You know, I was wondering, what should Japanese developers do now? Somewhere since the third PlayStation, the genre has stagnated and rotted. Once a year, an interesting project could come out that tried to do something new or unusual. Everything else is a hundred times over-digested feces, chewing over the same mechanics, the same archetypes, plots and visual styles.

And of course, nothing that tried to move away from anime. And so the 33rd expedition simply annihilated 20 years of stagnation of the Japanese in the genre. Some frogs who had never made a JRPG in their life, in a country that has no tradition of JRPG, in their debut game made a bigger step forward, to the side, anywhere, than the cross-eyed monkeys in the same 20 years.

In the good old days, the ancestors of the Japanese had only one way to wash off this shame. Commit seppuku on a green lawn, rip open your belly, spill your guts and clear your name before the people and the emperor. Do you think modern Japanese are capable of this? Nuclear bombings turned their brains into anime, and honor was forgotten and trampled by the American boot. Any dignity and pride were completely leveled by the American master. Basedjaks.

So all they are capable of is either grudgingly, with envy and hypocrisy, congratulating on Twitter, or complaining on the same Twitter that their budgets are not right. But the studio has 30 people! In short, shame and disgrace to Japanese developers!

I don't know, this year we will have:

MGS3 Remake (loved by autists)
Death Stranding 2 (loved by journos)
Mario Kart World (loved by journos)
New Donkey Kong (loved by journos)
They will probably get the RPG of the year and maybe soundtrack but GOTY is hard.

the game clearly lacks budget in a few areas and sometimes it feels like it's in character expressions in cutscenes but post Maelle getting her memory back she makes this face a lot it feels like. What I took from it is that she finally feels the "control" over her life that she felt she lacked her entire normal and life as Maelle now that she's literally god.

1. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (everyone seems to love it critics and regular gamers alike)
2. Death Stranding 2 (geoff loves kojima games and so do most of the games media)
3. Split Fiction (games media love Josef Fares's games)
4. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
5. Metroid Prime 4 (The Metroid Prime games are generally held in high regard and always do well and it fills the Nintendo slot)
6. Blue Prince (games media love it and its obligatory indie game)

Wasn't Ghost of Tsushima basically totally ignored for all awards shit in the year it came out? Why do people think the sequel will be different? Because of the woman bonus?

The voice actors in this game will be robbed when the Geoff awards give best voice acting to some faggot from Kojimas game.

I have low expectations for Prime 4. 3 was a step down from the first two and barely any of the original team is still around.

List maker here. I also have doubts about Prime 4 so maybe that slot could end up being swapped with Donkey Kong or Mario Kart.

Dunno if anyone remembers that Hell is Us game? Thats coming out later this year and could end up having a good reception. Maybe im wrong but I think thats also a small dev team.
