Morrowind chads won

Morrowind chads won

having to play bethesdaslop is not a win in any universe

Daily Morrowind General thread finally. Link to the last thread?

hope they stop pussying out and actually implement cool slavery stuff when the Dres content starts releasing

You lost tranny

What's the point of all this when you can turn yourself into a god the moment you reach Balmora mage's guild?

I'm not at war with schizophrenic transphobes

It's not a general but here is a link to a good Tamriel Rebuilt thread from yesterday.

Not until old ebonheart runs decently

Grasping Fortune was in development for 7 years

How long til WBM is done? New landscapes and towns are beautiful but I’m tired of House Hlaalu

Is your role in the new Hlaalu quests that of an outlander, or is it more agnostic? I know the voicelines will refer to me as an outlander anyways, but it's important for what kind of (Dunmer) character I'm gonna play.

You can't expect good performance on the same computer you used for the original release of Morrowind, bro!

Mournhold not even theoretically in the plans

Almalexia by 2040

I refuse to believe anyone is actually playing this considering how shit the optimization and performance is. TR is unplayable.

Skill issue

There is almost nothing to do on the streets, just move between buildings ok

it runs on 60fps if you don't install any other mod and disable distant land completely

I get 60 fps in Old Ebonheart on my machine from 2014, are there any areas that are more taxing that I should be aware of?

It's not a competitive shooter brother ~50 fps isnt that big of a deal

oh no I had to hit ACTIVATE on that door TWICE!!!!!

SAVE ME TODD AIIIIEEEEEEEE

Get a grip on yourself lol

how do you mod openmw? is it still mo2 + the openmw plugin?

Yep

How did the Imperials put the entire continent into the Empire? At no point does it seem like they have actual control and instead are just allied to local powers.

I'll install TR after I get back home, guys finally shilled me.
What are some essential mods? I have never played Morrowind before.

Wait until you realize the Empire had Dunmer queen dowagers and a Dunmer empress. Or that most Legion recruits are from Skyrim, not Cyrodiil

Because Imperials are the only tryhards having a professional army while the other kingdoms are content by having their local shit with armies of 50 plebs and 10 knights with 5 wizards

dont install TR or any other mods if it's your first playthrough desu
TR is big enough that doing 1/4 of it will get you do max level, it will fuck up the balance of the main game

Morrowind specifically is a very autonomous territory in the Empire because the Tribunal signed a treaty with Tiber Septime early and handed him the Numidium without having to really fight or conquer Morrowind, they kept their own rulers and great houses and just let legions stay in Morrowind forts.
That's why Morrowind's status is in limbo in the Fourth Era and after the Great War, the only symbol of Imperial authority in the region was legions, but all legions were pulled out of Morrowind and moved west, yet House Redoran didn't declare unilateral independence like the Argonians

Anyone else playing Project Cyrodiil? I installed it a couple days ago, it's not bad at all.

Have you dealt with the Brotherhood of Steel yet?

Yeah
Finished Kingdom of Anvil and Thieves Guild quests and cleared absolutely all dungeons and it was pretty fun
Really enjoyed the underwater content, there's a pretty big cave at the bottom of the ocean with a really nice sword. I really don't think it's possible to find it without a map, i've had trouble finding it even with it

Yes. I only looked around a bit though, because mainland Morrowind itself is fucking huge and it's just taking the piss to go there too.

Doing my first playthrough. I want to min/max as little as possible and just be immersed in the game. Is there anything I should know so I don't shoot myself in the foot?

thats actually the coolest part
i left vvardenfell at about lvl 2 and never went back

Even if you don't want to use mods, get one that delays the Dark Brotherhood from attacking you. Otherwise you get some ninja faggot trying to kill you half the time you go to bed, and the quest surrounding that assumes you're near the end of the main quest.
Otherwise have fun. Let us know what class and race you went for.

I've read that stealth-based characters aren't really viable, so I might go with a magic build. Anything to know about the MW magic system?

im on a craptop too
just get rid of distant lands. runs smooth af

you guys should definitely vary the OP so it doesn't look like a general, sorta thinning the line here.

This is also the plan for this character. I'm grabbing the documents for CIA McSkooma, dropping them in the ocean somewhere, getting a little bit of money to pay for boat rides in Seyda Neen then I'll be fucking off to Old Ebonheart and I won't be returning.
I'm not the Nerevarine, I'm just some faggot the senile Emperor set free by mistake.

Never tried OpenMW because I never felt like I had a reason to. MWSE has never really crapped out on me. Genuine question, but are there any cool mods specific to OpenMW or anything specific to the platform that's worth another playthrough on?

Magic is very good, you might want to use the Fair Magicka Regen mod because otherwise your magicka bar is annoying to replenish.
Alchemy is straight up broken. Early on you'll think it's ok at best, but later on you can make godlike potions that can break the game en-masse. I'm talking stuff like boosting your INT to silly levels so you can make retarded potions that boost your stats to the thousands for real world hours at a time.
Naturally you don't have to do this, but if you're inclined you can RP some archmage Lich king.

This. Distant lands is the problem. My new machine can handle it, but before then I was playing without DL and other than the low draw distance Old Ebonheart ran fine on a 10 year old barely working budget laptop.

boomers thought this was acceptable 20 years ago

Cool. Unrelated, but what's a good newbie-friendly Great House to join? Is one better than the other in terms of lore/worldbuilding?

It's not a competitive shooter brother ~50 fps isnt that big of a deal

thank you lol
even people talking about 30-40 fps like it's literally unplayable makes me roll my eyes. I used to get single digit fps in certain cities in WoW back in the day. I would have killed for 30 fps in dungeons and raids. people are so spoiled. like obviously people's standards are different today, especially playing old games you expect them to run without a hitch. but still it's not that bad. if it dropped under 30 I'd consider it a real problem, but it rarely even gets that low.

pick your main weapon as a major
pick your main armor as a major
if you wanna be quick or jumpy put athletics or acrobatics in there somewhere
enchant is a good skill to have as a surrogate for actually being a mage, as it massively increases the amount of charges you have on your items.

magic spell chance is heavily dependent on WIL so make sure you lvl up both WIL and INT if youre a mage
melee and ranged chance-to-hit is similarly heavily dependent on you AGI, so make sure you level that up some too if youre a melee or ranged fighter
good birthsigns are, generally speaking, the ones that give stat buffs like lover, lady, or are signs that boost your magicka, ie mage apprentice or atronach dont do atronach your first time

dunmer is jack of all trades race
redguard nords and orcs are best melee race, in that order
altmer, breton for mage
bosmer, argonian, khajiit for rogue
any race can be anything, but these ones come with attribute and skill bonuses that synergize well with their class

If gachas and yugioh can have actual generals I think this should be ok

Doing Hlaalu quests in Narsis

All quests are social and don't require combat

Fuck you and go clear out an entire dungeon of evil ghosts

I have no idea how to deal with this at the moment
They just one hit me
That's just not something I was expecting

microscopic ui size

Cring

not really
openMW might run a bit better on a newer machine, and vanilla on the opposite
it hardly matters desu

load up on some powerful scrolls or something

Is it timed quest? Return later?

diff fag
but for the love of talos dont install regenning magicka. thats so gay
magic is already fucking broken
having to use a potion once every once in a while during battle is one of the only things keeping it even slightly in check

great houses are generally based on the basic archetype character triad
redoran -> warrior
hlaalu -> rogue
telvanni -> mage
just talk to them and see if its a good fit. theyll tell you the "requirements". if youre not good in 1 or 2 of those skills, its not a great fit

fanfiction

winning anything

I wonder what the archetypes of Dres and Indoril are, I can guess Cleric or Crusader for Indoril, not sure about Dres

what's the lore behind there being Chimer still around?

There are still Chimer? I thought Vivec stayed half and half because Vivec and his need to be quirky, and Ayem made herself Chimer again because vanity, but outside of the Tribunal "gods" I thought they were all Dunmer now.

