Why does Anon Babble often lose its shit at the idea of zoomies having grown up with sixth and seventh gen? Nobody bats an eyelid when someone born in 1989 claims to have had a SNES, but replace that with someone born in 1999 talking about how much they liked the PS2 or the Gamecube and suddenly it's "nooooo you were a toddler when it came out so it doesn't count!!!"

Do they?
This board gets mad when zoomers say they experienced Minecraft, what do you expect?
toddlers can't form memories or opinions
Maybe NPC trash ones can't.
I had a Commodore 64 when I was a toddler and I still remember how to launch games and exactly how to beat Lazarian.
A memory is a memory no matter when you made it.
This board if full of zoomies though
It's because you say dumb shit like "PS3 is retro because it's 10 years old"
Boomers here blame everything on zoomers. I was born in 2004 and grew up with a ps2 until 2017.
PS3 is 10 years old
Anon...you might want to sit down for this.
it's 19 year's old anon...
Knowing how much influence that is going to have on their "taste" really grinds my gears. We will never have great games ever again
who gives a shit
i grew up with this bad boy and i wasnt even a sparkle in my dads eye when it came out
I don't think it matters how old you are, it's more about bandwagoning. I always shit on my casual shithead friend who is the same age for starting the Resident Evil series with 4. No one likes a tourist who hasn't done their homework first.
Isn't that the guy obsessed with the Gamecube but said the Neo Geo was irrelevant?
No I'm not saying PS3 is exactly 10 years old, but zoomers have this weird mindset where they arbitrarily use 10 years as the bemchmark for anything being retro, probably because they never got to experience the medium shifting.
I don't with most zoomers. But Scott has basically admitted he played nothing but Spongebob and random licensed crap until he was almost in college.
Yes. You can't shove forced memes like "cubie" or "scrimblo fag" down people's throats and write lengthy dissertations that are made for no other purpose other than to be screencap bait about how those that fall under the labels of said forced memes have the taste they do because of how they grew up with GameCube all because you still haven't gotten over your lame, flavor of the month anime character getting met with collective groans during some Smash direct and claim that you're totally not mad.
Yeah right, this board has the most uncs by a mile compared to other boards
Neo Geo was irrelevant. Even the rich kids I knew in elementary never spoke about it. Even my brother who's 9 years older then me born in 1980 never heard of anyone in his age group bring it up. It was one of those consoles you didn't find at your KB Toys or Toys R Us or Best Buy, you had to make a mail in order and then proceed to pay $200 per cart for a game. Meanwhile SF2 was on the SNES and it only costed you around $180-$200 for the console, the game and the another controller.
That guy in the picture spent a large part of his childhood playing Sega Genesis until finally getting a GBA and Gamecube.
You couldn't even buy a Neo Geo AES in most stores. It was advertised in enthusiast magazines. It was even originally intended to be rental only. As for the MVS, you were not likely to find one in an arcade in the US as much as you were Street Fighter or something
I thought it was around middle or high school for him. But yeah he unfortunately grew up on a lot of licensed slop because his mom didn't get him games as a kid or he had to play really old shit at a relatives house like SMB3 on the NES or Genesis (which is a plus in terms of being a zoomie). I was so god damn lucky that even during Gen 4 I was able to really make it clear to grown ups to not buy third party titles adapted from shows. At most I'd rent them but almost every single time they were not worth of the Bday/Xmas gift. Unless it was Goldeneye. That game I was initially wary of because of it being a licensed game but then you heard all types of good shit about it months later and then decided to get it for xmas 97.
It was the most prolific arcade platform ever.
I can't even recall seeing an MVS ever as a kid. Meanwhile SF2 was in every damn pizza joint, 711, bowling alley, airport, laundry mat, you name it.
I got a bunch of licensed slop games but I also got the classics you get on any system. Then again I was an avid gaming magazine reader so i knew.
By chance are you Mexican? Not an insult, but it may be the reason why you think this due to how prevalent Neo Geo was down there.
To be fair for home console gaming (which is the majority of gamers nowadays) SNK is largely irrelevant outside of their collection packs. Even with Saudi bucks Fatal Fury, KOFXV and SamSho didn't make big splashes.
Ironically the only game I've seen SNK post numbers about was SNK Heroines (probably due to getting big exposure in Nintendo Direct).
Arcade SNK was innovative but most people playing arcade skip SNK pre-Neo Geo and those that did play Neo Geo usually stuck to a few titles like Metal Slug and Bust a Move.
due to how prevalent Neo Geo was down there.
Meant MVS
yes, literally every single day
Some of you guys take Anon Babble.org way too seriously.
Meant MVS
The MVS was pretty damn popular here in Canada back in the 90's and even early 2000's. I use to see the four cartridge machines all the time. Not so much, anymore, though.
What OP is actually upset about is that he consistently gets called out for shitting on games he hasn’t played because they came out before he was born. Rather than simply lose this autistic idea and try old media, he posted this thread.
Tendies are clueless about anything outside their bubble
need a cute nerdy boifren like this who will cuddle and play vidyagaymes with me :3
Because the 6th gen was objectively worse (only slightly, but still enough to be quantifiable) than the 4th generation.
every poster I don't like is the same person
unironically schizo behavior
If more zoomers were willing to enjoy older games this board would be slightly less annoying.
I was born in 1988 and was playing atari and nes as a tod
If the Jannies just put in fucking thread ID's like Anon Babble has, these type of schizos wouldn't derail.
grew up on a lot of licensed slop because his mom didn't get him games as a kid
Sounds like my experience, damn
But at least I got a few gems like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and Tomb Raider Anniversary
For some reason, Anon Babble is unable to comprehend that there are people who played games past the time they were released or was simply able to remember playing it when they were very little.
It's not like it's impossible for someone in 1999 to have "grown up" with the gamecube when they were playing it in like 2007, it's not like those games just magically disappeared off of the shelves when the next generation of consoles appeared.
it's like lower-income households or hand-me-downs don't exist to them, so bizarre
Zoomer here, actually I'm the exact same age as that faggot, 27
I actually grew up with PC and I still only play on PC to this day
He still doesn't play games though. He constantly has to tell you otherwise but it's obvious he doesn't play much.
