The other franchises failed to sell enough, just like Dragon's Dogma 2, Capcom doesn't work with titles that will give barely any return, they want to make big money with less effort, that's why they are sticking with Street Fighter 6 that is a instead income every 3 months, RE that sells 5 to 8 milion copies in the first year and Monster Hunter that gets 10 milion copies in the first year with no effort.

Let's be real, the series peaked at Heroes (best level/stage design, best character cast, a ton of fun content) and Utage (best skill/gameplay system, Utage added a ton of optional content that fleshed out barebone vanilla 3, second best character cast), anything beyond that was inferior. 4 was even more barebone than 3 and Sumeragi barely improved anything in it (unlike what Utage did for 3) so I'm not surprised it bombed. Yukimura's sidegame bombed as well because it missed the entire point of why people even bothered with this series. And then you had two gachas that bombed (oversaturated genre in oversaturated market, what a surprise), so it's no wonder Capcom just went full speed ahead on merch with male chars for fujos to make money off this IP instead of making more Basara games.
Its story already hit the end of Sengoku era by the end of 3, so there's nothing else to continue - 4 tried to do some OC stuff and kinda reboot the story but it clearly didn't work out. If Capcom ever picks up this series again they should just make Bakumatsu one-off with Shinsengumi and Ishin Shishi as main cast instead of continuing (or rebooting AGAIN) Sengoku era.
It’s sad that Darkstalkers and all the other non-Street Fighter fighting games Capcom used to make will likely never come back outside of the occasional crossover. I’m personally fine with no new Rivals Schools. Project Justice is about as perfect as you could make that series and it’s getting rereleased. Darkstalkers on the other hand has so much potential for a new game. There’s so many cryptids, horror movies/novels, and myths they could pull from for new characters and also the chance to see Amingo and Ruby Heart from MvC2 return
