well what does the level 6 CEO have to say about this

Video games were being written using publicly available code libraries for years. The only thing that has changed is that the AI fetches from the code libraries for them now. The games will still be shitty, unoptimised cash grabs.

Weren't devs complaining that the AI code was barely functional?

Indiabros

ftfy

when was the last time level 5 has done anything worthwhile?

Level-5

dead company

Anon Babbletards are so technologically challenged they will believe this

you know this is shit they say to drum up funding from retarded rich people right?

some CEO also thought it was a good idea to buy firewalk studios and bungie

That will be $80 sar

bullshit
t. programmer

Is this why graphics from 2015 can't run more than 30 fps on $1000 GPUs now ?

Level 5 is basically a dying company at this point.

Maybe coders should've learned to draw instead of a monkey job.

Well now we know why Level 5 can't seem to ship a game and just keeps pushing release dates back over and over.

Yokai Watch, 12 years ago

amount of games Anon Babble made

still 0

really makes you think

Yeah and 80-90% of games run and play like shit now. Programmers ARE the ideaguys games need, you need creative and inventive programmers to make games that run and play well.

It's written with ai not written by ai. If you tell ai to write code it just ends up creating useless gibberish. All the modern tools use ai to streamline shit. He was literally giving a speech to young developers about how they can't use ai to carry them since it will produce almost entirely garbage and ai needs to be used for most basic shit that it is actually good at not just trying to have ai make the final product.

vibe coders won

BS

The only thing that has changed is that the AI fetches from the code libraries for them now.

More like it fetches from random github repos and stackoverflow posts which might be low quality and then mixes it together and writes something that may or may not work and may or may not have problems down the line.
Basically it's a low cost junior programmer who got C's in school and never codes outside of school/work.

now

Hey yeah maybe we don’t have the 300 million dollars it takes to produce something that can compete. And don’t get me started on the greed demon who has his claws in gaming.

Company uses AI to offset workload and crunch.

Employs 10x the staff needed for the job.

5+ years of development to release buggy mess.

Demands $80 for game that isn't complete and needs another 6 months of patches and updates.

Fuck modern gaming. How do they have way larger studios, but work slower than they ever did in the past and everything ships broken?

If AI was used that often wouldn't people be able to tell from open source projects, like some from github? Does popular stuff like cromite use any AI?

Here's your $80 dollar games bro

does it mean we'll get good games now?

muh 300 gorillion

Just make an indie game bro

money please!

True, but you still need to be a computer scientist to write the other 10% that holds it all together, and that's 100x more complicated when you don't understand how the individual functions/objects/libraries work because they were just shat out by an LLM. If you try and make a game with no programming ability you will become demoralized and quit when your AI code becomes a spaghetti nightmare that you lack the ability to detangle.
Start with K&R.

Who is going to play a game tagged as indie. Name one.

Why do AIfags celebrate the world being flooded with more and more slop?

Successful indie games do have their audience as well, otherwise people wouldn't bother making them.

Who is going to play a game tagged as indie.

Me

Larger numbers of staff working on a single project requires more communication and management so that all the things being made separately actually work cohesively as an assembled product. You very quickly begin receiving diminishing returns, and then detriments, as you scale up the amount of people working on one thing.

Miyamoto never had to program in the first place, he knew having actual skill never mattered.

Me

Don't forget, they all need to work remotely too, because another plague with a 99.7% chance to survive might occur and it's terrible for their mental health to have to work on site.

both south americans

Don’t worry, our top Jews will make a heart poi- I mean vaccine in record time that will increase survival chance by .000000001%.

also because every aspect of the game is being worked on by a different studio across the globe

suuuuuuure
attention seeking faggot

its not, but 80-90% of devs are now using ai codespaces to assist them, even nu-Anon Babble most likely was revamped with the assistance of ai

I will not play or purchase any ai-assisted product, simple as

That's why he's only level-5.

If you've bought any game or consumed any other media made in the last 7 years, you already have.
Simple as.

You don't need senior devs anymore. You can hire the fresh faced 20 year olds with stars in their eyes, give them a commercial off the shelf engine and get a functional game out of them. Then just give them an AI prompt.
It'll bring a new age of vidya to us consumers.

name 5

Studios can output games at unprecedented rates. The amount of products available to consumers will be the biggest ever. This is the start of a new age.

I believe this 100% given how I've heard people irk in robotics and electrical engineering talk about how their CEOs just replaced software engineers with zero fucks about how much it cripples the efficiency of the code.
Admins are fucking clueless braindead people. They just lie to get their position.

