Is there a game you feel equal love and despair for?
Xenoblade 2
Planescape Torment
I literally had no idea what the fuck was going on during this part of them movie. I couldn’t even understand what she was saying.
best warhammer strategy experience
developers are morons who keep making shit low effort DLC
Deadly Premonition
blah blah muh ring
something like that
ive been playing/writing fanfics in ai dungeon about Galadriel being a horny dominatrix the last week. Its a shame there are so few women in lotr. This is why every time AI has Sam and Frodo together it tries to make them fuck.
Basically the ring turns her into a BPD psycho.
WOODEN DOORS FRODO
6 MILLION HOBBITS WHILE FIGHTING SARUMAN AND SAURONS FORCES AT ALL SIDES
The factory must grow.
no wonder. The movie is shit or otherwise, depending on how you look at it, because it directly quotes the lines from the book but skips 95% of in between explanations. It makes 0 sense most of the time. Worst of all is that characters acts as complete retards throwing their lives away at a whim, not expressing any doubt or motivation.
I hate these fucking elves. The only based race were the Ents.
She was tempted by the Ring and was basically acting out to show Frodo and to herself just how horrible and evil a monster she would become so she could reject its influences and prove to Frodo that she cannot and should not be entrusted with the Ring.
Puyo Puyo
Galadriel stole her husband's and Gandalf's lines in the movie to make her an even bigger girl boss than in the book.
The screenwriters were two women btw.
The only based race were the Ents
Humans are cringe?
I feel like this is one of those games that never had a real "golden age", it's just something that has been carried by having such unique presentation (the massive scale of mortal empires and immortal empires campaign) that it always has had deep flaws but those flaws are not enough to stop it from being such unique experience that it doesnt turn players away
Galadriel a cute
Most of them are. The Rohan folk are the only based humans.
What's with all the Lord of the Rings related threads today?
Darktide.
The elements to make a great game are all there, but every single game will do something to remind you of how they shit the bed in some way.
3 is still a massive downgrade compared to 2
Mid TWW2 was basically the golden age where they at least felt like they had to put some effort in and did actually do pretty good sweeping changes to factions. TWW3 managed to take a lot of that quality of life stuff and reverse basically all of it, combined with the DLC becoming more expensive but lighter on content with less free reworks.
FFXIV.
Both are massively imbalanced and have broken AI, but its better to keep up with WH3 since they are still updating it at some partsThere are ups and downs to both games, ranged units are not as overpowered for the player vs AI in WH3 and melee units are not as useless for the player in WH3
3 is bigger therefore its a better game simple as that
it's really not a hard scene (or movie) to understand, the entire movie is about how the ring corrupts and influences
yea but why sperg out at random.
Why does everyone say the Hobbit was a bad trilogy?
The CG is worse than traditional costumes and SFX from LotRs, but can still rewatch the films.
Late game TWW2 was the golden age
For some reason they chose to ignore this completely with 3
+It's the only MMO I've ever played for longer than a few days
-It's the only MMO that made me waste so many hours of my life
Yeah but that’s not how it happened in the books. She just talks about the corrupting influence of the ring and the water dish shows a vision of the Shire enslaved. The terrible early 2000’s effects looks like absolute shit.
because it extends the story for way too long with dumb bullshit to hit all those audience groups, like having romantic plot out of nowhere or the dwarves trying to kill the dragon, its just retarded. Everyone knew that its made purely out of greed.
She just talks about the corrupting influence of the ring and the water dish shows a vision of the Shire enslaved
Not true, I am reading the book for the first time now and what happens in the movie does happen, but as usual it's much more subtle than what the movie did. Frodo does feel afraid and it is described that Galadriel appears both beautiful and terrible during the speech, and that everything seemed to darken around her as she starts "glowing" so to speak, which also goes along with the whole theme of her having a sort of mystical aura around her at all times.
or the dwarves trying to kill the dragon
I mean, what else would you expect them to do? Just leave Smaug alive when the entire objective was to take back the mountain?
Frodo is 4'1”
Galadriel is 6'4”
imagine
i would expect them to follow the plot of the book where dwarves are complete assholes who piggyback on bilbo throughout the whole story and then die in the final battle.
That scene is so hilariously cringe who the fuck thought this would come across as.. whatever their intention was
Team fortress 2
you must be 18 to post on this website
FF7Rebirth. They fucked up beyond recognition.
Lotr musical galadriel > movie galadriel
sekiro knowing there will never be a better 3d game.
$25 for Chaos Dwarves
.....ugh, fine
18+, dingbat
cliff explosives are now locked behind white and orange science
what the fuck, man
grow up
That would make for a really shitty movie and make you wonder why Bilbo would put up with their shit.