Some Chimer migrated to the Padomeic archipelago of Cathnoquey and seemingly didn't get affected by Azura's curse for whatever reason. Believe it or not, it's actually not TR-original lore, but rather from the Pocket Guide to the Empire 2nd Edition, an out of game series of texts by Kirkbride and co.

but for the love of talos dont install regenning magicka. thats so gay

I mostly recommended it for a pure wizard. If your only defense is magic it can suck being powerless at a bad moment, especially early on when you cast a few spells and you're exhausted.

I'll play TR but I can't decide on a build. I can't choose between a rogue/agent, imperial loyalist legionnaire or a redoran/templar character, which one would be the best for TR content?

I hate mages so much, you wouldn't believe it.

If you don't have regenning magicka, you'll just use Alchemy to brew a billion restore magicka potions to chug during combat anyways so I don't really see the issue with it.

the latest content is Hlaalu so a rogueish character that is pro-Empire is probably the best to explore all that

runs at 120 on my machine

Mod slop, thr game was soul when released. This is just soulless slop

We know Todd

Indoril is Crusader, Dres is Spellsword

neat
don't know why Azura would spare them when she scarred everyone to mark them for the Tribunal's betrayal of their oath, but canon is canon

Probably because she's still bimbo-brained like in Daggerfall and kinda forgot.

canon is canon

lol

Nobody is afraid of a faggot, faggot

slop slop slop

Do I fit in yet?

Narsis arena is weak as fuck

Are there any good graphic mods? I've got a 4k monitor and it's not supported native.

downloaded openmw, got a graphic overhaul modlist, and kept the original draw distance. i'll get shit on for using a modlist but openmw makes it easy and i'm lazy

Just play the vanilla game to start to see how you like it. No amount of mods can fix you just not liking morrowind if thats the case.

No amount of mods can fix you just not liking morrowind

a leveling mod like MULE or NCGDMW can fix a lot of the complaints people have

I prefer that they be filtered myself.

what's wrong with MW leveling and how do mods fix it?

This thread is clearly more for morrobabbies than morrochads.

Honestly the game is alright but the combat is too jank for me.

Is Dagoth Ur Fleshed Out worth using?

this dude having voice acting really caught me off guard

what's wrong with MW leveling

Doing it wrong can leave you too weak to survive late game (health gain from Endurance isn't retroactive).
Doing it right will make you overpowered quickly and diminish the differences between characters you make.

how do mods fix it?

Those linked above remove the manual leveling system replacing it with an automated version. It's harder to become OP and virtually impossible to fuck it up.
The only bad part about it is that you miss out on the level up messages which are a nice touch.

I don't think ive ever heard someone complain about being too weak in morrowind other than level 1 shitters.

UESP isn't updated yet

come on, bruh
it's been... 5 days

Can anyone explain? what the fuck is this?

Did you have to hyperventilate and take a xanax to calm down?

a bonewalker

Nerevar body

Yeah, because everyone is told to level Endurance and/or have it high at game start.
There's a good reason why a lot of people swear by the Lady sign.

It says right there dude.

my ancestor...

No dude even people who play the game blind. There are plenty of ways to become strong/overpowered in morrowind. More health is nice but not necessary.

Well, what SHOULD I have as major/minor skills? My main weapon/armor? Does it matter beyond that if I don't want to min/max?

Does TR fix medium armor being absolutely dogshit or is it still an exercise in futility to go for them?

there is more of them

just getting to 70-80 endurance by lvl 5 is enough. I don't even think that's too neccesary if you're actually enchanting and making potions regularly.

Just pick skills you use
You become absurdly powerful very easily in Morrowind without minmaxxing
I'm getting pissed off in Narsis because 90% of the armor I find is medium

But the Nerevarine existing means that Nerevar's soul shouldn't be in that bonewalker body

The Nerevarine doesn't exist.
You are not a reincarnation, you're just a guy that crossed items off a checklist.

Don't listen to this temple shill.

He believes Nerevarine is a reincarnation of Nerevar

lol
lmao

As a generalization, no, it doesn't matter. You can train all the skills up to the max just by spending gold so any (skill related) mistake done in character creation can be corrected.
If you're new it's a good idea to start with the skills you want to use the most as major, maybe even better if you get also a bonus to one or some of those skills from your race. Having a poor weapon skill is how you get to those bait webm of anons failing to kill a mudcrab.

so how big is narsis? is it the hlaalu capital, after all.

even the animated-yet-sentient corpse of nerevar suggests that the nerevarine is a false messiah, bold inclusion

Azura wouldn't lie

who says that it's Nerevar's soul in there?

just getting to 70-80 endurance by lvl 5 is enough

That's exactly what I meant.
Imagine, if you will, playing any of the race/sex combinations who start with 30 END, not having a bonus to END from your class and just ignoring it because you aren't naturally increasing any of the END skills.

enchants a ring with 1-40 Fortify Endurance

It does nothing. Not your your HP, at least.
Not when your wear it nor when you level up with it.

She clearly would, you literally meet a bunch of people she also said were reincarnations of Nerevar yet clearly died and failed and have their own souls as part of the main quest

They have their own souls because they weren't the reincarnation, obviously

Everything that occurred at Red Mountain was a clusterfuck, likely due to a dragonbreak. So even if you subscribe to the Nerevarine prophecy the idea that Nerevar was reincarnated but might also inhabit a bonewalker isn't that far-fetched.

Does Tamriel Rebuilt have any sources of Fortify Skill spells, or did they decide that it's too OP to make constant effect skill boosting items?

Does the Endurance you get from the Lady sign apply to your health and when you level up?

one hit of skooma and it's smooth sailing, muthsera

Just go around Vvardenfell's towns picking them up. With mages guild teleportation it shouldn't take long at all.

Yes, that's the only exception to the rule.
It's otherwise only the base endurance which is used in the formula.

As cool as Dragonbreaks are, I fucking hate how they're used constantly in the lore. It's "a wizard did it", for a setting where the actual wizards have limitations.

Fortify SKILL, not attribute.

Bigger than any city in any bethesda game most likely.

How do you know azura told them that and they didn't just hear the prophesy and get the idea themselves?

There's some in solstheim.

At no point does it seem like they have actual control and instead are just allied to local powers.

That's mostly how imperialism works. Star Wars has just brainwashed you into thinking an empire is just a big evil nation-state.

Narsis is probably 20x bigger than Whiterun in Skyrim

I don't even get how people complain about 30-40 fps. It's standard and most screens don't go over 60 fps (60hz) anyways. Mostly only sweaty fat nerds care about high fps.

Star Wars has just brainwashed you into thinking an empire is just a big evil nation-state.

It's all because the US broke away from an empire so therefore anything related to empires in their stories is bad and evil. Even though they ARE the current empire and don't see the irony.

you can already buy a slave in Tamriel Rebuilt

Whos the worst daedric prince and why is it redditorath?

Wait until you realize the Empire had Dunmer queen dowagers and a Dunmer empress.

I just got done raiding her tomb and got this artifact short sword off a spirit that will probably last me the entire playthrough, Old Ebonheart had a well done thieves guild questline.

This.
Maybe it's because until recently I've had shit systems that can barely run games, but playing something that at worst only goes down to 30 fps is fucking great to me.
Hell, my last machine took a while on loading and made Morrowind really jerky and weird to play with TR installed. Having Distant Land active AND playing TR AND the cities not being a slideshow is wonderful. That said, any optimizations will be a good thing.

Oblivion really fucked him over. His dialogue is lolsorandumXD shit and he looks soi as fuck. Guy may as well be a Marvel character.

dude le ebin spork of d0000m! xDDDD

Yeah, no. He's wacky in Daggerfall too.

He was already cringe memelord in Morrowind, revisionist

XD KILL THE NETCH WITH T3H F0RK 0F D00M!!111!

how big is the map with TR, PC, SHoTN installed in comparison to vanilla Oblivion or Skyrim?

missing that much

imagine not being able to understand the concept of number go up

How the fuck does Uriel Septim keep getting magic dreams that foretell the future again
Like in Morrowind specifically you would think Azura gave them to him considering that's part her gimmick but he keeps getting them

Mysticism

From a worshipper standpoint?

Azura

Just wants your eternal love and worship and she'll be just as loyal as you are. Not too bad.

