To be fair to jrpgs they are pretty varied when it comes to race design. I can’t recall 3 jrpgs from the last 3 years that have humans with animal ears in them. Unicorn Overlord and Eiyuden both had characters with digitigrade legs and those are a rarity in current western rpgs.