Imagination is the realm of the past. The future is now, though I sometimes wonder what this means for our real future. Automation is obsolescing everything we thought it never would. Maybe we should be fearing the day these machines walk and talk. Not for what they might do to us, but for what we might use them to do to ourselves...
watch a fancut that sticks to the original story as much as possible
mfw at certain points there's clearly 5-15 cuts of footage as the fancutter desperately tries to create a cohesive experience excising all the superfluous romance bullshit added in
at the end there's genuinely huge cuts back to back and it's completely detached with people just dying and the good guys suddenly winning
and yet the movies are shit, by not following the book, by rewriting it by the disney/hollywood canons it became a forgetful slop.
yes, it is called __life___
blasphemy
To show the viewer/reader that even “good” powerful beings like Galadriel can be turned into horrible despots even if they take the ring with good intentions. Frodo is the only one fit to carry the ring, the hobbits in general because they are content with living a simple life, arent power hungry, and have strong constitutions while being stealthy and unknown to boot. You cant just offload the ring to one of the most powerfuls elves in the land or she will be corrupted into the most demonic queen possible. Gandalf refused to take the ring for that same reason because he would become an evil witch king with immeasurable power. Every other race would become corrupted by it or try and use it for their own purposes rather than destroy it, falling under its power. The wisest council in the land settled on Frodo for a reason, it’s not by chance. His mercy on Smeagol is what allowed them to destroy it on the end, and Gandalf understood this as well.
Reminder that Galadriel is partisan to the atrocities of the Noldor. She wanted to rule and dominate and is definitely responsible for innocent lives being cut short. Just because she didn't give in to the temptation of the Ring this particular time doesn't absolve her of her guilt. May she be judged harshly across the sea.
PFFFHAHAHAHAHAH
no seriously, grow up. It's embarrassing to act like a juvenile 12 year old despite being a grown ass man
And yet the movies were better than the book. Really makes you think.
Were she to bear the ring it's power she'd be able to use it to obliterate Sauron, but the corruption aspect would just make her take his role as a scary god-queen. Same as why Gandalf couldn't allow himself to be the one to carry it.
build for bhc
why even watch it when audiobook by Andy Serkis exist.
same with harry potter movies, i have 0 desire to watch them cutting and changing the story for the broader audience.
yeah this is the one for me. still waiting for them to update the game that fixes enough stuff to get back into it. but every time I check up on it they've instead introduced even more fucking bugs. the incompetence is staggering.
Nier Automata, Void Stranger, and now Expedition 33. Honorable mention to Shadow of the colossus and any ending Kojima wrote
What's juvenile is refusing to accept that the whole scene was nothing but a huge embarrassment
Yes
hmmmm no. i'm almost sure that writing stuff like "PFFFHAHAHAHAHAH" unironically despite being over the age of 18 and building up your own ego by shitposting on annonmous internet website about electronic toys is actually juvenile. like incredibly juvenile. again. grow up.
Frodo just got lucky. It was deus ex machina.
Gandalf's mercy to Saruman led to a lot of people dying for no reason.
crying grow up 5 times won't improve this scene in the slightest. Nice job not being able to name a single redeeming quality.
NTA but you are missing the point. He's not talking about the scene. He's talking about (You). He has a point, seeing how slow you are
Gandalf specifically chose Frodo due to his lineage and Bilbo’s ability to carry the ring, whom Gandalf also handpicked. It was partially up to chance sure, but it’s also how “Eru” directed things. Gandalf was an emissary from God essentially. He even died and was brought back to life with a promotion from the most high.
Lego LOTR. Love, because it's a chill fun little kids game that relatively faithfully adapts the movie series I love into a decent game. Despair, because after 20+ years it's still the only movie-based open world game that actually lets you explore Middle-Earth, despite that premise alone being a money printer
Gandalf's mercy to Saruman
Movie did a good job of tying that up.
Also we get that excellent anecdote about Peter Jackson telling Christopher Lee how to sound when he's stabbed in the back, only for Lee to tell him this is how a person being stabbed in the back realistically sounds like and Jackson first wondering how Lee would know that before realizing Lee served in World War II killing Nazis and wisely just told Lee to do it how he felt best.
eval()
he
lmao
of course, when the facts cannot be denied, the the manchild attacks (attempts to, poorly) the bearer of the facts
Splatoon 3. The map design is just so much worse
Theres a mod for that
i think you lost it
Last part of the book was basically tolkien sperging out about muh industrialization one final time.
IESLSB
KWAB
still failing to defend the cringe