Boethiah

He/She is a rough one who is cruel and wants bloodshed so will probably end up having you fight to the death with other followers for his/her entertainment.

Clavicus

Just make sure you read the fine print.

Hermaeus Mora

You'll probably end up an eternal prisoner seeking more and more forbidden knowledge or be driven mad.

Hircine

A hoonter must hoont. If you accept that and are cool with being a furry, worship might not be that bad.

Malacath

An Orcish thug. I can't imagine why you'd worship him unless you're goblinkin.

Dagon

If you want to violently overthrow the current order of things and bring about change, this is the guy to worship, I guess.

Mephala

Good to spies and murderers.

Meridia

Good for undead-slayers, but she won't give a single fuck about you unless you're doing that.

Molag Bal

Bro hates you and only wants to make you his slave bitch to torture and rape for all eternity.

Namira

For the diseased and cannibals.

Nocturnal

I'm honestly not even sure what she does besides being liked by witches and thieves.

Peryite

Same as above with the added twist of his role changing like every other game.

Sanguine

If you want to fuck, get drunk, do drugs, or being a prankster douchebag, worship of him is a good time.

Sheogorath

I don't know why you'd worship him. He's wacky and insane.

Vaermina

She is evil, wants you to be evil, and deals in nightmares.

Molag Bal is probably the worst.

I did Cold War political studies as part of my degree and anti-imperialism was deliberately used as a rhetorical device to demolish the Brit/French empires, principally via the blue water principle which got Soviet/Chinese support for obvious reasons. At the time actual US policymakers were being told post-Suez that 'we have an empire now, we'd best learn how to run it'. Empires still exist, atlases just don't include maps of them, and the equivalence with which sites like wikipedia present empires and countries means public models of thought simply equate empires to large states filled with oppressed minorities.

Vvardenfell alone is near the same size as Oblivion and Skyrim's maps so you can do the math based on Morrowind as a whole.

file.jpg - 713x768, 307.57K

How's the Total Overhaul modpack for OpenMW?

7282621.png - 680x709, 417.88K

It was bigger even before the last update
The scale is completely different

Vvardenfell alone is near the same size as Oblivion and Skyrim's maps

No it isn't.

I'm actually really interested in how Project Tamriel/Tamriel Rebuilt explores some of the long term consequences of dragonbreaks. Abecean Shores makes mention of brass-eating Numidium cultists whose minds were damaged by the Warp in The West (you actually meet one in the heretical book club quest) and High Rock is apparently full of toxic wastelands with warped creatures.

They practically had their own dragonbreak with old ebonheart.

Another day of being a comfy medium armour chad.

yes but there were several unironic tranny modders involved in the project saying shit like "uuh house dres has things beyond slavery we should focus on that!"

proof?

>Meridia

Why does a Daedric prince even care about undead anyways? Aren't they just reanimated corpses? The soul is gone right.

I'm going to install this just so I can wear the dreugh armor

Crab people.png - 1469x918, 1.49M

it was real in my mind

Sure, sure.
Focusing on slavery for Dres would be boring regardless. Good if that what you see them doing most of the time, but the faction quests themselves should tackle more interesting topics than "plz go buy new farm tools".

roughly 2/3 of skyrim desu.

if anything no magicka regen will make you more OP in the long run because you'll keep leveling alchemy to brew ever more powerfull magicka potions

Recently started, it's pretty cool. A bit on the small side however.

2025

people still giving (you)s and attention to anyone who talks about "tranny modders" in Bethesda threads

I would have though you would have learned by now that it's always lies because they just want to try to start crusades against modders they don't like.
It's the same retards who run that watchdog twitter account for harassing the TR/PT team.

watchdog twitter account for harassing the TR/PT team.

qrd? what miserable fool would want to torpedo the project?

Proofs?

can I like update my current game to use the new TR releases, or would that ruin a save game?

"Anti-woke" bullshit, as usual.

an anon yesterday talked about disabling regular leveling completely to use only trainers, what mod does that?

You might run into issues around things that were changed since the last release, but new areas typically don't cause any issues.

Fan. Fiction. Like Enderal or Fallout London. In a word garbage.

I mean, i think he's kinda right insofar as there were a few modders who thought that they should have other gimmicks beyond just slavery and who voiced the opinion that having them do comically evil shit like making their whips out of Argonian claws was too silly to be believable, which is a sorta understandable opinion to have i guess even if i personally disagree with it.

Based.

What honest and legal methods of earning gold would you recommend?
I hit a wall and I'm fucking broke

Selling filled soul gems

Selling equipment you loot from solstheim.

Selling well earned loot taken from Telvanni lords.

Kill khajiit

Dres are the primary slavers in Morrowind, but they are also the biggest proponents of unity among the great houses, and also still maintain the old practices of daedra and ancestor veneration. Dres content should be the obvious slavery but also tensions between themselves and the Tribunal Temple

Soul gems sell extremely well, but you have to get creative in order to get their actual value from vendors (ex. enchant an item and then use the gold you spend on the enchantment to offload your other items)

But who will you sell your hot items, moon sugar and skooma to if you kill them?

I thought they were isolationists that wanted nothing to do with the other Great Houses similar to Indoril after the armistice.

has there been any discussion of doing vvardenfell? doesn't even have to be an overhaul, just polishing the weaker elements

For anyone who picks up the quest just east of Narsis to find the dead merchant's ring, it's in the rocks just to the left of him. I finally had to tcl around with a detect enchantment spell to find that shit. That's two quests in Narsis where you have to search for a tiny ring on a floor of the same color.

I don't know much about money making. I just think khajiit should be killed

Fuck it
I fucking hate this character
He can't do shit except for being a massive faggot
I fucking hate Hlaalu
Rest in piss
I'm gonna reroll to something less faggy

They'd need assistance if lizards attacked.

They were Dunmer isolationists that wanted nothing to do with the Empire, but they still believed in maintaining unity within Morrowind.

Touching Vvardenfell even lightly creates headaches for every other modder having to worry about compatibility. TR already had to put out a map outlining where they won't ever build so that other projects know they won't get fucked over later. I'd like them to give it a shot at some point, but it would have to be a fully optional mod.

Solstheim has been done by someone else I think.

Imagine not being able to make even the crappiest build work in a game this easy.

join the thieves guild

youre not even tryyyiinnngg

what the fuck kind of ui is that

???

anyone actually tried being a vampire yet?
how much of the new areas does it lock you out of? or is it just like vanilla where basically only telvanni and some mages guild will even talk to you?

You don't like the mmo style?

There used to be the Heart of the Velothis project which started in 2020 and released a gnisis region overhaul, got restarted as "Star-Wounded East" in 2023 with a less ambitious goal of making vvardenfell more mountainous (on par with the mountains of TR) but this was put on hold a year ago.
nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/47978

And yeah tomb of the snow prince exists for solstheim.

diff fag but mmos are my aesthetic enemy

Right this.
(Hammerfell is probably in preliminary dev by now)
OAAB is Melchiordark's project, it's still being slowly worked on, it's not supposed to be a total overhaul tho.

projects.jpg - 7186x3436, 3.7M

I never played daggerfall or arena, but why are some people so hyped for Blacklight when TR does the Redoran areas, what's so special about that city?

Are there any comfy houses/settlements that you can acquire and upgrade in TR? I love the Raven Rock questline in Bloodmoon for that aspect.

I don't really follow the community, so I don't know why others are, but back in the day when TR released a preview mod of their unfinished lands, Blacklight was by far one of the coolest locations.

House Redoran's capital city

what's PI

When the hell did TR say they would do blackmarsh?

Padomaic Isles
It's hosted on PT's site IIRC

i think the seekrit thieves guild hideout in a dwemer ruin in bal foyen is pretty comfy, once you get all the upgrades for it.
its only for theives guild tho. could definitely use more shelves too
its a great spot tho since youre a hop skip and a jump from both TR and vvardenfell

is that like akavir or something?

worth installing or is it still preproduction?

Hard to say if it will still look exactly like that when they get around to finishing it.

sometimes I wonder if they should just make their own rpg in openmw

It's since been switched to P:T so that everything is under the same umbrella once TR is finished.

