Jevil is [Death/Scythe] and Spamton is [Puppet/Cat], so it seems reasonable to assume these pairs might correspond to the secret bosses. It also mentions that certain items can protect you from these pairs - the Mannequin works for Spamton's [Puppet/Cat], so the Shadow Mantle might be a similar item.
Since [Thunder/Light] is the next one Spamton lists, and "Shadow" probably protects against "Light," [Thunder/Light] could be the next secret boss's element.
That doesn't tell us much about them in itself, but one of the few Chapter 3 characters that have been prominently teased since the Spamton Sweepstakes are a weather-themed pair named Lanino and Elnina. Maybe the secret boss is themed around [Thunder/Light]ning?
To go even further into speculation, maybe Kris or Asriel were afraid of thunderstorms when they were kids, and the Shadow Mantle was an old security blanket?

Development was mired by issues regarding Toby deciding to stick with an engine that is unsuitable for the game he wants to make, but he (and the people he has working with him) is familiar with.
Future chapters likely won't incur issues regarding the limitations of gamemaker.
This post will have someone replying to assert a fairly mechanically simple 3D game asserting that the actual complexity of RPG development doesn't exist despite the primary example of someone actually trying to make something even remotely approaching the complexity of Undertale, Undertale Yellow taking 6 years to complete.

I think the Sky Mantle is an earlier version of the Shadow Mantle and Holy/Elect = Thunder/Light, Seam talking about how it should be there but it's not could be a dev joke about it being implemented but not obtainable.
The element system seems like a half-baked thing Toby came up with mid-way through Chapter 2's development and only got barebones implementation before Chapter 2 was shipped, gameplay-wise there's currently only Puppet/Cat implemented and only three enemies have it (Spamton, Tasque Manager and Tasque). You get a lot more info about elements in the enemy data with the Recruit system (also something Toby obviously didn't come up with until after Chapter 1) but for now that's all just flavor text. Seems fair to say Toby probably didn't have it all finalized before Chapter 2 was released since it's not really being properly implemented until 3+4.

I think I'm onto something with the pairs being associated with secret bosses but it also doesn't tell us much. Death/Scythe is so on the nose with Jevil that they clearly just worked backwards for it (Jevil actually has an unused Recruit page where his element is Chaos/Chaos but it feels impossible to read Spamton's explanation as anything but talking about Jevil, again showing these pairs were not and are not finalized until they're actually in the game) but Spamton is all Puppet no Cat, beyond them both being associated with string? It's impossible to predict just from this.

Some of the newsletters so far implied chapter 4 was going to be an ice world, then the trailers shifted that into a church world.
Chapter 1 - New Home and Chapter 3 - Hotland do make sense. Chapter 2 - Core is good but Queen has more elements from Toriel than Mettaton. Chapter 4 (church) - Waterfall is quite stretch, the Flower King would've made a better match. Chapter 5 should be an ice world for the sake of mirroring Snowdin if the theory was right.

I have the feeling that games which take forever and ever to get developed have an issue where the creators become dissatisfied with the parts they worked on first and end up chasing their own tails fixing shit because they've gotten better at making games than they were when they made that part.

you seem to lack understanding of how the theory works, unless there are shitty youtube videos I haven't been watching. it's never been (as least the way I've been interpreting it) an all-encompassing theory, it focuses heavily on the secret bosses and particular characters that they mirror

chapter 1 has jevil's meta "it's all a game" knife-based genocide mirroring aspects of chara
chapter 2 has the self-explanatory spamton-mettaton connection, which even touches on their shared issues about becoming so "big" they lose touch with their ghost/addison counterparts and being manipulated by the person who helped them (phone man/alphys)
if this continues then chapter 3 secret boss will embody the negative aspects of undyne and her flaws/fears (i.e. it may be an unspareable boss.) and could give a very interesting dynamic with spamton and the string puller, because undyne's love interest is alphys.
chapter 4 would be more fresh because it would be exploring gerson as a character, who was very undeveloped. his biggest thing was secret meta knowledge, which would be good for a mid-game schizo.

the easy out for toby here (and it's a great out) is to treat the lack of features in older chapters as a natural knowledge progression for the player, to avoid overwhelming with too much shit straight away. he'd just need to tidy a few things up so the chapter jumps aren't jarring, and he's set.

chapter 3 schizo boss will be unbeatable because it is undying and always revives itself at death. the only way to defeat it is to use the shadow mantle.

I mean, they probably still finds it weird to hug him. What makes me curious is how Susie, who also knew Ralsei for around the same thing, has a much stronger friendship with Ralsei. It could be some quirk of Kris's personality, but it makes me wonder if Kris knows or even just suspects something about Ralsei to keep his distance. Both Ralsei and Kris have some higher awareness of what's going on, so I wouldn't put it entirely out of the question if Kris thinks Ralsei could be compromised in some way.

