I will no longer be content with moe anime crap about teenagers killing god filled with japanese "humor", and the same tired cliches.

I will no longer be content with having to go to the new village and talk to every Tom, Dick, and Harry in order to arbitrarily advance the plot.

I want grounded and realistic characters with mature stories. I want bosses that make my jaw drop. I want enemies that are unique and memorable. I want combat that challenges me and makes me think. I want vistas that are breathtaking. I want an overworld full of things to do and places to see. I want a story that will bring tears to my eyes and that I will think about for years.

I just can't go back to the same tired lame Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and SaGa after playing this.

E33 is fine but it's a very spiritually ugly game. Extremely defeated ethics that aren't even confident enough to present as cynical. What can you expect from a defeated people like the French, though? "Grounded and realistic" doesn't have to mean miserable and angry and vindictive. Everyone in this story is unpleasant and I don't care what happens to any of them.

But none of this caused me to drop it. What did made me chuck it into the trash was the horrifying UI which makes all the rest seem decent in comparison

I enjoyed this a lot but it still had flaws. Too easy to break after dmage cap goes away. The skill tree ends up being shallow once you realize what the best skills and builds are. Dungeons look nice but are Skyrim tier in design. The overworld is too linear and the areas that are just a single room with a record are really unsatisfying. I have mixed feelings on the story. I think the act 3 revelations are kind of lame just because it invalidates Gustave, Sciel and Lune and the expeditions in their entirety.