It's three islands you can see on that map that lie in the Padomaic Ocean
Preproduction

I guess

It's the capital of redoran who are generally considered one of the two coolest houses

subsequent lore elevated its importance since it's the capital of morrowind by skyrim

it's got a long history of development in TR since the first months after release and got 3 redesign that each were generally liked at their respective time, it's comparable to almalexia or necrom for that

Blacklight.jpg - 1431x2184, 2.35M

prob best suited for Anon Babble, but what era of Morrowind would be best suited for a TTRPG?

Can't wait Necrom's next redesign. That city sucks

Sounds like they're going to try to keep the overall feel, but fix what was impractical about the layout. Either way, TR's content has only improved since that preview so I have faith it'll be cool, whatever it is.

Fuck, that's some good looking shit at the bottom.

It's funny that Necrom in ESO aped it's aesthetic from TR Blacklight and Necrom.

Probably early third age if you just want a generic morrowind campaign.

Does tamriel rebuilt include all of these areas?

Seriously?

Reminds me of Riven

era of Morrowind

There's some interest bits in the 4E like Hlaalu losing their Great House status, for example. I personally think any era would be interesting because TES lore is so crazy.

Rats.

Look at me.
I am the rat now.
Ilu-Shuma Egg Mine if anyone wants the location.

We don't really know much about 4E Morrowind besides it being turbofucked by the Red Mountain and vengeful Argonians, do we?

Yes. One of the Narsis Mages Guild quests sends you to a stronghold to assist some cunt. He sells fortify skill spells (I think they cost 511 drakes).

Works on my machine faggot

Time to upgrade Jeet! Microsoft doesn't provide better pcs?

how will PT handle Falinesti walking around?

Weak bait.

eh, ESO Necrom has a bit of similarities with TR Necrom, but they're clearly both inspired from Morrowind's architecture and the single mention in the lore of the city having "lofty walls and white towers"

have hundreds of thousands of drakes

nothing to spend them on

every time

If OpenMW is FOSS then what's stopping someone from forking it with MWSE support?

Somehow ESO Necrom has less quests than TR Necrom

Are you going to give me your machine for free? It not, shut the fuck up.

tribalism

Probably a fuckton of work.

No faggot. Maybe you should get a job. Or stop being a third world nigger :^)

The morrowind engine was never designed to have a draw distance farther than vanilla.

Morrowind mainland map now parallel to Anvil

I made a pure mage for this update. No weapon skills whatsoever, but did give him unarmoured and athletics/acrobatics to level up and speed up the movement as the game progresses.
I haven't played a pure mage in a while, but it's a good time so far.

Morrowind1.jpg - 1920x1080, 601.05K

There are tons of slave quests where you can interrogate, break, and prostitute slaves on their masters behalf.

I thought I was the only one in these threads obsessed with roleplaying a Dunner House Dres slaver

Draw distance doesn't effect the performance in OE like people think it does, the problem is everything is crammed into like 2 cells and the engine can't handle it.

Both of you better be on the quest writing team when the time comes.

how do i make a hand-to-hand character less boring

When the fuck are they gonna put mounrhold exterior? it was my biggest lame of tribunal you go to an isolated city following the orders of a mad hoe that was your ex

canon House Dres would only let you in as a saltrice-picking slave because you're an outlander

Is Morrowind mage gameplay fun, or is it magicka potion simulator? Oblivion and Skyrim had their faults but I liked how the former had custom spellmaking and the latter had dual wielding spells. Does Morrowind have anything unique and fun?

The TR team plans on completely remaking Mournhold after trying a few times already and almost killing the project, they also said that's coming last.

Who knows.
I wish they had the balls to remake Tribunal entirely. Even the worst TR content is leagues ahead of that shit expansion.

Pretty good. Played it a bit this year
Changes the game completely
Nukes the most common exploits but its morrowind so there's always something to exploit
I'd say 8 to 9/10, will play again

neat tricks openmw can do that you wish were used more?

What's with zoomgroids outside of Anon Babble depicting Azura as this big titty goth uwu mommy in modern fanart of morrowind, zoomers are so fucking cringe

They've said for fucking ever that they're doing it last you retard.

You have outdated information. They’ve said since the Narsis development went so well that they’re ready to tackle it again and are working on it now.

If TES was a modern setting, you could expect to get a phone call from a someone calling themselves something like Ragnar Snowbeard or Marcus Pentilius or something but on the other line there'd be some Dunger in Morrowind trying to swindle you out of your septims.

Nerevar became a bonewalker after his death. The mask hides his missing face, and his feet are definitely artificial.

Where did they say that?

"legit" mage

It's okay. Superior to its Oblivion counterpart due to more freedom in the spellmaker (mostly due to early access to it), but nothing to be impressed about. Hybrids, at least to me, are more interesting.

legit (alchemy abusing for INT/WIS pots) mage

Infinite magicka and maxxed out spell magnitude level of broken. Feels cheesy but you're still sort of restrained by animations.

enchanted items user """mage"""

Broken. Magic but without trivial concerns like raising your magic skills or giving a fuck about magicka. Casting animations? lel

Hey I am a zoomer retard can anyone explain me what's all this?
And Is it any good if I like kcd and Skyrim?
Looks pretty interesting

And Is it any good if I like kcd and Skyrim?

Not really.

Morrowind spellmaking is the best in the series.
There are magicka regen mods if you're worried about running out of mana.

This is horseshit. I liked the not knowing, that was the whole point. Nobody knows what happened at red mountain, nobody knows if you truly are a reincarnation of nerevar. Fuck this. At this point why not just outright say what happened at red mountain fuck it.

Its morrowind
It's closer to something like BG3 or Pathfinder but with an open world

Reddit moment.
It literally says on the back of the Morrowind box you are the Chosen One and the Nerevarine. In literary terms, that's called Word of God.

post examples

If I'm just looking for a proper roleplay playthrough without intentionally trying to break the game, or am I better off going pure "legit" mage or spellsword?

I like bg3.
I just wanna know what's the deal with this TR mod and how much it adds to the base game and should i give it a go if like other immersive rpgs

Just try playing vanilla Morrowind for a couple hours to see if you even like the game first.

i will say that personally magic skills level too slowly for my taste and mage's guild quests usually don't pay in gold, it is not a bad experience though.

TR doesn't make this morrowind any more like skyrim or kcd so I don't know why you'd even say that.

how much it adds to the base game

Easily doubles the amount of content, probably more than that
Just try vanilla Morrowind

Yes

Alright thanks.
I'll check it out.

To explain it in a way you'd understand:
Take Skyrim
Give it 2000s graphics
Give it way more stats and skills
Add spellmaking where you can create retarded effects
Allow people to use alchemy and enchantment to achieve superhuman shit that is an exploit, but at the same time makes sense if you're some archmage researching godhood and such
Massively increase the content
Give far more roleplaying opportunities
Make all the mods involve improving everything and adding even more content instead of porn
Give the character you make a slow walking speed and a chance to miss direct attacks at the start of the game because it's an RPG with stats (you can mod this out if you really want to)
Give it a rich and interesting setting and a main quest plot that revolves around politics and religion
Now you have Morrowind, and can probably understand why people saw Skyrim as a general downgrade.

I just needed a reference point
Thanks I'll check out the vanilla

years long back burner

Sounds like it will still be finished last.

Never trust an elf

You can ignore alchemy/enchanting and still have a good time.
Magic is powerful and outside of the two expansions you don't need to optimize. If you don't plan to "abuse" the system, I recommend picking a mage friendly race (Altmer or Breton) and a mage friendly birthsign (Mage/Apprentice/Atronach) or you won't have enough Magicka to cast spells.

Alright, grassyass senior.

Fingers crossed I hope I have enough irl int points to not get filtered by this game

Is it recommended to go "full" mage at all, or should I have a weapon as a major skill too?

The quest in question is basically what you're saying though. Nerevar's bonewalker leads you to a shrine depicting the murder of nerevar by the tribunal, but it's ambiguous who made it
It's up to the player to decide what story to tell the gathered tribunal leaders, and no matter what story you tell you're going to piss somebody off who doesn't like your version. The fact that the Temple has Nerevar's corpse parading around doesn't really indicate anything specfic, and the lines it says suggest it's not even his soul inside it.

