We are never having a largescale dense openworld city of this magnitude again, aren't we?
We are never having a largescale dense openworld city of this magnitude again, aren't we?
made 11 years ago
how are we literally going into reverse when it comes to games?
jeets?
What "magnitude" are you talking about? It's literally just empty, pointless 3d space with zero interactivity
greedy unions driving up the costs of games so companies are forced to outsource or make only marginal profits on their games
company upkeep isnt free and most revenues gets diverted to operating costs AND wages/salaries
Unity fucking sucked, bruh.
It's the best AC game with AC2.
Now, zoom in and see those CS1.6 draw distance and textures on nearby buildings. Oh and don't forget that artificial fog that is all over the place to hide just how ugly everything looks.
The best AC game is the first one.
mipmaps are..le evil?
this
kys niggar faggot
empty
it's probably the most bustling city ever made in
a AAA video game
Nice revisionist history, Schlomo
You can have that, but don't expect to be able to go into every building.
No, diversity hiring is the actual answer.
AAA companies are full of people now who don't even like games, which would have been nearly unimaginable in say the 90s, when most of the devs would also be enthusiastic playtesters.
oh yeah unlike great Bethesda games where you can go inside all 6 huts
Keep in mind that even Revelations, a smaller scale AC title from several years prior, had every single Ubisoft studio working on and 15+ minute long credits. What they were doing was unsustainable even with the resources of a giant like Ubisoft.
Claim "UNITY IS DA BEST BRO IT LOOKS SO GOOD!"
it doesn't
get mad
Retard.
Have you not been playing Oblivion? Each town has at least 50 interiors including things like the church and castle.
Unity has more than that in a single district and one of the most beautiful cathedral in game
openworld city
lmao do you even know what open world means?
no, its jeets
1km/1km
>IMMENSIVE
very nice now post daggerfall
But unity more fun and prettier
people are nostalgic about assassin's creed of all things
Grim.
Check out unity (pirate it)
It's actually pretty fun to run around and the combat is decent
pretty sure video game dev unions don't even exist, or if they do, they're incredibly small and irrelevant
We are never having a largescale dense openworld city of this magnitude again, aren't we?
lol
lmao
Just wait till AI can generate it all for you in better detail than codemonkeys ever could.
This is just a bunch of pointless buildings clumped together. It serves no purpose and isn't how cities are actually designed. There's nothing special about it
No it doesn't
Are you like 15 years old or something? Unity was a dogshit game and it did nothing unique compared to any other asscreed
This looks terrible
I think it's pretty close to a real city and what purpose do you want buildings to serve other than having loot, enemies and ability to climb
Kys jeet.
It does doe
Older shart creeds were good, stop being a fucking Anon Babbleermin with atrocious taste.
This isn't how Paris was designed 200 years ago despite evidence of it being like that
Were you there, nigger?
Just placing a bunch of building assets on a map doesn't cost any more money
But I only played unity, years later and i enjoyed it.
was promised a world with AI in the early 00s where menial tasks and busywork are eliminated giving humanity time to focus on the arts, humanities, and science
Instead we are now being given a world where AI is mastering the arts, humanities, and science so that we can focus on menial tasks and tedium
The future has never looked more bleak with modern AI
How is it going in reverse? The newest ass creed has environments that are vastly more detailed, varied and realistic than this. They aren't good games, but the environment construction is much more impressive
You know nothing about creating maps and assets so stfu
older sharts were shart, even the first one lost it's novelty after like an hour, the only one that was half decent was black flag, I literally didn't even make it past the main menu in origins before I refunded
Unity may look good, but literally all AC 1 to AC Revelations have superior parkour. Despite shills trying to claim that it peaked on this game. The only thing that peaked was the animations, but the parkour down was more restrictive than any of those games.
Imagine being stupid enough to hate a single bloke in a garage being able to generate a AAA game with minimal cost over big corpo's feeding you tranny propaganda 24/7
Absolute fucking brainlet
fallout 4 was unironically "denser"
It's not that simple.
Good things require design sensibilities tech bros and ai jeets got none of thst
Neither does ubisoft
AI has completely stagnated and won't advance any further
Doubling down on stupidity?
Say whatever about overall game design but the worlds are really well made
All those parallel universes where Witcher 3 got outsold by another game, and Ubisoft spent the next 10 years shamelessly ripping off that game instead of TW3
Night City is probably the best open world city. Kuttenburg in KCD2 is pretty great as well.
the violated heroine universe exists
you aren't in it
the only one that was half decent was the dogshit that turned it into the terrible crap it is now
Yeah, opinion thrown into the fucking garbage. Nigger flag is exactly when shart creed jumped the shark.
You have not played it
How's cp2077
In terms of
Combat
Exploration
Mina quest quality
Side quest quality
You can pretty much go into every historically significant building in Unity and there are also a lot of taverns, cafes, printing shops, lodges you can slip into while parkouring.
Unity's parkour is peak, Arno's story hits, and Paris is gorgeous. Y'all just bandwagon on bugs that got patched.
Man, the level of detail in this is just astounding. It's no small feat to recreate french revolution paris and versailles. Even though I'm not a fan of gameplay I sometimes just fire this game up to just parkour through the open world and soak in the beauty. The game has a lot of interiors too iirc and they were all really well one. The first time I went inside the notre dam cathedral my jaw dropped
You must be blind because Unity has very bad LODs where even a bit more distant textures are blurry smears. You can see this even in OPs screenshot.
Unity's stealth is pure sex, co-op slaps hard, and French Revolution is a kino aesthetic. Buncha normie Anon Babble chuds crying over nothing.
LODs where even a bit more distant textures are blurry smears.
That's not really noticeable unless you climb a really high structure and it was just a technological constraint. When it comes to art direction, atmosphere and historical authenticity the open world is really well done(except for the uniforms of french troops)
Because unity has one of the better combat system in current year.
No rollslop, no bamham just positioning and timing all of that fluid and fast.
no bamham
wasn't the combat in bamham basically just copying AC?
youtu.be
Just compare Unity's Paris to Valhalla's Paris...
Wtf valhalla has paris? I thought it takes place in England
There's a dlc that takes place in Northern France and you can go to paris in it.
They restrict you from entering the ille de la city once you finish the mission wtf were they even thinking
least obvious ubisoft shill thread
looks pretty but not that impressive also that dude moves a like a tank
Huh, AC2 and Arkham Asylum released same year.
if they could fix the shit lighting at time and poor texture in places.
unity would in top 5 prettiest games of all time
We will never get another open world game set in historical paris
Brainrot fox news take
To be fair Paris was a much less urbanised city during the Viking Age. During the Viking sack of Paris in 845, the city's population was likely around 5-8 thousand - it only really became a significant seat of royal power in the 11th century
why can't ubisoft make a character as cool as ezio anymore?
The population was less back then sure but the city was also small. The city looks completely empty.
