Does anyone else here just suck ass at games?

can't beat 90% of games unless i can play them on easy or very easy mode

can't play 2D platformers because i miss jumps and die 1 billion times

can't play multiplayer games of any kind because i get stomped even by casual players

can't play souls likes because i just can't learn the mechanics and patterns at all and die 1 billion times

can't play strategy games because i literally can't understand what i have to do

Is anyone else like me?

Every time I go anywhere on the internet I see millions of people who are masters at video games. They play every game on the hardest difficulty and complete it with ease, they dominate multiplayer games, and they remark that some of the most notorious hard games of all time like Elden Ring or Ninja Gaiden are "actually easy".

I feel like I'm the only person who sucks ass at games despite playing them every single day of my life since I was 3 years old.

I try to get good at games I really like. For example I have over 10 Crazy rank licenses in Crazy Taxi.

I'm just above average.

I start off shit but I get good pretty fast. I was horrible at splatoon 3 when it came out but I got S+ in the first few weeks and then played with my friend who’s one of the best from the UK.

I wouldn't say i'm bad but i'm frustratingly mediocre
In any micro community like say, Anon Babble playing Mario Kart together or some generals or Anon Babble, I can, at best, be among the Top 3 or top half, or just competitive, but NEVER the best.
It's very frustrating.

I'm the same. My favorite genre is actually the kind I suck the most. Still like it though.
Otherwise, if not for the difficulty, I can't commit to finishing games anymore. I've gotten old.

How old are you?

29

not really no, maybe only a bit on the rts part, but anyway, if you really want to get good at some game, watch really good players, pros if its a competitive game and see what they do and why and try to replicate it at best as you can, back in my day i was constantly downloading demos to learn from pro cs players

Your reaction is getting fucked after 20.
Why do you think there is no esportsmen after 24?
All you have left is winning via tactic, no reaction

I am bad at games. I pretty much bash my head against a wall until something works.

I was even worse at games when I was 16 years old though.

And I know 50 year olds who have 1000x the gaming skill I have.

Menwhile the average tendie at age 40+ playing Mario 3D Platformers and doing crazy jumps with perfect timing? Age doesn't matter, this is a problem with OP in specific

Just play how you enjoy it. Who cares

I find it extremely hard to enjoy most games because they're too hard for me.

Even games that I do beat, I often spend 80% of my time swearing, raging and going crazy. Every time I die or run into troubles, I start shouting things like

what the actual fuck?!

that was fucking bullshit

this is fucking retarded

i can't fucking do anything!

It's not an enjoyable experience, not because I don't enjoy games, but because I simply don't have the skill to play them.

There are also lots of games I'd love to play, but I just can't because I know I'll never be good enough to beat them.

Even games many people regard as casual like God of War 2018 are too hard for me.

So you just suck. It's ok. Whole thread with players like you. Try to find joy in gameplay and don't try unlock achivments.
Didn't play. Sounds like boomer issue. He probably played 10000+ hours at Mario and know how game works. Zoomers usually avoid autist game from 90s

What's your favorite genres of game OP?
Also what games do you want to get into but you're worried about the difficulty

I've beaten castlevina 3 and ninja gaiden legit(after about a 1000 gameovers) so I'm not completely terrible but any kind of actually hard arcade game with limited continues filters me, only thing I can beat with that format is sonic and mario. when I had the time to dedicate to multiplayer my ceiling was usually the equivalent of silver so bad with an embarrassing time commitment.

congrats, you cheated yourself

It's like golf, sometimes I do really well and sometimes I suck dick.

You actually have a gift, you could be the next DSP!

wtf right on a course?

No that's a mulligan.

I suck at Soulslikes, but I think it's more because I don't have the staying power to learn all the patterns and stuff. I'd start Demon's Souls, die 10 or 15 times, and quit.

I did manage to beat Another Crab's Treasure, however.

my reaction times are 5ms slower from 17 to 30 you have no idea what you're talking about

I can't help but abuse overpowered weapons and spells because I don't know anything about builds. I had to use the slime and moonlight greatsword to beat Elden Ring.

I wouldn't say I'm bad at games but I don't really practice, so what happens is when I play a new game with friends I'm pretty good and then hit my glass ceiling early and then never really get better than that

To add, I also find that when I get really into a game I'll research and learn about it but still only play when I play with my friends. So I'm like all theory no application

Why do you think there is no esportsmen after 24?

take a look at quake, one of the hardest competitive games in existance

faker got MVP for a worlds final win at 28 last year

I do
Recently I've been trying to play the original Super Mario Bros. Can't get past 6-4

Hey anon, it's alright. I hope for the best for you, and others too. I believe there's hope. I think you and others can get better.

You suck, stop playing games, get a job, stop ruining my games, and never come back!

Just be good

Anyone can become competent at most video games if they put enough time into them. But there are some things that really are beyond the capacity of certain human beings. A guy with an IQ of 60, for example (mentally retarded), is never going to be good at a difficult puzzle game.
I personally am incapable of playing rhythm games. I'm so absurdly retarded that I even miss the buttons that need to be pressed; if a giant X appears on the screen, I press A. If left appears, I press right, etc.

I used to play all games on the hardest setting, but most of the games I played overall were as a teen during gen7, the ones I pirated on PC. They were pretty much all shooters.
Now and since then I haven't really played many shooters, since they've kind of faded as the dominant genre and I am more interested in other games anyway. But I pretty much suck and can't justify playing on anything over normal or whatever the default is. Even easier games take me 25-50% longer than average to beat.

I had 500 hours in ER when I started the DLC, and Dancing Lion took me two whole days

melee?

You’re cute

I suck at 2D platformers and I'm too old to git gud. So much trial and error just to beat 1 game. I still play them though and rarely use save states. The struggle is part of the journey.

It just takes me very long to learn the simplest shit, then I forget it right away anyways.

I'm just worthless and fucking stupid

You’re not worthless anon. Unless you’re also racist, then I hope you get dumber until you need to pay an immigrant abuelita to take care your drooling mouth

Unless you’re also racist, then I hope you get dumber until you need to pay an immigrant abuelita to take care your drooling mouth

So you’re racist and a jakposter

better than being an insecure & brown

fvark

I've been playing shooters for years and I still can't aim well.

I’m not brown, I’m just a commie

it just keeps getting worse
