The unskippable "DING DONG BING BONG"+ the day number popping up add several seconds on top + the camera panning down from the monitor + the "free time" popup all add up. Even if you do all the skippable stuff the fastest you possibly can it's still a substantial amount of time when you have to repeat it over and over again and again across many routes. And it's not even the amount of time, it's the fact you have to perform repetitive actions over and over just to get to new story content which you should have the option to just skip to.

Gaku is more similar to Mikan with his attention whoring. He even admits in his bonding events that he doesn't really hate his life and just complains so someone can hear him

I’m a freak that loves everything about Danganronpa, so the morning announcement DING DONG BING BONG doesn’t phase me even after 70 hours. In general I don’t really feel any fatigue from the game or its structure. I’ve replayed the DR games multiple times, especially 1, so this is just an endless Danganronpa. I’m taking my time too. I’ve only got 2 endings, and am working on the true path right now. I’m about halfway through that one.
I know how some people loathe DR, so it’s funny to think that this game would be a fucking nightmare for them. I had trouble finishing Chaos;Child, which took 80 hours. But I’m surprised I’ve put nearly as much time into this.

But that's the flaw in judging a character based on what they could do. The "invaders" DO intend to kill you and your friends on most routes, but you discover they're not so different than you. Many routes have members of the SDU not hesitate to kill each other. How far do you think it would really take to push Ima down the Eito route if something happened to Kaku?

He wasn't keeping it together. He murdered multiple people, and sabotaged the team trying to get everyone killed multiple times. The nanosecond he feels he can get away with outright just overpowering everyone else he immediately goes for it.

Eito is actually amazing you just need to contextualize his personality and behavior a little more. It's taken to the extreme because of certain circumstance. There's sincerity to him not wanting to participate early on in the main route and being suspicious of Sirei.

Eito literally does not "behave like a model citizen." In multiple routes where he's captured, he tries to plant seeds get them to turn on each other. He's also always looking for opportunities to escape and does it in multiple routes. Also I'm pretty sure they do give him shit to do because in one route Shouma does mention giving Eito books to read and it ties into the plot, they just don't mention it because there's no point if it isn't relevant.

So there's about 20 main fully written routes, some are more serious than others. Each one usually has a handful of bad ends that can vary in length.

Some of them are alternate endings to same route. Also branches of slasher and comedy are pretty different routes despite having the same name.

If you managed to get through the game not annoyed from her 1 trick killing game line nonsense then hats off to you man. The game is just too easy in general. I wish there was a hard mode that maybe limited how much starting AP you have, because you can easily steamroll every battle in one turn, when you take advantage of everything the game gives you.
Attack potions and jump pads are especially overpowered and taking advantage of suicide attacks every wave is too easy.

It's very very tough for them to do more damage than Kako (I mean, she just does extremely high base damage, and gets the same amount of buffs as everyone else, so who do you even think can do more? MC obviously with the passive, and a charged Hiruko/Moko, but that's only a few and already harder.), and being fed hardly matters when the fight is over after you've dumped your existing potions.

You could at best put her in mid-upper tier if the potion use is that of a downer for you, but bottom tier is delusional.

I remember when I got to the fog of war map and the game instructed me to use the twins to strategically chip away at the fog machine.
And then I found out you can still use the spring trap, catapulted Eito next to the invader and instantly ended the phase.

Yes, her single target damage (when being fed items) is great, but that's really all she has going for her. as I said before other character got that too, what she really lacks is proper aoe (unless you count her self stun move, which has its obvious downsides). That fact alone makes her worse than most of the cast.

It seems kind of silly to consider an extremely powerful boss killer lowly because she's bad at things other than killing bosses. There's basically no maps in the game kako will be alone on a field; you never want or need her to be clearing mobs with aoe.

why would you use any other party member to kill bosses? just abuse voltage and use takumi or kyoshika (if you're so pussy of the fucking counter attacks) to farm voltage.

Anyway, characters with a "no movement" gimmick are always severely hurt in these types of games. It's the same reason Tsubasa is so good - movement is king.
And Kako can't move and do good damage, and then her attacks debuff the shit out of her, so she's not even very good at single target nuking and is kinda just fundamentally shit. Not useless, but largely not good.
You want to build up action economy in this game and Kako does not contribute to it AT ALL. She's just unga bunga for a single hit.

Why is Takemaru so high? Also, not that I think she should really go higher, especially since her best use requires a lot of investment, but Kurara's ult against any boss with counter is the highest damaging skill in the game. Each bomb can hit for 13 for 39 damage. I think that might have more value than 8 or 9 damage strikes a turn that Koko provides, or Moko being completely redundant. I'd argue Moko is worse than Koko and Shouma too. Doesn't do anything better than any other character or have any sort of niche that's as consistent as someone elses.

Slasher really isn't THAT bad lol. One branch is particularly entertaining. The biggest problem with Slasher it hinges all on one really bad plothole

From what I’ve seen she gets 2 routes about her the Eva route and the Box of Calamity route (a branch at least). Rather disappointingly though the Eva route is like 5 minutes long after you get on it, it skips like 20+ days when you make the decision right to the final fight then asks you to make another decision. Box of Calamity happens if you execute Eva when she surrenders, she gets so pissed when you kill her that she places a curse on the group and starts haunting Takumi.

They have a line referencing something being wrong with it when Takumi wakes up after Moko dies and he jumps out the window he asks why didn’t the drones pick her up and Tsubasa says she doesn’t know why it seems to be working properly. Maybe the “sponsor” or the thing in Takumi’s head fucked with it in that route too? They are the same type of thing after all

the combat is easy if you've played SRPGs before, and stay on top of upgrades. there is a skip option for battles you've done before (and it's such a long game you'll be doing a bunch of combat anyway), it's more a question of how much of the game you can put up with in one go.

I got Romance and then Comedy as my first two routes, no wonder I've been having second thoughts about this game.