It's possible to go full mage if you know what you're doing. Magic is VERY powerful in Morrowind, provided you understand some races are immune to some effects (never cast fire on the Dunmer, they have massive resistances to it) and it cannot dice roll miss, only actually miss. You do need to be good enough with magic to successfully cast though.
I often just carry a staff for show as a mage, with magic doing everything.

Okay but does this fix the problem of becoming OP a couple hours into vanilla? Because otherwise it's just boring bloat.

Having a weapon skill is convenient because some enemies can be annoying to deal with if you only have magic at your disposal, but it's a matter of preference.
Again, I'm biased toward warrior/mage hybrids so that's what I would play instead of a "proper" mage. But going full robe-wearing, spell-weaving, mushroom-inhabiting wizard just works.

The keys didn't unlock anything for me here unless I did it wrong (probably)
there was a lot of stuff to sell though so I marked and came back

OpenMW retards and MWSE retards are locked into an intense retarded nerdfight keeping both mutually exclusive

TR retards understand the shortcomings of the vanilla engine but ignore them, raping performance for the sake of immersion and content

OpenMW alleviates most of the vanilla engine shortcomings making the performance rape much less consequential

TR retards decide to add MWSE exclusive additions to each of their releases with no OpenMW alternatives

I really have no words. Retardation bordering on malice would be the closest.

it's not a bad idea to have a backup weapon in case you run out of blue juice, i find enchanted daggers especially helpful for quickly dealing damage on paralyzed enemies

But that's all the fun of morrowind, ingesting a few gallons of potions then teleporting across the province to kill a god in one hit.

we wuz telvanni wizard vampires

any new vampire content?

I think they're planning on adding their mwse stuff to openmw when it officially hits .49.

Any idea when that is?

TR retards decide to add MWSE exclusive additions to each of their releases with no OpenMW alternatives

what do you mean? They have fallback rewards in case MWSE is not present

Should be around the same time starcitizen releases.

wearing plate armor while knee deep in water and whipping slaves

I know artists are very sheltered but sometimes it boggles my mind how stupid they are too.

lizards have sharp claws
don't want one of those cunts getting uppity and ripping your chest open

The fucking irony of this post lmfao

Truly, when I discipline MY slaves, I always wear the right equipment for the job!

people saw Skyrim as a general downgrade

Lol no

Zenimax EXCLUSIVELY got bottom of the barrel cheap slop digital artists to work on Legends, it's genuinely impressive, it's like there was an unironic mandate to make everything as generic as possible and to only hire people whose only contact with the franchise was 15 minutes of playing Skyrim and ESO. Not really the kind of people who pay attention to details like that. Why is a Dummer working for a great house even wearing steel plate instead of bonemold in the first place?

tbf in reality the slaves would likely be declawed and have their horns cut off

Which UI mod/mods are those? Potion effect icons are neat as is the searching in the chest.

The new spell effects and weather mainly.
I know it's supposed to be a neat little bonus if you use MWSE but it feels more like a punishment for using OpenMW.

Morrowind chads won, except my 200+ plugin modlist go fucked up by the Tamriel_Data update, so I have to spend hours fixing the fucking thing before I'm allowed to play the game again. I've never been buck broken by a game this hard before.

Direct your scorn to the OpenMW and MWSE devs and their massive egos

...and then you hand them scythes to reap saltrice and picks to break rock which they can kill you with anyways? That would be brutal and inefficient, especially for chattel slaves

Oh neat. I missed the config menu options.

200+ plugins in a morrowind installation

You get what you deserve.

how do you have 200+ mods for Morrowind?
I have 15

It’s hard for me to take claims of Bethesda “destroying the lore” seriously when it’s just really tiny errors like this that don’t actually even affect anything and can be fixed easily.

Like the way you retards talk about this shit you’d think it’s some last Jedi or timeless child level shit but no it’s just “this lizard guy no one knows isn’t a lizard probably” or “they forgot who put cow shit in an inhaler first” like it genuinely doesn’t matter

I'm sure this has been already mentioned ITT or in some other recent one but, what are some good recent mod releases for OpenMW? I know that if I start browsing for mods myself I'll never stop

I shop around Nexus like a bitch at the mall. It's kind of an obsession. You don't understand, though. I NEED that endgame medium armor fix. I NEED the faction quest overhauls for all the factions I don't play. I NEED the plugin that makes the Morag Tong hunt you down if you have an outstanding bounty. That should've been in the game to begin with!

need it.gif - 228x170, 1.86M

But the Nerevarine existing means that Nerevar's soul shouldn't be in that bonewalker body

There is a difference between Spiritus and Soul, a spiritus can generate infinite souls and after dying that soul is like an echo of the spiritus that made the soul but not the same since the spiritus keep generating souls that are different people

There's a modathon that started this month. idk how you feel about survival mods, but there's one below that released really recently.

nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/56480

The openmw guys seem to not feel like doing bugfix updates after the fact so they just bugtest the shit out of releases befor they put them out. .49 has been putting out release candidates for some months now but it will probably still be a few months before its officially out.

How come modders are always autistic spergs with gigantic egos? Sure, I enjoyed their work, and they do it for free, but it always puts me off how often their personalities fuck things up for everyone

honestly, same. I'm a glutton for small quest mods that see fun.

are their claws fit for cutting bundles of rice stalks? plus they would only have the tools when in the fields so you wouldn't have to worry about them disemboweling you outside of that

How the fuck does Uriel Septim keep getting magic dreams that foretell the future again

Because he has royal blood and he's connected to the sacred world, something that seems alien to today's people but was pretty normal 500 years ago and even more, King Phillipe 2 for example was one of the biggest collectors of mystic items

i like that one house dres card in which all the dunmer depicted are wearing clothing you can find in tes v and even though the card art is supposed to take place in tear, it very clearly takes place in a wooden viking cabin

i believe the point is less to imply that they are "destroying the lore" like it's some franchise busting star wars sequels moment and more to remark on the fact that no one involved in legends particularly cared about the elder scrolls beyond a very superficial level, which is objectively true when you look at all the other dumb mistakes in legends art. which would be fine if it was meant to be some silly light-hearted spin-off like hearthstone, but it isn't, it's supposed to be canon and has major lore developments for the thalmor and such in it

It takes a tremendous amount of ego to play something and think

I could do this better

And an even bigger amount of autism to actually do it
So narcissism builds and digital fiefdoms are established by mildly talented people getting flattered for the first time in their lives

“this lizard guy no one knows isn’t a lizard probably”

The problem with this is that they were the ones that originally wrote it.

“they forgot who put cow shit in an inhaler first”

The problem with this is that one of the biggest cities in Fallout 2 revolves around the person who put cow shit in an inhaler first.

It's lack of care.

When are they finally going to add card games?

Modders for Bethesda games tend to take the relatively recent anti Bethesda hate to heart and believe they can do bettter. In some rare cases they genuinely can. In others…

Legends narrative team seems to have done alright, by the time art issues are noticed it’s probably too late to fix it and the corporate side don’t wanna spend time and money on fixing art

I know about this mod, I'm asking when they will integrate it into TR like they did with the other tavern game

always

Nah not always. There's plenty of modders who put out amazing mods with little no explanation why other than they wanted to share it. Old mods especially when they were putting them out for the 20 or so people active on the forums to try. It's just that you remember the whiny assholes because they stick out more than the dude that made something awesome and vanished for the next decade.

It doesn’t seem fair to continually get assmad at small mistakes like this for years and years after they happened though. Sure point it out but to keep getting mad and circle jerking around it even after they get fixed (no jet in 76) it just pointlessly hostile

Hey you never know where that anon might live.

I'll try it out if it's automated and you don't have to manually eat or drink. I don't dislike survival, I think those mods do a great job at enhancing exploration and make outposts and food much more interesting. I used Ashfall in one of my first runs as a Temple crusader character, it was kino.

they get fixed

Did they update Fallout 4 to remove the mistake?

