Why did the save icons in GTA look like this?

Why did the save icons in GTA look like this?

save icon.jpg - 960x496, 112.32K

Because it's an old nes cartridge, how fucking zoomer are we going to get on this platform

it's a reference to the save icon in Microsoft Word

bruh wat da skibbidi dippa mo gub dat do?

What is Microsoft Word?

You're fucking with that Anon

born 2000

grew up with stuff from the 90s and the 00s

people born 96' kept dismissing every new thing and saying their generation was the best

people born 04' didnt play anything made before 2010 because it was "clunky"

Can we make a gen "Y" in between gen X and gen Z, I dont identify with either

Floppy disks were a thing in 1992?

HAHAHA IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE ZOOMERS DON'T KNOW OLD THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, it's funny because zoomers don't know what that is.

anon has never heard of millennials

zoom zoom

too bad, you're an elder zoomer. lol

I used to have those for computer class in early primary school.
t. spic zoomer

millennials are generation y, contrary to popular belief the birth years doesn't actually touch year 2000

it's american nonsense anyway, doesn't mean much. especially these days when it's just alpha beta gamma delta epsilon...

That's a PS1 memory card

They were from even before that.

What did the slide part actually do? I was too young to understand floppy disks other than they were a thing (I was really little and liked to chew on one. I was weird).

it protects the internal disc from damage, and opens while inserted in the drive to allow access to the reader

it covers the spinning film, the tape inside isn't a hard plastic and very fragile. The mechanism opens the slide and when it ejects it closes.

Somewhere in a landfill exists a floppy with my hand drawn MS Paint comic book

Super Monkey is out there fighting crime somewhere...

This is actually good bait, I almost fell for it

wordma balls

Millennials are people that experienced the beginning of the new millennium.
A baby isn't even aware that he is alive so that's why they made it like that.

it should have been a safe since it's similar to save

I'm 31 and floppy disks were already getting phased out by CDs when I became aware
how old are you people?

I'm 33 and in middle school I was still using a floppy disc to save and move around my school work documents. Flash drives existed but at the time were a bit too expensive and easy to lose

2000 is zoomer
1996 is zillennial

millenials are what used to be called gen Y

It's kino

I'm a tiny baby and I have little baby opinions

goo goo gaa gaa

This is what you sound like.

fun fact despite being an old ass boomer I never knew what the whole "slide" function on the metal part at the top of the floppy disks was for. A friend used to say if you slide it it wipes the disk's data but that never happened.

I never knew what the whole "slide" function on the metal part at the top of the floppy disks was for.

How come? It's so obvious!

lmao

prequel to microsoft on god

Is there even anything good to replace floppy disks with as a near-universal "save" symbol? Could've been download icons if it, well, wasn't used as download icons imo.

pretty sure its just a protective cover. When you insert the disk it gets slid back allowing the laser to read the disk

The future won't even have the concept of saving data as we do today. It will be just links to your documents on the cloud which can be taken away from you at any time

Can we make a gen "Y" in between gen X and gen Z, I dont identify with either

no, honestly just abandon the idea of "generations" altogether.
its just a lazy tactic the media uses to start infighting between age groups so people are distracted from the actual problems in society.

its why half of every newspaper was "Millennials did XYZ" for like 10 years there.

40.
I still kept important data like university assignments and papers on floppy discs right up to about 2003 or so.
then I got a zip drive, the fucking unitaskers of data storage

Hard drives are still going to exist for at least 20 years. We've seen Stadia, hard drives aren't going anywhere yet

just like my penis

38. I still have my old copy of sim city 2000 on floppy.

27
Some of my earliest memories are of my family's Win98 PC, my dad had floppies around the house but even back then we mostly used CDs
I still have my grandad's old floppy drive in my closet

Because back than we used to save our Microsoft Word files from school on floppy disk.

need to enter a code to overwrite a savefile
