braindead opinion.
They are still stuck in their delusional defense mechanism
Starfield is one of the most boring I've ever played, it's quite literally the perfect 5/10 game, even more perfect than the outer worlds.
It's just fans of the respective franchises. TES isn't Fallout or Starfield. Fallout isn't TES or Starfield. Starfield isn't TES or Fallout. TES and Fallout have bigger, more established fanbases and one of those fanbases (Fallout) actually got games and even a TV show fairly recent. TES hasn't gotten anything for over a decade. They were teased TES VI the same day we got the Starfield teaser six years ago.
Starfield came out, TES VI still isn't out yet. Starfield is the reason TES VI isn't out yet. TES fans have to wait more years for TES VI because of a new IP with no established fan base, no relation to TES, and doesn't even fill the area TES fans want filled.
be patient
It has been literally 14 YEARS.
The gameplay is literally just trading hits with enemies and using medkits. The higher your level, the less medkits you have to use.
There is zero strategy
Sums up about 80-90% of the anger online in one post. Bethesda made a mistake doing Starfield first.
more than one game can be bad so I am not sure what you are getting at
starfield is kino but it's not amazing. NG+ feature is cool though
starfield had some good ideas that were overshadowed by very bad production decisions. the project committed to very dated technology and allowed themselves to be unambitious in what they were building. there was clearly a lot of passion and talent amongst the team, which had no way to truly deliver to their potential. the game thoroughly reeks of management failures
That's a Bethesda game for you
Starfield is the reason TES VI isn't out yet
It's actually ESO, same with FO76 for Fallout, right before Zenimax was officially sold to M$ we got tons of their data leaked thanks to M$ fucking up like usual, that included really interesting things like presentations for investors and rejected storylines(don't read them it will just make you angry), that's also how we know Starfield was in dev hell for 3 years. Either way Starfield was a necessary sacrifice to the engine like every first game on refreshed engine, you should be happy it wasn't TES.
TES VI will be so bad that'll it'll make Starfield way better in hindsight
a new IP with no established fan base
True. I do like how generally close knit the Starfield community is though. It's relatively small compared to the bigger Bethesda RPG franchises, but it's a good community and apparently Starfield has auto gatekeeping, so there's that.
I don't know, I played it on Gamepass and tried to like it for what it was. It has its moments, but most of the criticisms really are justified, it's just generally soulless and it's hard to get immersed because it's so fragmented and lacking in charm.
no it won't
yes it will
I am literally Todd Howard
apparently Starfield has auto gatekeeping
Wait until after the PS5 release to say that.