Have fun fixing your installs and being a bitch I guess.

i want to play a morrowind modpack, but with a controller alongside kb+m.

if i buy the steam version, will the steam controller input functionality work with the game heavily modded?

I see some controller support mods, but i imagine that might be less compatible with modpack than native steam controller support? thanks for any advice.

its all over.

Do the Imperial Legion and Cult get a decent amount of content in Grasping Fortune?
I don't think I've done a run in either of those factions in a long time

Why the fuck do I get stunned on the first hit?
I've never had anything like this before

fix jet in 76

proceed to lorerape more by including yet again mutants and bos

This is a Morrowind thread so you should stop bring in Fallout, but that argument doesn't hold water. They don't give a shit about having a consistent lore, thus they get shat on by people who care.

I just used AntiMicro X for the controller until I changed to OpenMW. That should work

Sure point it out but to keep getting mad and circle jerking around it even after they get fixed (no jet in 76)

That's the point though, they fixed it. Even if it was a minority of a minority they still listened for the most part.
Let them know there is still a contingent of people that are extremely passionate and knowledgeable about their IPs. if they think they can get away with lowest common denominator crowd pleasers you're going to continue to see the series deteriorate.

People made mods pretty quickly to fix it so if Bethesda updated 4 specifically to fix it themselves then people would claim they were either attacking those mods or trying to “cover up” their mistake. It would be a lose lose situation so best to just leave it alone in that specific game and just fix it in the next one (which they did)

OpenMW retards and MWSE retards are locked into an intense retarded nerdfight keeping both mutually exclusive

Is this true though? As far as I know it's 100% one sided on openmw's side, the mwse devs actively volunteered to help integrating mwse into openmw but they were refused.
For some unfathomable reason openmw's devs are absolutely obsessed with making a completely new scripting system for their project for no good reason whatsoever, effectively demanding that the player base choose between their mod and 90% of the rest.

muh mwse spaghetti code

muh tes3mp

Openmw doesn't even want to keep the original scripts. Any excuse they make about other mods is just that.

bal foyen thieves guild

Should I play Chimeri-Quey (for Nerevar reasons) or Maormer (for the slight spear boost)?

Anyone got any idea why some (and only some) buildings have fucked lighting inside? I'm only using the usual MGE XE and MSE mods with TR. Many buildings are fine, while others look like tanning salons.

I heard it was more like the "volunteered" but were just fucking around and didn't actually want to help.

when it’s just really tiny errors like this

Don't be a disingenuous retard, bethesda gets called out because they do shit like retconning the biome and culture of a region to chase after lotr, or delete a whole pantheon for simplicity.

Is this true though? As far as I know it's 100% one sided on openmw's side, the mwse devs actively volunteered to help integrating mwse into openmw but they were refused.

You may want to check the forum posts over there and see what Null posts/posted.

delete a whole pantheon

Which?

This is not intended to be Ashfall

It sure looks like a reskinned ashfall though lmao

Ill gives you Cyrodiil but they didn’t delete the nord pantheon. There’s a bunch of references to the old gods if you actually pay attention such as froki still worshipping them in the wild, meeting TSUN himself in sovngarde and also literally every single fucking carving in every single fucking tomb

The slow travel speed and combat filtered me. I assume there's no mod that changes the combat in any meaningful way?

HELP my restart-itis is acting up

Do keep in mind that OpenMW is meant to be an open source replacement of the Morrowind engine, so I imagine they don't want to use anything too specific to Morrowind to build it (like MWSE)
LUA makes more sense as a long term project goal

there's mods that make swings always hit and if you use OpenMW there's some pretty decent animation replacers for weapons.

so what gay and retarded (gaytarded) mod did you make that got criticized

not an argument

they didn’t delete the nord pantheon

they just moved it from being the dominant religion in the region to getting off hand mentions

Bro come on
Also jungle cyrodiil receives multiple mentions in Oblivion and ESO

lel you know whats funny is i was kinda making fun of the OTHER guy, since i find that "omg tranny discord modauthor drama" shit people are always on about to be insufferably gay. but then you actually just kinda proved him right by somehow taking it personally and getting pissy about it
right on dude
what was your gay mod?

maybe, but regardless, it's openmw's only(?) survival mod

I'll check them out. My issue was more so things not feeling reactive enough but maybe this will alleviate some of my issues to enjoy the world/quests.

For this playthrough as an imperial outlander, I coc'd to Septim's Gate Pass after character creation so I could get to Narsis faster and work my way north like I had crossed the border instead of coming by ship. It's been a fun progression so far. The purple road is pretty safe on the way to Narsis, so you can do some sight seeing or kill a few things without much pressure. Narsis has a ton to do to level up for a bit, but some of the bigger quest lines are locked until you get ahead in factions so it pushes you out to find work up north. The trip up the Thirr let's you ease into the heavier dunmer culture at Almas Thirr, and by the time I got to Old Ebonheart it felt like a nice reprieve to be amongst men again. I hope they implement some alternate starts at some point from the many census and excise offices they've added.

The whole point of regen Magicka is to avoid broken Alchemy by level 10

Did/do you feel as if TR content is fairly self-contained? If I'm looking to book it immediately after making a new character, is there obvious progression in terms of where to go and what to do?

Don't most sources are 2nd Era (PGE1 era) or early 3rd era? a few centuries of Cyrodillic influence and syncretism would influence the nord pantheon, which has always been close to the cyrodillic one.

just buy some restore magicka potions
you don't HAVE to abuse alchemy, nigga

…do you know what the word “deleted” means? And yes I’m aware jungle cyrodiil has been addressed but it was still undone so i was going to concede that point

I didn't read the other reply I just replied to that one post. Being a disrespectful nigger isn't cool

a long term project goal is to add functions required by a massive amount of mods

Let's be real, this should have been their utmost priority after getting feature parity.
The fact that they prefer to chase after bullshit like mp gives me massive skywind vibes.

A long term project to make their engine more usable across a swath of projects rather than just Morrowind mods.
Just use the base engine if you want MWSE mods, there's nothing wrong with it.

Azura should be a hot young broad based off her lore. She's really vain and just wants her followers to be simps.

young

Nah she should be a milf anywhere between 30 to 60. She’s got that hot older woman vibe

i always just robbed the MG supply chests desu
they restock too iirc

I don't see how you can accept that cyrodiil was a retcon but not the nord pantheon.
Both are very clearly writing choices made out of expedience.

Any good self-imposed challenges that leads to an honest playthrough? I'd rather not become OP two hours in, I'd rather that come later in the game.

Azura(h) should look like whatever form is most appealing to a given worshipper to make them want to devote themselves to her.

bimbo azura is only azura
death to kirkbride for making her some boring blue bitch

azura.gif - 320x200, 498.34K

Just use the base engine if you want MWSE mods, there's nothing wrong with it.

The performance in TR cities in the original engine caps off at "functional".

What happened to the nord pantheon isn’t a retcon, it literally doesn’t fit the definition. It’s more narrative and cultural progression of the setting over time due to imperial influences in the region and the tragic irony of the storm cloaks fighting and dying for a culture that isn’t even their own

Like if you think it was a bad narrative choice that’s fine but it’s literally not a retcon

Contrarian faggot.

human

BORINGBORINGBORINGBORINGBORINGBORING

across a swath of projects rather than just Morrowind mods

What the fuck are you talking about? Are they looking to recycle the engine to make new games?
Even so, I'd argue that such an objective would make scripting an even greater priority, not something to leave for last.
All that results in them acting like this is a split in the userbase, with pointless duplication of effort.

The dialogue is pretty amusing.

There's no new overarching story to push you along in a specific direction, just pick a city and go there pretty much. I was actually surprised how much of Narsis content was off limits to me at level 1 because most TR content has been pretty wide open. I planned on joining Hlaalu and staying a while, but got stuck on resolving a labor strike I didn't have the skills to resolve yet so I headed north. Most of the other new cities have fairly self contained guild quest lines that branch off regionally, but rarely further abroad because of how the expansions are made one at a time. Now that the bulk of the mainland is done there are a lot more quests that take you across the map though.

