My biggest compliant about the sequel is the slums no longer have that unique funky urban decay feel.

It's part 2 of a game that is already paced like shit. Not only do people have to beat part 1, they have to not be offended by the ending enough to have interest in part 2, on top of people who are just waiting for all the games to come out as opposed to waiting a decade for square enix to finish remaking one game. Why would I spend 50 dollars for an incomplete experience when hundreds of games come out each month that are complete including the overrated French rpg because while I don't care for E33 I can at least say the game has a beginning middle and end and wastes far less of your time

Unless I'm mistaken, they openly admitted doing a staggered release schedule plus make it a temp exclusive was a very bad idea, and they won't do that anymore.

The huge problem with FF7R is that it's a lot less raw and gritty on top of EVERYTHING needing to be a bombastic display, from the character moments, to the deaths, to the jokes, nothing can just be a matter of fact. The plate dropping in the original game was a raw scene. It was fast paced, there was no dawdling not even for your fallen comrades, a lot of people died just as a matter of fact. They lingered on the AFTERMATH a little bit, but the game didn't just plod along during this moment of urgency. Likewise, Nanaki being in his sailor suit was more of a fun visual gag as opposed to this big bombastic display where he dances around. When you start to notice that pretty much every scene in the rremakeis like this it becomes exhausting

Its funny you say that because Remake and Rebirth feel more like Disney like action versions of the original game, which was way more gritty. Obnoxious anime NPCs, Barret is longer a crazy black man, Cid no longer a complete asshole that curses as much as Barret, etc.

Remake improved a lot. I agree in 2020 it was very lackluster, Rebirth is significantly better, though I feel the same about the remake last time I played it.

Well, the game isnt complete and missing the final(?) part. Being timed exclusive didnt help either, initial hype was gone. Those are things that came to mind first