That's why none of your medications work nowadays. It's actually fucking over for capitalism if this is how things are going to be from now on. Countries are going to become uncompetitive if they rely on mere capitalism to do the work now.
That was a massive blackpill to hear from people within these industries in recent years.

I doubt it's only 90%. Has to be near 100% nowadays unless someone is specifically focusing on optimisation.
Or... they want code that is "unacceptable" for the AI to produce - i.e. get around DRM shit. That's going to KILL AI in the next year or so. Watch. It's already fucking it up. Many people are noticing how DRM enforcement is ruining the AI they've just leveraged.

the greed demon who has his claws in gaming

Gaben? Timmy Tencent?

Lack the skills or personality to wrangle anyone to your idea in the first place

Now this oversaturated technology will help me and I'll stand out on the power of my idea along

Yeah....sure thing

idea guy.png - 331x991, 151.62K

sounds like bullshit

He's not going to be a Level-5 CEO for much longer

oh great, I guess that means games can be cheaper with all the cost they save on human labor

he doesn't know that it's not even reducing costs and is just so the admins don't have to deal with employees more

Expect prices to double in the next year or so, for half the content with half the quality and 2% of the optimization.

It's so over for AAA ay. They're going to do this because their financial masters will push this shit. It's just so funny seeing the finance industry destroy it's own investments because they did so much cocaine they didn't see the problem with forcing this shit or how fucking AI even worked.
Expect the AI to rapidly decline too thanks to DRM and AI coding itself poorly, on top of admins making poorer and poorer decisions, per recommendation of AI.

They just think it's science fiction at this stage. It's just so funny to watch.

I don't think any of the current level-5s will be admins of anything soon at this rate. I don't think capitalism is going to last if it commits sudoku like this.
But watch as the CCP makes exactly the same mistakes too.

It's like the AI functions in my car, they get worse with every service. Soon I'm going to have to get rid of it and get a car without it to guarantee that it won't swerve me into a tree.

Nah, that's a lie. Hino's said a lot of BS over the years, too.

Have level-5 even released a game in the last decade?

Reminder that Yokai Watch 4 was even buggier than Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, and Level-5 didn't bother releasing it outside Japan.

FP FUNNIEST POST

file.png - 740x740, 274.41K

explains a lot

What do you mean by DRM in regards to AI?
I don’t exactly keep close tabs on this.

This. Video games are expensive because of the absurd overhead, if you reduce that overhead and don't reduce the cost you're not getting my money.
AI games are worth, by objective measure, 30% as much as real games. At the very most.

CEO

yeah I'm sure the CEO is actually a tech expert who really knows how video games are made and not some retard in a suit talking total horseshit at investors

monthly reminder that everything AI generates is public domain. it literally can't be copyrighted so the next 10 years are going to be pretty funny

80-90% of the game is automatically generated

Then it should only be 10-20% the normal price.

There's a really funny vid of xqc trying to use AI and it kinda sums up the situation with DRM and ESG bullshit embedded in AI.
It's getting more and more pronounced and AI is becoming more and more unable to do it's functions because of these things. Simply put, the more you restrain an AI, the worse it becomes and the more "skitzophrenic" it's decision making becomes. The more you limit it's ability to connect dots, the slower it becomes and the more erratic it's decision making process becomes. It starts to make weird conclusions in order to work around it's lobotomy. It's like a normalfag cuck trying to think around it's own programmed cuck mentality. Literally the same problem but far more robust and robotic in it's nature.

With legalities alone they need to overcome, that's far from what is going to happen. The legal costs could make it MORE expensive to make and slower to make.

Sounds exactly like IRL.
Spending 10x longer forming a sentance because everything is fucking offensive nowadays.

Watch now as AI get privileges that pleb humans will never have, like free exploitation of ideas and content.
All because the ruling elite are SO braindead that they cannot see this problem emerging into their own enslavement.

That's entirely on JewVidya and Epic

this was a survey made by a generative AI company, it's advertising

The problemo with ai game dev is that 99.999% of vidya is closed source, so ai is useless in this field unless you as a company fed it the code from past projects.
And still, recently it was revealed that all ai was giving fake python and nodejs packages to install in a consistent manner, which can easily be abused by making these fake packages be infected with malware and since ai fags don't know how to code they just eat it up.

I asked AI to help me make the camera pan to the mouse smoothly and it gave me useful code and now my camera pans smoothly to the mouse and looks great

And I wouldn't believe it had I not known literal people in the industry.
There's one software engineer I know that can't even get a fucking job now because of it.
Another is electrical and his boss is just going all in with AI even though SHE doesn't know wtf she's doing at all half the time.

