theyre very light games that are lab engineered to be as addictive as possible. This doesnt come from the gacha, no the addictive properties come from artificially induced sunk cost and fomo. Things are time gated so you get sunk cost asap, stretching a day's worth of gameplay over like a month through stamina systems. When you hit the arbitrary gacha material wall you will have hopefully spent enough time that you stick around to see the arbitrary stat check wall as a challenge to be overcome, and you attribute the several month's worth of wasted time doing busy work as a time investment.

When that happens and you dont drop is when the gacha has got you, because then you are more likely to spend money on the gacha and upgrade materials. And when a gacha character you like comes around you dont want to be caught with your pants down and no materials or rolls do you? So pay up and catch up to day 1 players (they were playing the longest and thus least affected by the timegating).

By the time you realize how much time you wasted and how little fun you are having is when you notice the deception.

The trick is that nearly all gacha also give free currency. How generous a game is varies game to game, but some games can be played entirely f2p. The majority of gacha don't have much in the way of PvP elements either, so there isn't a large meta incentive to max out a character aside from waifufaggotry. This is the secret behind why gacha are able to get away with practices that TCGs can't.

TCG gacha like Yugioh and Pokemon also have a bunch of little tricks even moreso than traditional gacha. In the case of TCG gacha, the trick isn't nickel and diming normal players who are just there for the PvP. In fact, most reasonable TCG gacha don't require any money at all to build a perfectly meta main deck and a few pet decks. No, what's really gonna hurt your wallet is if you're a collector, a completionist. TCG gacha typically have recycling elements, but this is explicitly designed to only benefit pure PvP players. It doesn't benefit collectors nearly as much, and having a perfect collection is definitely gonna cost you a pretty penny.

When there are 1/2/3/4 Hydro or Cryo characters in the party, Escoffier will decrease the Hydro RES And Cryo RES of any opponents hit by her Elemental Skill or Burst by 5%/10%/15%/55% for 12s.

While there's a small benefit for using just three Hydros/Cryos, the buff for the fourth is over 3x that of just three.

It's kind of ironic that prices of real games keep going up and up and up while gacha games still have the same pricing model for premium currency. Even old ass ones that have been around for 7+ years haven't technically raised prices. They just make it more Pay 2 Win.

Everything is going up because they want to earn as much as gacha game devs, they make millions a month for years and years with very little effort. Regular devs refuse to lower their standards by making gacha so have been trying to think of other ways to gouge players wallets and price hiking games/consoles/accessories is now their plan and they're using a controversial american leader as their scapegoat to trick consumers into thinking it's someone else's fault and that the regular game/console devs are to blame

I'd imagine there's two reasons. The first is that the pricing model for purely digital services have always been arbitrary. There's no particular reason why a single roll has to be like $3 other than that's just the maximum amount of money companies think they can get away with.

The other reason is that consumers do have some degree of awareness of this, so changing the price of rolls isn't gonna go over well and companies know that. In general, the price of rolls can't go up because consumers the current prices are more or less at the very limit of what they're willing to pay.

I remember in the first few months genshin updated the regional prices for russia, brazil and other shitholes and that caused a bit of a controversy

Additionally, a business kept afloat almost entirely by a handful of whales isn't gonna benefit by raising the overall prices. The downside to being so reliant on a relatively smaller number of people is that companies can't actually afford to completely bankrupt those retards. And raising the prices of rolls is only gonna make f2ps even LESS interested in paying.
