Well, MK8 was a complete product that they then shoehorned a bunch of mobile tracks into, but notably that one was actually paid. Everything else... yeah not so much. Splatoon 2 released with enough stuff from the start that it didn't really feel gimped and I guess Animal Crossing didn't get hit as hard by this practice but oh boy MKW definitely feels like that's what they're doing.
