I have 100%ed the game, 60/60 quests, 100% unit data, 100% archive and I still maintain that everything past the 30 hour mark of 2B is irrelevant.
I wasn't aware route B was going to be all 9S the first time I played but I instinctively did 90% of shared side quests as 2b meaning that routeB was just the boring shitty 9s side quests and the main quest which is basically the same.

Gameplay gets repetitive quickly. Combat is very limited and it's all about levels. Writing is absolutely garbage unless you like anime.
The game is in 3 parts and the second part is the same as the first but playing as another character.
Only thing I liked besides the ass was the soundtrack but you can listen to it for free on Youtube without having to endure 30 hours of the most overrated game of the decade.

That’s just the backstory, dumbass. The story is two robots falling in love with one another despite their tragic circumstance and one dealing with the lose of the other when they’re gone. A2 is literally the original 2E (2B) and the last 3rd is her following in the footsteps of her successor after her death after inheriting her memories and emotions and learning about them herself through it.

One of my biggest complaints with the game is how this extremely important backstory just kind of... isn't in the game. A2 shows up and you're like woah who's this bad bitch" and then the story just goes on as if you know who she is but it tells you literally fucking nothing because Taro's a psycho and expects you to have seen the Japan-only stage play that covers it. I know you can read a transcript of it on the terminals later, but that's a pretty lazy and shit way of introducing important story into the game and it also unlocks long after you've been wishing you understood what the fuck is going on with her.

The game is written as if you've experienced the whole pearl harbor story that doesn't exist in the game at all except for the terminal novel but that pretty universally doesn't count for reasons already explained.

The game gives you hints that something's going on and they're related in some form, and in any properly made piece of media that would be followed up by gradually filling in the blanks and by the end giving you the full story, but Automata just doesn't. It'd be like if Replicant/Gestalt never gave you the project gestalt docs.