Fill your inventory with shitty potions that only allow you to cast 3 weak spells every minute and need you to constantly pause the game to chug them down, then leave you completely vulnerable when you run out of potions so you have to exit the dungeon, rest, then go back inside wasting your time for no good reason

Or just install a mod that sidesteps the bullshit completely and lets you enjoy the game

NPC Dunmer were brown-skinned in Daggerfall for some reason, so she could be a dark elf

Also, the statues of Azura in Both Morrowind and Oblivion still depict her as a topless lady, so that was actually still her intended design up until Skyrim. Her in-game TES III model doesn't reflect that for reasons that should be obvious for anyone who's not retarded

Only actively use skills from a premade class. Randomly pick a class too. Personally I always do light roleplay from the start and choose what kind of person my character is (good guy who doesn't steal or evil thief etc.)

Sounds good. I like the idea of doing older content first so I can have the newer, more modern content towards the end.

OpenMW isn't actually a Morrowind engine. It just happens that it can read Morrowind data.
Pinky swear! MW actually means... MicroWave... Yes.

My brother in christ, if you actually believe the writers made a conscious choice to show the imperialization of Skyrim over the 4th era as opposed to just recycling oblivion lore out of laziness and tacking imperialization as an excuse I've got a bridge to sell you.
You may want to argue that it's not a retcon in the most literal sense of the word, but you know perfectly well that it's what it is in practice.

That sounds good. Anything else in mind?

"No! You're supposed to say yes! You're supposed to say: Yes, beautiful Azura, I would gladly murder at the snap of your ivory fingers. Boor! Bigot! Barbarian! Now, I must go before I forget that I am a lady and say something that I'll regret."

The tried and true "you can't sell armour off a corpse" hamstrings your moneymaking early on. That combined with no skill trainers and boat-only fast travel will slow you down considerably.

Ok then why did they include an entire quest about doing a ritual for KYNE given by a guy who says he hates the imperial divines several times. Also why did they put Tsun in sovngarde instead of Arkay or Stendarr or something

This is why I don't care about magic regen mods. I don't personally use one but only because restoring magic is already stupidly easy with mark and recall. You can already pop out with an intervention spell the moment you get low with enemies around with zero risk. Plus if you're not using spells then you're not even really playing a mage. The only way to"balance" it would be making teleport spells not work inside and removing resting outside a bed entirely. At that point it would be better to just play a warrior and spam health pots.

BOINGBOINGBOINGBOINGBOING

fixed that for you.

thats the thing daggerfall actually did better, even tho a lot of people seem to think its just ted being corny.
its not. shes the princess of vanity ffs.
in daggerfall when youre on azuras mission if you ask about your contact (a cultist of azura, obv) you get rumors how the villagers all see him standing there in the library blankly staring and smiling and muttering. theyve basically lost their minds because of azura. shes just this mind-meltingly beautiful goddess that once you see her, you can never live without her. simpx9000 except she controls an entire realm of oblivion so its somehow even worse

in morrowind, shes a lot more developed and powerful and important. but theres almost nothing that would indicate shes supposed to be a goddess of vanity. even worse, when you see her at the end, shes not even hot. like cmon man you made some grainy FMV for the intro that everyone skips, but you couldnt make a babely azura cutscene for when you beat the game?

Ok then why did they include

For the same reason why the included mentions of jungle cyrodiil: so that retarded drones like you could use those crumbs to defend the devs to the bitter end.

I accept your concession

might as well just open the console and give yourself 5000 int

she can also send a bunch of daedra after you if you summoned her at the witches covens. in fact sometimes they dont show up, take your money, and THEN send daedra after you to kill you anyways

really like how the daedra are in daggerfall desu. like sure, theyre undercooked, cuz ted was asspulling an entire universe by himself. but theyre just so much more arbitrary and cruel towards mortals. also, having to read books and actually figure out the summoning dates is so fucking cool

They can keep it, gimme that 50 year old dunmussy

Narsis looks fucking terrible. The TR team is usually pretty cracked and makes beautiful grand vistas but this just looks like rushed amateur slop. There's not a single actual window on any of these buildings, just the same 12 foot tall rectangular indentation everywhere.

FUCK lol I manual install

south of Tel Branora, underwater.

You can get infinite potions too, how is that an argument?
From a RP point of view it makes more sense that a mage that ran out of mana just rested for one or two hours before continuing instead of drinking 7 potions while fighting and then backtracking to the exit to sleep for a day

for anyone who's not retarded

I'm retarded. Why did she choose the old hag form?

What is that fugly fucking texture pack, holy jesus.

this is how cowards think
use the resources available to you
you know what my orc battlemage figured out?
if you just rip raw daedra hearts out of daedra and eat them, youll never be out of magicka ever again

if you cant figure out how to make magic work in morrowind, you got problems

I'm a lore noob. When she cursed the old elves into dunmer did she change her own appearance too or did she change them to look like her?

uses texture mods

complains about how things look

Battlemages are totally different from a pure mage which I'm assuming what the other guy is talking about. A regular mage running out of mana and being left with a shit dagger means death if they don't run like a bitch or spam pots. Obviously this stops being an issue the moment you get some gold and can buy whatever the fuck you want to become an OP God.

Overclocking your gpu.

Read who we were replying to originally. Not someone with experience, just some clueless newfag trying out a mage that'll fail every other spell and will die to scribs

Hmm, now that you mention it, my install is at least 8 years old. I might have installed some textures way back then, but I just figured I was still using HD vanilla textures.

using cheat mods and alchemy

Lol retards. Just drain your int to recharge magic

because morrowind female characters have no option to show their bare chests without mods and bethesda probably didn't feel like making an unique model for a character who's on screen for like 2 minutes total (and even if they did it's not like they wanted bare tits in the game at all due to ratings and whatnot), same reason sanguine is a generic dremora in skyrim instead of the fat drunken satyr from daggerfall and oblivion

No, that's the OE experience

for pure mage i always do atronach
then ill join either the temple or the cult and just teleport back there for free juice-ups
usually end up almost never using potions, even less than a non-atronach/non-pure-mage. which is ironic given that thats supposed to be the whole tradeoff

atronarch

temple

Yeah, that's the cheesiest way to play a mage.

Which ES lets me live out a pure mage fantasy the best?
mods included

Check out this faggot. I like his pajamas.

I like that backstory for Argonian slavery and the emnity between the lizards and the Dunmer. Way better than their old Eye of Argonia planning's which was just

oh yeah they hist made a pact with the dres bro they allow the argonians to be enslaved lol

EWWWWW

It's not about practicality, it's about the drip.
The real crime is that overseer's wearing some metal n'wah junk instead of proper quality bonemold.

yea if i dont wanna do alchemy tho, its the way

There's literally a book in morrowind about an argonian smith proving that wearing heavy armor in a marsh gets your ass killed. I'll try to find it real quick

Here
en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:The_Armorer's_Challenge

There's virtually nothing in morrowind in 2025 that's Bethesda original anymore.

bonemold wouldnt rust either

The problem is that there are countless tiny errors, interpolations, retcons, and otherwise unfitting or disappointing things. Go to UESP and try to research anything, and be amazed that ESO is fucking EVERYWHERE and always has some weird connection to every single topic. Every location or creature has some generic looking ESO picture, every major character or race has some weird tidbits from ESO. Taken individually none of it is a big deal, but the volume is so massive that it starts drown out the pre-ESO lore and infest every corner of everything.

atronach is perfect for a Conan build

There's slaves everywhere I go in TR.

Now that I think about it I haven't ever played morrowind as anything but a bosmer, breton or argonian.

Ok so how to make TR playable guide: turn the fog on and get that one mod that makes you level slower and training more expensive. Anything else? I kinda feel like it's too easy to get filthy rich in Morrowind. Like everything above silver tier will give you 1000000 gold.

Leveling strength and intelligence is useless.
Weak? Just get liquored up and cleave people in half.
Dumb? Drink a smart potion or 10.