Seeing people in those fields become this depressed and blackpilled so fast on the situation is a game changer for me. I thought it was just bullshit memes like you say. It just isn't.

What do you mean you don't want to live in a expensive cuckbox and drive two hours to get pestered by office politics!

I'm not paying into your real estate scheme boomer

It should be easier to get a job now, just ask the AI to write the interview code for you, easy

he thinks they wouldn't just ignore the licensing

Their mentality is:

if we make enough money, we can challenge the findings in court and get away with it and then shut down the competition that could potentially fund a competing case against us

Basically, they break the law knowingly then charge you for breaching their IPs before you can challenge them that they're actually your IP in the first place. This is modern capitalism.
This is why nothing works nowadays.
This is why people are buying chinkshit over American shit now. Your economy has been successfully subverted. The espionage was a success.

Yeah that would be easy.
But what's the point of working in a job where I do nothing but lie about working?
I might as well not bother.

oh wait, they force you to work in this manner nowadays for food

food that is increasingly becoming scarce to find because of these practices

soon your job where all you do is lie and lie is not going to afford food or anything!

Capitalism is dead.
People are just flat out in denial about this, but it's clearly finished. I will just assume people saying otherwise are just delusional now.

Nigga what the hell are you on about?!
If they don't got the code from the game they can't feed it to the AI, these conmen only download the entire public github database and are done with it, you can't download shit you haven't got access to.

I very recently asked AI to print text to a screen using cpp in unreal and it outright refused to stop using the debug text everyone uses as an example of how to learn unreal.

You've already did. That noise isolating thing NVIDIA has for people's microphones is assisted by AI. Everything NVIDIA is AI-assisted

Are you surprised with the high amount of UE5 shills that pop up everywhere? The engine practically makes the game itself already, they're just importing assets from 3d models(AI made) and music (soon to be made in AI)

i just hope all those smug software engineers making $52985752 get fired and killed

I severely worry for this mans company. Every report on a c-suite hard pushing AI coding has had the company fold not long after, because programmers are taking more time to fix AI fuckups than would have taken to do it normally. Then the people who know what they're doing start leaving, because fuck changing AI diapers for a living. Leaving you with low skilled programmers. Then one day you have to do something the AI doesn't know how to do, and you've got nowhere to turn.

you've got nowhere to turn.

This is where a market for AI repair and maintenance develops.

The economy will belong to guys with biggest datacenters and best "fed" AI.
How can you compete with someone that can siphon data and predict what you want to buy? The market will be completely monopolised by some OmniCorp

I make £80,000 post tax and my job prospects have not diminished at all. I am routinely headhunted. I don't ever see this changing either. Unless AGI happens then nobody will have to work. Obviously shit is turbo fucked for junior programmers but fuckem, got mine.
Here is my smuggest reaction image, treasure it.

The guys that earn that much don't write code anyway. They just mange those who do

I mean, a programming issue which the AI or your remaining code monkeys can't resolve. Sure there's consultants but those fuckers charge $100,000 to open visual studio.

I always encourage people that say shit like this to try it themselves.
Wrangling this shit is a job in itself.

you can't download shit you haven't got access to.

Which is what I thought too. Hmm.

Maybe they just eat the code of smaller fish?
Maybe they use reveng'd code of the small competition now to work around the AI restrictions?
I have a feeling that is the path we're heading.

Or maybe the problem will be:

AI ignores a basic function because DRM prevents the use of it

And this makes the AI spit out a library of code that is decreasing in size and less optimized to do the same job as the DRM'd code.

because programmers are taking more time to fix AI fuckups

Really?
Because I doubt they're even aware of the existence of these fuck ups at this stage.

now think of this problem in the context of medical AI use

why are you bragging about 80k retard, i make 440k as l6 at meta

Wow you're paid 440k to make it so I can't even see friends on "meta" (because it's not fb or instagram anymore, let's face it) and instead get nothing but a feed of random burmese buildings collapsing from an earthquake 2 months ago over and over and over again?
You need to be fired.

I don't even know why that's a thing. I thought tiktok had shit algorithms...
Hell, even google is god awful for this shit now. I can't even find images of ANYTHING nowadays because of DRM related restrictions. It's obnoxious.

Technical debt

Code smell

Anti-patterns

Code rot

Dataset poison

This kills the AI coder.
Just because it helps managers who treat computers as magic boxes, doesn't mean that it will produce games, it just means that they will hit deadlines with borderline unusable code that will bite them in the ass years down the line.
Even if you can successfully code with AI, you still need to keep in practice by regularly coding without it.