Susie was really lonely and has been having a fantastic time in the Dark Worlds, Ralsei has gone out of his way to appeal to her and keep her happy (she probably appreciated Ralsei preparing a room for her a lot more than Kris), and they spent a big part of Chapter 2 bonding on their own
Aside from whatever Ralsei is talking to Kris about when we're not looking, and the fact that Ralsei is some weird doppelganger of Kris's brother, Ralsei hasn't really had bonding moments with Kris and every opportunity for that to happen is at the mercy of the player choosing to either be affectionate or pretty cruel. And rather than Ralsei doing something wrong or being offputting, it could just come down to Kris not making friends as quickly as Susie and already having history with Susie while not knowing Ralsei until yesterday.

Having objective relationship values in your story is a terrible idea and it would be a nightmare to update and track across future chapters, I'm glad and not surprised that it's being retired.

Mainstream reverse-undertale theory is about trying to match each area in undertale to a deltarune chapter in reverse order

One of my large concerns is that Toby won't be able to follow through on some of the smaller optional things in a meaningful way. For example it's absolutely crazy that if you take Noelle's watch and equip it before beating Spamton, that you can tell Noelle the "dream" was real. But it's hard to imagine there will be any significant content difference where it matters that you did this to Noelle. Similarly with whether you break Berdly's arm. I feel like Berdly just won't be a major character after chapter 2 enough for him to be doing anything.

Even thouh it's evidence, Kris has a tendancy of being really dedicated to mean pranks so that kinda gives immediate credance that she'll mostly shrug it off probably even if she's unnerved.

Chapter 3 won't have many changes in the Weird Route precisely for the sake of making Toby's work easier, it pushes the divergences to chapter 4 or 5 depending on how things play out.

It's not disabled for 0s, which you saw a 0s get and assumed it's allowed for all major gets, but it's not, newfriend.

It's easy to forget that basically everything in the Light World beyond Kris going home is completely optional. Like we take for granted that there's going to be some significant confrontation with Kris and Noelle at the church and that will probably lead to Chapter 4's Dark World, but there are some players who have never gone to the hospital and won't know who Rudy is until that happens.
Undertale pretty meticulously accounted for minor actions and choices and Deltarune has also done that so far (for example, Rudy will comment if you check the sink in his room before talking to him and acknowledge if you do it again in Chapter 2). I would expect the Normal Route and Weird Route to mostly have the same major story beats up until the Weird Route really goes off the rails, but the events might happen with significantly different context (maybe the Normal Route might have Kris open a Dark Foutnain, but in the Weird Route Noelle is emboldened - or influenced by us - to do it herself).
I'm sure there will be smaller changes within the route based on your choices and actions. Hanging out with Berdly at the festival might be more limited if his arm is in a splint. When Noelle inevitably realizes that the Dark Worlds are real, she might not be as shocked - or might freak out even more - if you already proved it to her with the watch.

I mean if it's a westerner that actually played the game that probably narrows it down. I don't really know what "is like him" would really mean.
But apparently he just disappeared without a trace and we don't even know what he looks like, just that he existed, and apparently died.

And the reason the alternatives aren't very compelling is they have almost no user base, because everyone wants to be where the talking is actually happening.

No. Again, look up the network effect. There is a bunch of crap on Youtube precisely because it is the website everybody uses. There is a fair amount of crap on Vimeo, just not a bunch of algorithm-chasing crap (I presume, I don't really use it) because Vimeo doesn't have a large enough adoption base to make that ad revenue -chasing profitable there.

You clearly understand a concept like the network effect and actual users being why people would be interested in using a website, but simultaneously you are desperately avoiding any sort of honesty about the current state of youtube and the larger core web in which you aren't at all offered a variety of content from a large volume a users but a very fine selection from a few affiliate users that are generally at best, one degree removed as employees.
Frankly I'm not sure why I'm bothering trying to discuss this with you if you can't be honest about the situation as it currently is.

Look, I'm sorry for being dismissive about the impact google search has on anything, I'm just trying to say that if google search was extremely clean and fair and with no search engine omptimization by established players, I still don't think that would change the modern dynamics very much. I don't think website searching is very important to how social media juggernauts maintain and expand their user base. People go to those websites because they know other people, especially friends/family, are already there. And once there, most never end up shopping for something else. If they do it's one of the other sites/apps they've heard of and people they know is on. But if not, many will be discouraged by the lack of activity on smaller sites. I've tried altchans for example but there's just nothing like the pace of Anon Babble to me.