Just restrict yourself from using creature merchants or constantly waiting 24 hours for more gold.

based and merlinpilled

As much as people like to jerk off to Morrowind and Kirkbride, most pre-ESO lore is empty vagueness tho
Go to those UESP entries and strip out everything from ESO and see what you're left with
In far too many cases you'll have a single line from a single book that really says nothing of worth

It's why TR is pretty much having to build every single thing about House Dres from the ground up

good luck finding a merchant with that gold to buy it

Launder money through Creeper for a little bit and then use Enchanters to offload loot

I remember I used to think bonemold was actually made out of mold with some wierd properties

I hate weebs trying to turn Numidium into "le ebin Evangelion" so goddamn much

im only just pissed about that daedric bitch of latest TESO expansion jygallag was ok but anyway they are fucked off to oblivion until they reuse it for whatever bullshit

The nordic one

God forbid ESO actually do something with the lore

I'm not shitting on Morrowind or TR btw
I'm just pointing out that the lore is a lot more lacking than people seem to think

i think its cool until they turn dagoth into fucking shinji or the next time they reuse numidiumguffin

nordics being culturally lost over time fits

ill play it when it's done in 10 or so more years

explain

What are the odds that Vivec appears in a future game? The rumor in Oblivion was that he was seen being dragged off to Oblivion alive, so there's still a chance that he's in Molag Bal's fuckdungeons or something and could escape to back to Mundus.

When you look at it closely, ESO doesn't really do that many actually new things either, it also usually just builds on whatever is briefly said on an obscure in-game book or dev forum post. The problem that most of this specific section of the fanbase has with ESO is the way it executes those concepts. For a lot of people, most of it is boring and generic. Compare the way ESO does the Altmer and Bosmer to the way TR does them, for example.

a chance that he's in Molag Bal's fuckdungeons or something and could escape to back to Mundus

I don't think he'd want to come back.

Honestly I do not care for Vivec

ESO's additions to the Maormer are cool as fuck. I want giganigga half-sea-serpent leviathans to be a playable race in future installments so bad.

You have it all wrong. OpenMW and MWSE are "mutually exclusive" simply because OpenMW's API can't do what MWSE's does. Modders use MWSE mainly because the mods they make cannot be made for OpenMW. It's not a preference, it's simply not possible to make OpenMW versions of everything. The same is true for TR, the things that you call "exclusive additions" are simply normal parts of the mod that had to be cut because OpenMW can't support them. This is a way of supporting OpenMW, so the mod can be played in it, not downgrading to spite OpenMW users.
It has nothing to do with nerd fights. It's like saying that the seats in your car are so comfy and Boeing is being retarded for not implementing them into their passenger aircraft, and you hate your car for being slower than a jet. These are two completely different things, you don't just copy-paste parts and cross them over.

Ebonheart was originally (in Arena) on the Mainland, but was moved to Vvardenfell when Bethesda realized early on during the making of Morrowind that they couldn't create the entire region.
Thus TR made the decision of having an other Ebonheart on the Mainland making up a story on how the one on Vvardenfell came into existence just to skirt around Dunmer laws by technically being an expansion of the one on the Mainland. Not exactly a Dragonbreak honestly.

Zero
He lost his divinity and was taken into the rape dimension

OpenMW's API can't do what MWSE's does

Which was fueled out of spite and the notion of "I can do it better than you".
You know, retardation.

one of the few things said about the maormer in the mainline games is that they have Dunmer-esque bug biotechnology and ships

ESO depicts them as using completely normal metal weaponry and armor and completely normal wooden ships

lmao no

What are the odds that Vivec appears in a future game?

Zero, unless it's in TESVIX: Morrowind that gets made in 80 years

oh my god no one fucking cares about the mwse openmw shitfest
just use the engine that works with your mods and fuck off god damn

Narsis' new gigamerchant has 120000 gold, but his mercantile and speechcraft are so ridiculously high he offered me 1 gold for a daedric dagger.

I assume he's some mega jew high up in the Hlaalu?

Empty vagueness with breadcrubs is great. It lets the imagination run wild. It's how we get the inventive yet authentic feeling from stuff like TR. When you have ESO info that says "actually the solutions to all the mysteries are this and that and they look like skyrim NPCs with normal houses and weapons and everything" it's just fucking lame. It's so limiting.

kek, very fitting

You mean the trade house guy? I got a good deal from him but I've got 90 mercantile, not sure how that factors in.
he even sells punavit residue, fuck them Indoril

But I don't WANT to use the engine that works with my mods, I want to use the good one that doesn't run like anal leakage but I'm forced to anyways because a bunch of dork faggots can't get along.

OG engine runs perfectly fine retard
kill yourself please

He lost to the cock. There's no coming back from that. Can't beat the cock.

It is how it is.

skub.jpg - 600x832, 96.21K

I really wonder who these people are that can't run Morrowind.exe in the year 2025. Maybe they're installing 500GB of uber grafix mods and cranking the view distance to 25565 and getting 30fps in old ebonheart and calling this a travesty, I don't know. Are they trying to play on a phone or something? How does this happen?

OG engine runs perfectly fine retard

I need to turn off all the MGE graphic enhancements to get a stable framerate in OE and Narsis.
You know what I need to do with OpenMW to get comparable results? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Please stop making these threads and post in my non vidya threads instead please. Thank you.

No, The Wolf Queen just said the ship they pulled in with was insectoid and identical to Dunmeri ones besides flying a different flag. It didn't say anything about their weapons or armor.
Could easily be spun as being a prize vessel they claimed.

The important thing is what you do with the implications, that was an opportunity to do something that looks cool and unique and do some worldbuilding with Pyandonea's particular natural features that would influence Maormer material culture. They could have depicted them as wearing armor made out of sea serpent scaled as TR and a few Skyrim mods do, but instead they just wear normal metal armor with metal gills so that you don't forget they're meant to be SEA elves. that's why people don't like ESO, it chooses to be boring and lame when it doesn't have to be

Do you play Morrowind on a laptop from 2009 or something?

the absurdist exaggeration of a machine too old to run the game is still 7 years younger than the game itself

You act like a caricature of the average retard defending poor optimization.

A 7 year old desktop.
I barely crack 50 FPS at the best performing areas of the TR cities, down from 120+ literally anywhere else. The original engine is fucking horrendous, don't defend it.

inb4 "lol 7 year old GPU no wonder"

It's fucking MORROWIND.

post your specs and modlist

I mean, yeah, I do agree that having serpent influence on their gear, even if just as an artistic motif, would make sense since their whole thing was snake magic and being close to sea serpents, but I don't think taking the line about the ship being insectoid and making them Dunmer 2.0 would be good since their lands are described as being a sea jungle with kelp and vegetation covered cliff mazes that only they can navigate that's guarded by the serpents they've tamed.

50 FPS is "fucking horrendous"

yeah honestly, I think you just need to get over it. Yeah it'd be great if you got an additional 10 FPS in specific regions but it's not worth cutting them down for that. You can choose to turn the settings down at any time, which you did, so it's not really an issue.

Maybe they're installing 500GB of uber grafix mods

Some anon was downloading 130 gigs worth of fucking mods in one of these threads. It was so god damn insane.

130gb

of MORROWIND mods

what in the absolute fucking hell

How do you even rack up a file size that large for Morrowind?
Even a massive texture pack couldn't be that big, right? Maybe those voice mods since audio files are huge?

I really wonder who these people are that can't run Morrowind.exe in the year 2025

People who install one specific mod that fucks everything up but don't notice and think it's the base game's fault.
I've had whole playthroughs of no crashes on extensively modded setups, but add just one widdle extra mod on top of that and everything collapses because one fucked up script can make all the difference in the world.

He was on windows shell and downloading some mega mod pack and it was 130 gigs. Everybody was making fun of him.

Do you download standard data or HD if your on OpenMW? I got no other mods.

Morrowind is truly the ultimate example of "the best modpack is the one you build yourself". Mod lists are so small in this game and the vast majority of mods are just optional bonuses rather than mandatory overhauls. I think a lot of people assume it's like skyrim, look for someone else's mod list, download 400 mods they don't want or need or know anything about, then it runs like shit and they complain the game is bad.

whichever suits your taste more

wearing armor made out of sea serpent scaled as TR

TR has sea elf armor? Where?
